Overheard in Marketing Today (II)

"The only reason we got along with our neighbors was because they were retired drunks."

"You mean they don’t drink anymore, or they are retired AND drunk?"

"Who took the jelly out of your donut?"

"How do you catch a unique bird?  You neek up on it.  How do you catch a tame bird?  Tame way."

"At least you don’t have to take that rectally."

"Why did I volunteer myself for this??"

“I’m hot, and you’re not….so TOP THAT!”

"COUGH COUGH COUGH"

Needing a Vacation

Daily Photo:  I was innocently snapping a pic of our lovely Klipschmas Tree when a crazed engineer happened by.

(I think Professor Thump is going goofy from assembling teeny tiny headphone parts.)

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

3 Degrees of Separation

Daily Photo:  (I realize this isn't a photo at Klipsch, but I forgot my camera today.)

John Butler, Australian Musician/Environmentalist/All Around Cool Guy, is my dad's cousin's son.

It's not that my dad isn't a great guy, because he is, but for someone so musically challenged to be so closely related to someone THIS cool?  It boggles my mind.

If you haven't heard these guys, check them out.  You'll be glad you did.

Where am I?

Daily Photo:  I did my student teaching at a middle school in Lawrence Township back in 1993.  I was recalling today, for some reason, a show the kids would watch in Geography class called "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" when I thought it might be fun to do the something similar, but on a much smaller scale.  I could call it, "Where in Klipsch is Amy Indianapolis?"

I'm thinking now it's a really dumb idea, but it sounded cool for a minute.

Too Many Fright Night Features When I Was A Kid

Attachment: IMG_2162.JPG (78585 bytes)

Daily Photo:  As I approached this tree just outside the engineering facility to snap a picture, I had an overwhelming fear that a raccoon was going to jump out at me and grab my face.

Sort of that same feeling I have when swimming in a lake and realizing a Great White is going to come up from the depths of 12 feet to snack on me, followed of course by a school of piranha.

Or the sensation I get when I put my hand down the garbage disposal to retrieve a toddler-sized spoon and believing whole-heartedly that my hand is going to get chewed off when the disposal magically turns on, even when no one is even remotely near the switch.

Or the suspicion I have when I walk down a dark hall that a tall, shadow figure with a hockey-masked face (or William Shatner) is lurking just out of sight ready to leap out at me.

You know, just like that.
