Bye, Josie 1996-2008

I just received word that the last dog I owned passed away in her sleep last night.  Although I hadn't seen her in almost 5 years (long story), I have missed her often.  Great dog.

Amy,

Sorry to hear of Josie's death. Dogs can be so much like family.

They always break your heart in the end. But my motto is "so many dogs, so little time"

I AM NOT THERE

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there, I did not die.

I am Terribly sorry to hear about Josie, I had a Rottweiler as well and had to give her away years ago when I moved to an Apartment that wouldn't allow her, I heard of her Death just a couple years ago and it was still hard to hear. Cherish the Good Times and Honor her life, Don't morn her Death. She went the way that almost everyone wants to go. Peacefully. Once again, Sorry to hear though.

Thanks for the comments, guys.  She has been missed.  And Adam--that's exactly why I had to give her up (moved into apartment).  There just aren't that many options for people with larger dogs, unfortunately!
