Cornetist's Joy

Another retrieval from Hunter's Hope excursion is this old....old....old crate full of PWK papers.

I would love to go through them one by one, but they are in pretty fragile condition.  I was able to take a quick snap as Jim flipped through the contents...revealing this collection of Cornet Solos, of all things, by 19th century composer John Hartmann (among others).

I tried to find some information on Mr. Hartmann and/or this particular piece, but didn't have too much luck.  Just this.  And this

Even though I already knew it, it has been confirmed:  Paul Klipsch loved music.  More so than anyone could possibly love it.  I mean, who else would have sheet music compilations of cornet solos?

Fascinating.  Thanks for sharing!

I think PWK played trumpet?  If so, then him having a book of cornet solos isn't really that unexpected?

I bet there's some really fascinating stuff in there.  Maybe even some notes or ideas never made public.

I suspect the esteemed Mr Hunter will have fun going through that crate more thoroughly.  Maybe with scanner at the ready to scan any notes and sketches to archive.

Please share more as Jim uncovers it.

That is the kind of thing to turn over to a careful intern and a scanner, before it turns to dust.

There once was a loyal Klipsch employee who took great interest in these types of artifacts and was getting some scanned and categorized when....
