The Wide Receiver Next Door
Something I don't believe I've mentioned on my blog yet (imagine that) is my love of the NFL. It is an unnatural thing, I admit. Most women either have open disdain for the sport, pretend to like it for the sake of snagging a dude, or tolerate it for the tailgating festivities alone. I do have a few girlfriends that truly love it, which translates into a sense of sisterhood in our unnaturalness.
One exception to this is the Colts. Everyone here loves the Colts, men and women alike. Me? I've never cared for them. As a Los Angeles Rams fans since 1978, the Colts weren't even a blip of the radar until they made their way here under the cover of night in 1984. But because the now St. Louis Rams have been a giant snooze-fest since they booted Kurt Warner, and they're never on local TV anyway, I've been making a concentrated effort to follow...and love...the Colts. It's been a struggle, but I'm making progress.
I certainly helps that yesterday they picked up wide receiver Hank Baskett, who is perhaps better known as Kendra's Boyfriend (now husband) from the tacky but highly watchable (now defunct) Girls Next Door. I have yet to catch her new reality show, but maybe I'll give it a try, just to follow the follies of our newest acquisition.
See? I still watch garbage TV too. I'm not completely unnatural.
Go Rams!
