What is it with kids and face painting? I don't recall doing this as a youth. I mean, you just slightly scratch an itch on your nose and it all goes to hell. Then you get it on your hands, then clothes, the car, the sofa...then your mom yells at you because you're making a mess, and then she makes you wash it off. I mean, really, what's the draw? Maybe I'm getting cynical, I don't know.

Steven got this done at McAlister's deli this week on kid's night. He's supposed to be a transformer. But as soon as someone told him he looked more like a Teletubby, I didn't have any trouble convicing him to wash it off. Teletubbies are so not cool.

Today marks my 11th anniversary with Klipsch. I started here in my 20s, and am now in my 40s. That blows my mind. Not because I've stayed so long here...clearly I like them and they must like me, but because my 30s are just poof, gone! I hate when that happens.

It's been a good 11 years, though. Lots of changes personally and professionally. But one thing I can always count on is the generosity of my co-workers. Exhibit A: I found this at my desk this morning.

My work family rocks. Literally and figuratively.

While Steven and I Walked for Wishes on Saturday, a 3-mile leisurely stroll through a lovely wooded park, these brave employees tackled the RAIN ride for the Make a Wish foundation. What is the RAIN ride, you may ask? Let me tell you. Terre Haute to Richmond. On a bike. In July. That's Indiana. Anyone who knows anything about Indiana in the summer knows, at minimum, the weather does nothing for your hair.

The majority of these riders made it 90 miles or so to Indianapolis, but a couple went on to Richmond to complete the nearly 160 mile trek, all raising over $7,000 along the way. Kudos to you all, and also to the Walkers (bottom photo) who also raised over $7,000 -- coming in second for money raised and first in money raised per walker out of all participants.

Did I mention how great the people are that I work with? I should more often.

Well, we all know that to be true, but in this case, it's Team Klipsch for the Make-A-Wish walk-a-thon. We are currently neck in neck with another local company for most money raised... Help push us over the edge! Find out more here.

And good luck on Saturday, walkers!! Someone PLEASE keep the humidity out of central Indiana that day, mmmm-kay?

Photo: My little walker (and friend, Sara) in a separate event from last year. I'm so proud.

Hard to believe I posted this little blog about Jill over 3 years ago. She had been promoted to director of marketing some time ago, and it was high time I made mention of it. Plus I just took her head shot recently, so now seemed good.

Hi Jill!

I've kind of gotten away from the "meet and greet" posts, and I hope to get back to them more regularly. So beware, co-workers.

Head on over to Matt and Phil's Movie & TV Blog for the new weekly podcast "The Every Tuesday Show." I realize it's Wednesday, but going forward, I'm sure it will be posted on Tuesdays. Right guys? Anyway, Matt and Phil sit directly behind me, and there are some days when we spend a few minutes talking about the shows we have seen the night before. I always enjoy their insight and opinions, and now you too can benefit from their perspectives. This week, they talk about Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Super 8, and more!

Check it out here!
