London Calling

I was 9 when this song hit the airwaves. Hardly mature enough to understand political corruption and civil unrest, not to mention the zombie apocalypse. But the beat was funky and all my babysitters said it was cool. So I went with it, as most 9-year-olds do in the presence of Teenagers.

Turns out they were right. This is one of the coolest songs of all time. Of. All. Time. (It deserves periods in between because of how cool it is.) But what would you expect from "The Only Band That Matters?"

London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it brother, you can go at it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out and draw another breath

Coooooooooooool.

This was the first album,LP no less, that I bought with a parental advisory warning label on it.  Years later, Al Gore claimed Tipper had something to do with parental advisory labels on records.  Got this in high school I think before CDs.
