Ask for forum members with a 1000 posts or more to submit their user name to you if they're interested in winning the book.  Print the list, cut out the individual names, put them in a hat and draw a name.  Members who have previously won something are not eligable.

If it's going to be "drawing" there's an easier way to make a completely random selection.

Ask those interested in participating to submit their username. Place these names in a spreadsheet. Number the names 1 through whatever. Create a random number generator entry in the spreadsheet. When it comes time to do the drawing open the spreadsheet and press the recalculate key (F9) number of times a few times. At each press it will return a random number. Find the name that corresponds to the numbered name and you have your winner.

I've done this several times at previous employers. We needed to "draw names" for prizes to be given out. It works quite well. I can send you the spreadsheet if you'd like.

create a poll for the most helpful forum member and give it to the winner.  exclude folks who a operate a business.

put it on ebay and donate proceeds to a charity

I agree with speakerfritzs' idea of donating the proceeds to charity with an added twist.

Let the forum decide the charity in some type of organized poll,  and, Klipsch could match the amount of the winning bid.

I agree with S'fritz.

1-Auction it within the forum only and use the proceed as you wish.

2-Randomly pick out a name of the members without any preferences on post counts, that would discourage new members.

Find a small room such as a broom closet at the Klipsch HQ. Take the only light bulb out of that room. Hang a Bose sign on the door to that room.    They've been leaving people in the dark for years!!  :)

OH!!  I thought you just wanted to know what to do, not how to give away the book. Oooopps!!

Let's give it to the person who lost the most Klipsch gear in a recent Natural Disaster.  I think we all know who wins!

I think a silent auction on the forum would be a good idea, with the winners funds going toward his\her choice of charity.

Just keep the book. The World is gonna end next week anyway....

The ideas of random drawings or auction for charity sound like a good idea.  

Or maybe another where in the Sam Hill contest - and draw from correct respondents?
