I'm not aware of too many things originating in Iceland, except for maybe Björk. A direct result of the tunnel vision I have been living in for decades, you see...which I've been working very hard to break free from. I do love the term "Icelandic" though. I'd like to be from there just so I can say I'm Icelandic.
The 5-piece indie folk band Of Monsters and Men, however, is a noteworthy cultural footnote for the country. At least from what I have glimpsed so far. "Little Talks" caught my ear right away, and this one actually turned my head. Give it a listen. I think you'll love, love, love it.
