Do you ever discover a band that has been around for a while, kicking yourself wondering what's taken you so long to find them? I do. Not literally kicking, though.

The National is such a band. They've been around as long as I've been with Klipsch, which is pretty much forever, and were even based out of Cincinnati, Ohio at their start...just a short road trip away. But sometimes, especially when fabulous bands get zero airtime, it takes word of mouth to find them. Or perhaps a featured song in a movie. In this case, both.

Music Monday bonus: Movie Monday! A good friend told me to see the movie "Warrior." When I read about it, I saw the words "mixed martial arts," and I thought...."pffft, yeah right," but I watched it anyway. That's how much I trusted this friend. I'm happy to say not only did it not disappoint, it now happens to be one of my all time favorites. I wept like a child, and can still conjure up the tears pretty easily when I hear the song "About Today" (do not read the comments under this video, they contain major movie spoilers).

So now I'm telling you to see it. If you have Netflix, you can stream it. Right now. Then when it's over and you've dried your eyes, check out The National. Melancholy at it's finest.
