Nothing epitomizes the 80s look and sound quite like the Pet Shop Boys. Even their name is odd, obscure, creepy. Much like the 80s were. In an age of Wall Street, greed, uniformity, and predictability, "artists" went out of their way to break the mold, striving to be different, original, mooooooody.... only to create an alternate mold that conformed in much the same way. The hair. The outfits. The monotone, expressionless performances. A brand new sort of predictability after the psychedelic 60s and uninhibited 70s.
And yet, the 80s still rocked.
