Our industrial design group spends many hours agonizing over the smallest of details. 

So many phase plugs, so few speakers. 

I've been hesitant to post this one - leery of some comments I may receive - but it's just too funny not to.

We've had these politically incorrect ads in storage since 2005, when they were used exclusively at the VMA awards.  I promise, Professor Thump volunteered to pose with this one, I had nothing to do with it.  I may give our engineers a hard time, but I'm not that mean.  Usually.

Congrats to caption contest winner oldtimer, who not only summed up PWK's confidence in all things scientific, but also cleverly referenced the classic 55-page thread about this very topic.  Yes, 55 pages.  Reading through it gives you a pretty good microcosm of this forum:  a little bit of science, a little bit of humor, and a whole lot of BS.

Not a creature was stirring, except for my cool RVX-42 speakers.

Steven saw his first real reindeer outside Santa's Shack in downtown Carmel last weekend.  He gave the elves, who were about 5' 11", a hard time, explaining that people can grow antlers just as good as reindeer.  He even demonstrated how they would form out of his own head with very detailed and animated hand gestures. 

I was proud of his assertiveness with the people he knew were responsible for making his toys. 

It's that time again!  Funniest or most clever entry in the comments section wins a Klipsch-prize:

Every year, Klipsch and its employees participate in the United Way's United Christmas Service by sponsoring a family in need during the holidays.  This year's family, a mother and her three young sons, will hopefully have a brighter season because of our efforts.

In addition to the generous donations of my co-workers, special recognition is deserved for our ladies in HR, who take the time to coordinate the effort.  When I caught them this morning wrapping the goodies, only a few of which are shown here, the spirit of the season was apparent. 

I would be remissed if I didn't encourage everyone who reads this blog to take a moment to give something back, even if it is just your time.

These shiny new woofers are being tested here in our facility to make sure they live up to specs, which is no small feat when placed on our picky hands.  

I was going to post another picture of Brad since he's sporting a second tacky Christmas sweater today, but I'm too lazy busy to take the time to hunt him down.  Suffice it to say it's another Gift-from-Grandma Hall of Famer.

Brad is wearing this lovely Christmas ensemble today. 

I think it speaks for itself.  I like the bow.

Not really, but I think it's a cool idea. 

This is a 1/4 scale model of our P-39F Palladium flagship speaker, which is very nicely done using "real" materials by our in-house wood working genius, Jay.  However, to make these functional as computer speakers would likely be a time-consuming manufacturing nightmare.  Might as well hook up the full-scale version to your soundcard.

I like how Larry strategically placed Batman and the purple guy in the shot for size comparisons.  Special recognition and virtual high-five to the first nerd person who can tell me who the purple guy is.  No fair googling.

Does anyone keep a "things to do before you die" list?  I like to keep mine simple.  Things that I can clearly achieve without too much hassle, but just haven't gotten around to:

• See NYC: Take a ferry to Ellis Island, go to the top of the Empire State building and stand in Times Square
• Learn to crochet a blanket
• See the Cubs play in Wrigley Field
• Paint a landscape
• Visit the homes of my ancestors
• Show Steven Paris
• Receive a telegram
• Buy my next house specifically on the criteria to accommodate Klipschorns
• Ride in a cable car

There's more, but you get the idea.

What's on your list?

I love that this 1950s ad for the Klipsch Rebel has our phone numbers listed as "PRospect 7-3395...." etc., and encourages people to "wire" us. 

Can you even still send a telegram?  If so, someone please send me one...so I can say I've been sent a telegram during my lifetime.
