Anyone interested in Maple RC -7

I wanted to see if there is any interest out there for a Maple RC-7 speaker that I am the original owner of.  I have been trying to complete the setup for years with a pair of RF-7s in Maple and never came across the right deal.  I have since given up and recently purchased a RC-7 in black and a pair of RB-75 from another forum member.  I am at work right now so I dont have pictures to post.  I am looking for a local buyer since I have already had one RC-7 in Maple ruined by UPS.  I am in the suburbs of Chicago.

I understand with the way things are going there might not be much interest, so my alternative is to Ebay it at the end of November.

    Thanks for your interest,

    Bryan

Re: Anyone interested in Maple RC -7

I may be interested in the maple RC-7. I live in Northwest Indiana and am looking to upgrade my system to Klipsch family. I am currently trying to close on my 1st house, and the living room begs for a bigger and better system then my PSBs. So, if all goes well with the house (should know by end of the week) I am looking at getting either a RC-7 and RF-7 set-up (used doesn't scare me especially getting things from forum members...long time lurker) vs trying to score good deal on new reference series. Would probably have to start with bookshelves and RC-62 if I go that route, and I'd much rather try to find some deals on used and end up with a much better bang for my buck system.

Hopefully it can work out and you can avoid having to e-bay the speaker. So, if you have no more interest before next week, and all goes well on this house...I'll be interested. Thanks,

    Jim

If I would have know, I have a set of maple RF35's that I would have matched.  Not that I need another speaker, but what kind of money are you looking for?

I still have the speaker, and nothing will be done before the end of the week.  I actually found a pair of RF 7s in maple so  I am in talks with the seller to see if I will end up now keeping the maple and selling the black RC 7.

    I will keep you posted.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

Well the guy I've been talking to about maple RF-7s for past 2 weeks is now offering them up at a price too sweet to pass up. I hope we weren't looking at the same pair, but I don't know. Sent you a PM about it, and didn't hear back, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on these before someone else snatched them up. So, if you end up wanting to sell that center, than I am interested.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Yes I am interested. I am sorta local. I live in Valparaiso which is about 45-60 minutes outside of Chi-town. I'll send you a PM and we can work out the details.

Re: Anyone interested in Maple RC -7

Not quite. Waiting to hear back, but I am sure we'll get there, and I will have a matching front 3. Now all I need to do is close on my new house and hook it all up, I can't wait! Finally not going to be a renter. New house, new system...oh the anticipation is too much. I'll end up being so broke, but I don't think I will want to leave the house anyways after I have everything set-up.

Another question, will a denon 899 be good enough to drive the speakers?

I don't know the specs on the Denon but my Onkyo 805 at 130wpc does fine driving them.  The speakers are very efficient and don't take a ton of power to get them rocking.  That said, I've also driven them with higher wpc amps and noticed differences in the bass so in the future you may want to look at test driving some amps with your speakers and see what you think.

The denon is 100 wpc. I will try it out, and go from there. If I do decide to add an amp, any suggestions? Still waiting to hear reply on matching up the center. I can not wait to get this put together and watch a blu-ray.

I'm running some older Carver units but there are many opinions out there.  I would listen to as many as you can and search some of the information on here.  Many of the members like the Emotiva gear and I'm sure it's fine but I haven't heard it yet.

Re: Anyone interested in Maple RC -7

Ok cool. I have never ran an amp as I have never had speakers worthy of one. We'll see how the speakers sound with the denon, and go from there. And we have got a deal worked out for the maple RC-7 (thanks Bryan), now all I need to do is arrange a day to pick it up. So maple RF-7s and RC-7 for my new HT front 3 set-up = Outstanding.

Should close on my house by next weekend, so I am so looking forward to movie night in the new place. So happy I was able to get some good deals on the Klipsch to upgrade my system. I am sure these speakers will blow my PSB-B25s & C-60 out of the water. Will have to wait til tax time to get some good surrounds and sub, but it was worth blowing the budget for speakers that are a large step up from what I would have had to settle for getting.

I don't think a bottom of the line AVR is going to do those front 3 speakers justice....Because of the impedance dips of the RF-7s, I would look at adding separate amplification (which I /don't think you can do with the Denon AVR 890) to a mid level AVR or find a THX Ultra II certified AVR so you will have enough current to have more headroom and enjoy stuff at louder SPLs.  Yes
