    PM 2.1 bad amp question

I purchased a PM 2.1 in 2010. I just found out the amp is bad now. I guess the warrenty isnt covered on it and I would have to purchase another one. Is there any way that Klipsch might be able to help me out and replace it for free if I sent the old one back? I really can't afford to buy a new one for $80. Another $70 gets me a whole brand new one. If this is the case then I'm nervous that I might not want another Klipsch. I love the sound on it but if I have to spend $80 every two years then I might want to explore another brand. Any thoughts? I just feel stuck right now on this decision.

Re: PM 2.1 bad amp question

Welcome to the forums.  Unfortunately, the amps on the promedias have known issues due to not having a way to discipate heat.  My previous promedia lasted only a few weeks (bought it used) and the amp died.  My current set is doing ok but the amp plate is too hot to touch for more than 3-5 seconds.  Even if I do not have the sound playing, the amp still gets blazing hot.

Unfortunately, your promedia is way past the warranty period.  If Klipsch were to fix it for free (don't believe they would), it would have to be an exception.  Best wishes.  It's an awesome system, when it works.
