i have a 15 inch sub that i dont use anymore idk what the watts are but this thing slams! its anywhere from 500 watts to 1,000 watts or possibly more and if you want it its only 60 bux call tim at 727 226 7412

Before you get too excited, here is what I found out in my conversation with seller. Seller stated that it works great, slams etc.  Then he started talking about a 300 watt car amp and the klipsch sounded good in his truck.  Long story short, the sub is missing one of the drivers and he had unhooked the sub and ran a car amp to it.  

I was headed to church so I could not go look at it tonight.  After church, I checked my voicemail and a forum member had called telling me he was headed back to Clearwater and to not bother going and checking it out.  He said the sub is getting power but since it isn't a fully functioning sub he passed on it.  He is looking for a fully working RSW-15.

Is it worth $60, probably so.  The driver alone is probably worth that.   Just passing along the info.

 I about crapped myself when I saw the title, and then again I think I just dropped another one after reading about a car amp and being in a truck with a missing driver, what a shame

Yeah, funny thing is I would still be interested in at least seeing it for myself.  Seller is 1.25 hrs away (not worth the drive for this one).  He works in Bruce B Downs which would be much closer for me and make it worth looking at.  I would probably offer him $40 for it and see if he bit.  If so, I could try and buy the parts to rebuild it.

From the looks of it, the woofer that is present is the rear woofer that is on the side of the amp plate.  Willland told me this is the active driver, the other forum member that went to look at it said it was the passive driver.  The seller stated it had a HUGE magnet.  I'm guessing it has to be the active driver since there isn't a way to hook up a passive speaker to an amp.  If that is the case, I would need to locate a passive woofer for it and the condition of the amp is unknown at this point.  There is an amp on Ebay for $175.  

I'm guessing it probably isn't worth my time to go look at it....but you know how it is.....curiosity is getting the best of me.  LOL

Yes that's the active driver.  When fixing an SW-12 sub, the active had the magnet and the passive didn't.  The passive is just the basket frame and woofer cone.  This is a better situation than paying for an active.  Having no involvement at all it's easy to say "It's worth it".  And....that's what I'm saying  .  Those subs go for $600-800 used.

Even if its missing the passive and it has a bad amp, man I want it!  Im going this afternoon to pick it up!  Come on the box alone is worth $60!  I hope he didnt fry the amp using another amp to push it.  I talked to him and he said he has it in the corner with his 500 surround sound, and it slams.......  so we will see

I think so too.  I texted him this morning to see if he was able to bring it to work with him but he hasn't responded.

I really have no idea how bad the cabinet looks.  I know he said he does not have the grill cover.  Passive Driver is missing.  Amp condition is unknown.  If he can meet me in Tampa at his work, it would be worth taking a look at.  I'm not driving 1.25 hours though to look at what could potentially be a piece of junk.

Me: I guess to see for myself if I think it would be salvagable.  I would need to buy the other driver, not sure how the cabinets look, Are you able to text me pics of the other sides?  I've read good reviews about it...but one photo doesn't tell me much about it's true condition

Seller:  Cabinet jus a lil n missing the driver i didnt kno it had 2 seriously it does power up n speaker not blown

Me:  If you can bring it to work with you tomorrow, I can meet up on your lunch break.  Otherwise, I'll have to pass.

Yah the guy did not sound too with it, but thats where you usually find cheap deals!  I think I could get a passive new from Klipsch, well I know the active one is still available through them.

Rennoc, you are welcome to make the drive if you want.  I'm not willing to make a 1hr drive to look at it.  If 2hr drive is worth it to you, that's cool.  I just called him and he said he was not able to bring it to work with him.  I told him if he was able to tomorrow or next week, I would be interested in it.   He said, "Ok".  LOL

From what he told me, he unhooked the speaker (guessing the speaker wire) and hooked up a 300 watt amp to it.  It wasn't enough to really push it.

The whole conversation with him was just strange.

I just called forum member celsoguim to get some additional details.  He was the one from Clearwater that I said went to look at it yesterday. Celso can't get to a computer for awhile so I thought I would share our conversation until he has a chance to get on the forum.

Celseo said the cabinet is pretty scratched up, the amp plate has some deep scratches in it.  The amplifier in the RSW-15 did not look like the one that is listed on Ebay.  He wasn't sure if the amp was replaced with a non-klipsch amp.  He was not able to test it.  He brought a power cord with him.  The guy seemed hesitant that Celso wanted to hook it up.  He turned it on and the green light powered up but that's all he could do.  He didn't have a way to hook it up.  Interesting thing is that Rennoc, you said the guy has it hooked up in a corner.  Didn't seem to be the case with Celso.  You would have thought he would want to demo the "slam" for Celso.  Celso said the location is in a pretty run down place.  One of his concerns was if the seller was using it in a vehicle, there would have been a lot of bouncing around, especially if he had it in a trunk.

Was this listed on ebay?  I thought craigslist?  As long as its not missing pieces of wood, I want it.  Just as long as the actual box is sound, ie not cracked or damaged, im good.

I think for $60.00 it is well worth it.  Easily $125.00 or more for woofer and $60.00 for cabinet if sold in pieces.

If you wanted to "refurbish" it, you could probably get away with about $400.00 additional with amp, passive, and veneer buying used and the active is in good shape.  New parts and good active, still under $600.00.
