Anyone familiar with a Monsoon Vulkano?

My neighbor that I purchased the Acoustic Panels and Bass Traps from was telling me about a Monsoon Vulkano Deluxe that he has in his setup.  He paid around $300 for it.  He said it's similar to Slingbox but much better quality HD image.  When he is away from home, he can use an app on his phone or his laptop to tap into the Vulkano at his home and watch TV, Movies etc.  His also has an external Hard Drive that he can record to (like DVR).

We don't even own a TV in our home so you can tell this is WAY new territory for me.  We have an 8ft projection screen and the 3 - 4 times a year that we do watch TV, we use rabbit ears and it's pretty poor quality to say the least.

I'm seeing there are a few versions out there (Lava, Flow, Deluxe and Blast).  I'm about to compare the models on their website now. Just curious if anyone owns one or has had any experience with it.
