Ok.....So I just watched this. Actually still watching it.

It kind of reminded of the royal tenenbaums.

And with that being said both of these movies sucked.

I can't really understand how/why this was made into a movie?

Hmm, I don't recall that one. But I do remember studying that Kubrick had his actors perform the "rape scene" over 50 times, when everyone else in the crew said the first 3 takes were perfectly fine.

Fact is he just wanted to watch it 47 more times...

Kubrick was painstakingly obsessed with getting the shots just exactly perfect. He would shoot a supposedly simple character entrance to a room dozens of times, looking for "the one" that would look exactly as he wanted it.

I read someplace that Eyes Wide Shut took 400 days to shoot. Not to make - but the actual shooting of the film. Dude was obsessed.

I wish more directors were similarly obsessed.

Kubrick was very much responsible for the movie Artificial Intelligence (AI). Kubrick structured much of the screenplay and then it got handed to Speilberg for production. But the movie has Kubrick all over it in so many of his peculiar ways. I never have enjoyed movies chocked full of gratuitous violence/sex/cursing you-name-it. If that is what someone thinks it needs to sell then it was too shallow to begin with.

Yes, I KNOW the voices aren't real...but they've got some really good ideas..............................

If we new what we were doing it wouldn't be called research.
