This is a silent auction for two items with proceeds being donated to the Wounded Warriors Project. Below are descriptions of the two items being auctioned.

The Monica 2 DAC with SLA battery will be shipped from me and the H.H. Scott 222C will be shipped from Craig Otsby/NOSValves when it is ready to go. Craig can provide more details on the 222C for those that are interested.
I will post pictures of the two items being auctioned.

Auctioning will start today and will end on October 31st at midnight.

Eico HF-87 and HF-85 - NOS Valved

Any interest in Eico HF-87 and HF-85? Both reworked by Craig, and both were his personal equipment at one point.

The HF-87 is 8/10 cosmetically and 10/10 functionally, the HF-85 is 9.5/10 Cosmetically and 10/10 functionally.

The HF-87 goes for anywhere between $600 in poor condition - $900 in good shape (but before any rework).

The HF-85 goes for anywhere between $350 (good shape) - $550 (reworked) - I have not changed the tubes as I have not put many hours on them since I bought it from Criag. At the time I bought it, Craig had mentioned it had all vintage tubes in excellent condition and hence the reason why I had to pay a pretty penny & beg him to sell it to me.

I am offering both items here for $1,250.

I personally find this setup more musical than my NOS Valved Scott 296 - but I just have way too much money in my 296 to take a hit right now.

Trachorn 400!

Pair of ALK Trachorn 400s with Klipschorn grill frame, with the JBL 2404 tweeter mount. (It would be a very simple matter to construct a mount for another tweeter.)

These were bought from a gent going to the V-trac horns. They are in essentially as-new condition. They arrived to me packed extremely well and will depart in the same condition.

Brackets for the 55 midrange drivers also included.

These are now very hard to get, indeterminate wait.

I have a pair of ALK Universal networks that I built from kits that Al provided to me with crossover points at 400Hz and 4500Hz, versus the normal 400Hz - 6000Hz.

They have been used less than an hour.

Hovland caps to the mids, Jantzen on the tweeters. Good parts and a good build quality.

Best used with the K400 horn and Crites Tweeter upgrade.

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum having recently aquired a pair of 82 Cornwalls that I absolutely love. Anyway, my turntable bit the dust and I am wanting to trade a tube amp that I currently do not use for a nice working turntable. First choice would be a technics sl 1200, but will consider others as long as they are in good working condition. Now for the tube amp, I don't know a great deal about it. It is a push pull 2 channel with 2 6l6 sylvania output tubes per channel. 2 GE 12ax7 tubes and 1 Emerson 5u4gb. Was told all parts, including power supply and tranformers are vintage with all new wiring and output of approximately 15-20 watts, by previous owner. The amp has volume/gain control and 1 pair of RCA inputs. I have used this amp with a cd player ran directly in with great results. Amp sounds very clean with no operational problems. I am located in central Arkansas and prefer not to ship amp.

"Best" garage speakers?

"Best" is the most subjective word in the English language, arguably! That said, which Klipsch fits the bill?

I have a partitioned garage, 23x13 in the back portition (behind the partition and a barn-style sliding door) with a flattened cathedral ceiling, about 12' tall. The front half is 23 foot square with exposed rafters.

The gable end of the back (shop) half is already wired, and I can mount the speakers anywhere from 5 to 11ish feet off the floor.

Due to weather concerns here in southeast Massachusetts, I'm shooting for Industrials. I was thinking my ideal speakers for this space would be Heresy slant monitors mounted ten feet or so off the floor. Any other candidates?

I have material cut and ready to build a few sets of the drop in K-400 replacement horns. I am currently running these with ALK universal crossover , and they sound excellent. Stock AA crossovers can easily be modified to accomodate this horns 500Hz reccomended crossover frequency, however 500Hz ALK ES networks will likely render the best results..

Price is for 2 horns, and mounting hardware. For a short time I will be including the K-55 adapters at no addl charge til my supply runs out.

K-55 adapter also available, and I am working on an adapter for the JBL 3 bolt drivers.

Pair of Belles FOR SALE - DFW Area

I have a pair of Klipsch Belles, purchased in 1988, while I was stationed in Germany. I love them, but my wife doesn't. When my amp went on the fritz, that was her excuse to tell me the whole system had to go, "because it was too old." The grilles are in perfect condition, and I still have the original inspection tags, although the adhesive dried out years ago, so they're no longer attached. Some of the original walnut laminate is still in good shape, but the tops, and some of the edges needs to be replaced. I can send pictures and answer questions for anyone who is interested. I just purchased an Oppo BDP-83 Universal Blu-Ray player so I am selling off my 2 other players. Both are in mint condition and work perfectly. I purchased the Sony Blu-Ray player in August 2008 as soon as it was released. It has the latest firmware update installed and it has never once failed me. It has played every BD I own (about 125) flawlessly with zero freezeups to speak of. I purchased the Pioneer Universal disc player in December 2008. It has also performed flawlessly. It is one of the very few players that outputs SACD in pure DSD form via HDMI. It sounds fantastic through my Yamaha RX-V3900 receiver and Klipsch speakers. Both units will be shipped in the original boxes with the remotes and manuals. I will also include a free HDMI cable with either player purchase. I can only accept money orders or cashiers checks. I am asking $125 for the Sony and $75 for the Pioneer, both prices include shipping. Thanks for looking.
