I've smoked alot of turkeys over the years but I've never used a brine. As a matter of fact I don't know how. Can someone help me out with this brine thing. Do I need to brine when I smoke my turkey? Is it better with a brine?

and how many miles on her. I still have a 2001 Nissan Maxima with 105,000+ miles and a 2006 Corvette with 31,000+ miles.

Here is a photo of the Maxima. So far two Oxygen sensers and a catalytic converter, besides the usual tires and breaks. The vette is too young to give me any issues other than a rash of 3 speeding tickets.

Wowie wow wow. Talk about spending. My idea of spending is renting a DVD or buying a bag of chips. I have a feeling he will appear in some crappy movies and return to being flush in a theater near you. Other than "Leaving Las Vegas", I can't think of a really good film he has been in.

So.. we are looking to buy a house, we inspected a home yesterday which had a living room and another room which can be used for home theatre, this possible HT room was approx 5x9meters long.. I was so excited, I was like a child in a playground..

I hope we get it.. auction next Saturday..

Never have had BSL up on my radar screen before.

My daughter has requested some BSL resources to be on her Christmas list. I know very little about this so far, but the idea is intriguing.

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience they could share as well as recommendations for good resources.

Just got the paperwork this morning. At least it's good to have a date. A lot of my good friends weren't so lucky; they found out as it was happening. I can't afford to retire yet, so I will look for something else. We've know this was coming for a long time. I feel I was lucky to last as long as I did there. My boss will be gone, too. It's too bad because I love my job and the folks I've been working with. All things must pass, I suppose. - Glenn

i'm taking off the 20th-30th and as such, am a complete wasteoid today. big plans for the week include: building a wood burning grill pit w/rotiss, stripping down my gas grill and painting the faded black accessory pieces with truck bed liner (more weather resistant and a nice texture contrast to the stainless steel), shooting stock photos for a local college website, and then a day of turkey smoking and leg-o-lamb roasting (on the aforementioned pit). i also need to squeeze in some demo cable making and a bunch of sleep

Got word this evening, from Tony's wife, that Tony has had a heart attack and is in Baptist Hospital in LR. He wasn't feeling well and went to the doctor, who sent him right over to the hospital. He's had a heart cath and angioplasty today to open up a 100% blocked artery.

Don't have any word about possible heart damage.

If you are available to lift him up in your prayers, I know he and his family would appreciate that.

If you don't know Tony, he's a ten year + forum member. He's a super dad and a great friend, too.

My new company name

My hobby is starting to become more and more like a business.

I've been using the name "Gregs Audio" and that's been fine, but it sounds like what it is, a guy who has a serious hobby selling some audio stuff.

I'm trying to find a name that is a little more professional sounding, and one that will be there for the long run, no matter what becomes of my business.

I like the name "Viva Audio", but it's already taken. The "V" is appropriate because of the horn speakers that I build, and Viva means "life", and I always refer to the "life" of the music.

I ran across the word "Volti", pronounced "Vawl-Tee", which means to "turn over a new leaf" or "to turn the page". It's got the "V" and it's got a nice meaning.

I like "Juicy Music", but names like that may be just a bit too cutesy for me.

I've thought about my initials, like JBL did, but GAR just doesn't cut it. Thanks Ma.

"Roberts Audio" may be a possibility, but it's a little plain.

Anyone remember "Trace Elliot"? I think that company is gone now, but I always like their name, logo, and the way it sounded to say it. So I thought of "Roberts Volti" but there may be issues with pronounciation, although who cares, it can't be that far off.

It's hard to come up with a company name and I'm looking to all sources for ideas. I'm ready to get my own domain name and I need to get the company name down first. My mother came up with "Design Concepts Company", my home building company name for twenty years, but her suggestions for this business name haven't been too good. One of them was "Ears2U". Ugggh.

Any ideas from the Klipschophiles around here?

This article headlines a UN leader who asks that music downloader pirates not be sent to prison. Interesting idea. It's a fairly interesting summary of internet music piracy which estimates hat 40 billion music files were shared illegally in 2008. $675K fine for one user who shared 30 files and such.

Anyway, the article makes the case that these numbers represent a 95% piracy rate, but doesn't explain what that means.

Anyone have a clue what 95% piracy means?

Anybody make their own "stink pretties". My wife likes nice smelly candles in the "man cave" because I am confined to that room when enjoying my cigars. Commercial ones are expensive (from a relative viewpoint), don't last long enough, and always seem to lose their nice smell when they are about halfway down. Before I run off to eBay or google stuff, I'd like to hear what others (if anyone) have done.
