How is stuff normally bought and sold on here?

Is it just the honor system where you just send someone the cash and hope to receive the gear in the mail? Just curious as to what most people do when buying off someone.

     Thanks

I prefer Pay Pal for transactions other than those in person cash deals.  Later Bill

    1) Send cash by certified check or money order.  Send it priority so the seller knows you're serious.  Paypal's ok but it can be another whole layer of BS.  The whole Ebay/Paypal world is a sordid mess.

    2) Receive merchandise

I've had dozens of transactions here and A-gon and only one seller was a PITA, and only one piece got trashed by shipper.

Know this, this is the world of second hand and the honor system.  At some point, you will be dissapointed in the condition or performance of a piece that you buy and you also may well get totally f****d at some point.

It's like the stock market, go there with discretionary cash that you're willing and able to lose.

Your best option is to buy close enough to pick up, or of course, buy new.

I suppose some people just come here to buy & sell. I think the best, safest, most reliable and friendliest way is to establish a presence here on the board. Be a friend and you'll make friedns. Out of those relationships come the transactions

YesYes 2 thumbs up in Z formation.

Bottom line, be honest! I "have had these forevever since grandpa died" or "I got a good deal and want to make a cold beer and pass along". Who cares where it came from if it's been played for a while and the actual condition is listed. I have had no problem at all with anyone that has been here more than one day or 2 with the financial transaction including PP, cash when I pick it up, money order and I ship, etc. Let the little voice in your head be heard. If you have something to sell or buy handle the questions about payment discreetly thru email or PM and if the conditions suit the buyer and seller then let it be so. On the other hand, if you have a reason that you want to use a certain method than state the required method and then be open to private dialog about why that is the only way payment /receipt can be made.

    My 2 cents

5 Belles, JM Tercel & Peach, VRD stereo, Pro_Ject and Jolida CD. Denon, SMS & SVS, Oppo -83, XBox 360, Ps-3 for the HT mode.

For sale: One owner WO Quartets & white RS-7s. Dewicked MC-2125. Make a real offer.

Like any other online sale situation. Unlikely that someone with 100 or 1000 posts is going to screw you. Some guy pops up with 2 posts with a set of lascalas for 300 bucks- you might want to maybe back off and wait for something. I personal like face to face but I have sent money up front-700.00 and got my goods just fine. The regulars here are pretty much absolutely trustworthy.I hate PP. Just got screwed by them last week but that is another story. I will not accept PP payments for anything.
