I have owned this receiver for the past 25 years. Bought it from an ex-employee who needed cash. I have never used it - just had it stored in the closet of my home office. Well, I am cleaning out my closets and it is time to sell this thing.
I don't know a lot about it other than it is huge, heavy and supposed to be THE mac daddy Pioneer receiver of all time. This evening I connected it to a CD player and couple of inexpensive speakers and plugged it in just to see if it still works. Everything seems to work, but the left level meter spikes when you turn on the power. It also obviously needs a service and a good cleaning. There is no discernible hum and I don't think this unit has a lot of time on it.
Cosmetically, it is probably a 7 or an 8. There is a three-inch scratch on the right side and a one-inch section of cracked veneer in the lower right corner of the right side. Other than that, there are a couple small scratches on top of the unit on the aluminum and some chips on the bottom of the veneer on the left side. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to post pics, but I am happy to e-mail pics to anyone who is interested.
I have seen these units advertised for crazy numbers and I guess I could put it on ebay to see what happens. But if anyone on this board is interested, I will sell it for the first $1,100. I live in North Florida, but I am driving up to my place in western New York State in a couple weeks and could deliver it pretty much anywhere along the way for free. Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks.
ERIC
