Hello,
I have for sale a Fisher 500-C tube receiver that I bought from a board member a few months ago. I've been very happy with the unit. The reason I'm selling is I just bought a Fisher 400-X Bizzy Bee unit off Audiogon for big bucks and can't afford to own two Fishers.
I'm asking $555 or best offer. I paid $450 for the receiver and bought cabinet off e-bay for $140. so i have $590 invested.
The 500-C I'm offering for sale is in excellent condition with very excellent original Fisher and original finish wood case/cabinet with gold colored metal screen. I can email lots (16) of very good pictures. I'm don't know how to post pictures on the forum.
The details are:
This unit has a Fisher Doc Resto-Pak installed, the coupling caps are Angela tin foils/have receipt. Fm has been aligned and tube replacement in the multiplexer. Confirmed from owner ( Ken) prior to owner on board I bought the unit from,Tom ,Cosmetics are very good to excellent. No missing lettering,no dings are heavy scratches, appearance on the face plate and dial glass is very good. All dial lamps operate. All brass knob caps are preesent and shine.
No scratchy switches or pots. All functuions work well.
The off/on switch has been by-passed with a marine type rubber covered toggle switch at the back on the chasis. The volume control is a little flakey. If you wiggle the shaft on the volume control the volume will change a tad. But it isn't a real issue. A new volume control can be purchased from Bizzy Bee for $75. But I didn't feel it necessary to replace it. I've been told by Paul at Bizzy Bee the volume control off/on switches usually goes out on the receivers.
Original Fisher output tubes, small tubes are mainly telefunkens both smooth and ribbed plates.
I will have it doule boxed for shipping at the UPS store and ship wood cabinet separately.
I have 16 pictures I can email,I'm trying to set up a pixhost site.
I offer 7 day return privelage,if your not happy, pay for shipping and if it arrives in the same condition as I sent it I'll refund money.
I would really really like to keep this unit but I paid big bucks for the Fisher 400-X and can't afford to keep both. Also the tuner section is very strong,it pulls in weak stations very well as good and or better than my Marantz 2325 that I just had aligned by Mike Zucarro in Califonia. The phono section sounds better than my Marantz too. I'm using Forte 1 speakers with the Fisher 500-C .
Email me with any and all questions.
