Actually a point I considered commenting on. Of all the physical media, I'd nominate the 78 as the most archival of all analog. Brittle, yes, but unless broken they hold up marvelously. Certainly the diamond tips used now to play them are no threat to the grooves compare
would there be ill effects?
I just looked up the specs and it's rated for 15A, which would be 1,800 Watts of power. Each Sub 12 is 300W, and the XPA-5 is 1000W, which leaves 200W for your receiver, so I think you'll be fine. You're not likely to draw the full RMS of your system anyway since Klipsch speakers tend to be extremely efficient. Worst case scenario, the breaker trips on the power strip and everything turns off. I think once wireless internet becomes more readily available, that we'll eventually start seeing streaming media that is available pretty much anywhere you want to go. It'll probably start happening once cell phones are able to stream cd quality music. At that time, the CD will probably be completely replaced with solid state memory too. I'm actually surprised that not many people are offering their music for download/streaming through the interent in lossless formats, but I think most

I was just at Steve's place recently....real cool dude and very killer sound. He was running a modified Dx38 with EV DH1A drivers and Crown K1 amps. You thinking about Jubs Artto?

I was very surprised by the Outlaw receiver too...first time actually hearing one (as if one could identify all the individual pieces in the chain). Btw, there's a passive xover available for the Jub, Art if you were looking to keep your signal chain simpler. I remember the noise floor in your room was awesome quiet. Did you ever get that roxul stuff thrown in?
Thanks guys. I'll be waiting to hear from Steve. Yeah, I'm thinking about converting over to Jub's. I'm curious how well the Jub's couple to the room and their low end. I've heard lots of good things about the 402 horn but I have to tell you I'm a bit leary. I have RC7 for center and rears in the HT and I'm not sure I really like the tractrix horns in those (granted they're not 402's), but there is quite a big difference in sound

I think I'm interested in all 4. Can you shoot me a PM or email through the forum so we can work out the details?

I wind my own inductors all the time....talk about saving loads of money. I wouldn't recommend it though without ways to measure what you're doing. I actually never measure the actual inductance...I do the windings based off calculators and then throw it in the speaker and then tweak from there (always start with too many because it's easier to unwind).
