I'm very skeptical about the value of the power strips or conditioners. We have to look at individual claims. Part of claims is whether there is a problem to be solved. (1) Solving a problem which is not there in the first place does not make sense. The second issue (2) is that if there is a problem, can these devices solve them. A) Voltage spikes. If so, from what and how? All our gear is essentially hooked up in parallel with every electrical device in the house. Essentially, it seems impossible

Well, I do think it is important. I was "taken" (like Jackson Brown song) by a previous description by Greg about some structure he was doing in a building. Once the wall is sealled up, no one will ever see it again. But it bugs a craftsman whether the job is done right. Because he has his name on it -- and it is his work. I paint the inside of speaker boxes. Because I like it. Maybe the same as Greg. There is some argument that this is a mild paranoia. As if the "thought police"

The roof / ceiling might work very well for bass response. My brother in law has some SK Khorn "near copies" in a similar situation and they sound excellent. I agree with the underlying thought of Coytee's post, of course. It is necessary to get a good seal between the back of the K-Horn and the corner. As you suggest, the 105 degree corner is going to leave a gap and it is important to solve that problem to get good bass performance. The most critical is between the top of the bass

I would say stick with 1/2 inch. About 20 years ago I built some SKs from the plans. I was under the mistaken impression that the Hope product used 3/4 --- which is not the case. But I went through the complicated process of redrawing and calculations. Having to do it again, I would use 1/2. There really are not any long un-supported spans where the thicker wood will make a difference. If PWK really wanted to he would have gone to 3/4. Let me offer another suggestion. Do not build a K-Horn copy,

Consider the prayers done. For Tony, his family, and the medical crew. It is good that he has a condition that is treatable. I met Tony at the First Pilgrimage. He had a big hand in setting it up. Somewhere on the forum there is a picture of him awarding PWK a bottle of Irish Whisky. Best of luck Tony. Relax and let the docs and God heal you. Wm McD

I could not agree more about the quality of UP. On a long summer weekend I went to a cineplex and saw: Friday night: Public Enemies. I'll watch any movie about Chicago. It was just okay but fun to figure out where each scene was shot. Not so good cops and not so bad robbers. Saturday: Star Trek. I watch any Star Trek movie. It was sort of okay. Only the McCoy guy got it right. Sunday: UP. . . . J U S T M A G N I F I C E N T. Oh my gosh, what a masterpiece. There will be doctoral theses written

I think it is un necessary. As Artto describes you've got more than enough power. - - - - How this works as far as increasing power 4 times is interesting and puzzled me for a while. - - - - Suppose we start with two 4 ohm resistors in series as modeling an 8 ohm speaker. When hooked to one amp (call it left channel amp) the diagram is as following assuming a 1 volt output of the single/single amp: (1 volt plus from left amp) - - - 4 ohms - - - (center junction with 0.5 volts) - - - 4 ohms -
