• Re: I want to make some Jerky

I've made decent jerky with a dehydrator, thin sliced beef from the butcher and commercial seasoning mix in a box. Much cheaper than off the shelf and just as good, but different. Need to do it again now that i've dug out the dehydrator for fresh herbs.

  • Recommendations for HT in cramped space

I'm looking to design a HT for my parents. Their space for a stand and TV is in a corner basically the size of a Klipschorn and they have no room for floorstanding speakers except perhaps the sub. (If they did I'd be putting together a Heritage list ) Therefore I am thinking they need to go with a system with small mains/surrounds that can be placed on mantles and/or easily mounted on the walls. Being able to place the sub in the cabinet under the TV would be a big plus (MAF). AVR needs to

  • Re: My Three Year "Jubilee Anniversary"

I've read that some people don't even notice them in the room until they're playing, because they don't register in their minds as speakers.
That's also true of Klipschorns. They look like furniture. Although I was once asked what was the piece of furniture underneath the speaker (i.e. the top section was identified as the whole speaker).
Happened to me Saturday, family member asked if those were

  • Re: Sellers remorse
OMG, you're kidding, right? I love the LaS, but the Khorns are another league. SS
Not kidding. I'd like 3 La Scalas or Belles for Center/Surround to match my KHorns.

  • Re: CDs, when will they be obsolete?
Actually a point I considered commenting on. Of all the physical media, I'd nominate the 78 as the most archival of all analog. Brittle, yes, but unless broken they hold up marvelously.
Interesting, I inherited a bunch of sealed 78 albums that should be in mint condidtion, I always assumed that they didn't hold up to playing, didn't think about the old timey lathes they were played on being the major cause of deterioration.
