Another member (thanks, slideways03) had the same problem as me and contacted Klipsch. Important information others might find useful is as follows: [quoted from an email from slideways03] "They had no doubt that it was the onboard amp that went bad. I now have to ship the plate to them so they...

  • Promedia 2.1 Amp

I bought a 2 year old system off of someone for $50 and everything was working. A couple days later, I hooked it up and the left speaker didnt work, I suspected wiring so I switched the wires and checked and now neither speaker works. Looking at a couple of options I opened the sub and found a blown...

  • dead port ProMedia 2.1

Hi. Well, I thought I was slick plugging in two speakers into a single port. Not anymore. [:'(]One of my ports is dead. My Left port will serve either speaker, my Right port will serve neither speaker. Checked my sound sources--it's the port. Can I fix this myself? Thanks for suggestions. Promedia...

  • Need Advise on a Good, Economical 2-ch Amp

Hi Guys, I am wanting more power for my 2-ch stero listening. I am currently using a H/K AVR 354, which is great for the HT, but I feel like my RF-63's are starving for power when I am listing to CD's or the Ipod. I don't want to blow the windows out, but I want a bit more thump. Can anyone...

  • Would an external amp make this system sound better?

First off, thanks for all your replies. I am putting a HT in my basement. Here is my set up: Yamaha RX-V3900 (140 watts per channel). Using 3 Forte II for fronts and center (100 watts continues) and 4 KG-4's for the rear channels (100 watts continues). I also have an KLIPSCH 15" SUBWOOFER KSW...

  • Do I really need an AMP?

Recently I had the urge to read about amplifiers (the one piece of equipment that I don't have but somehow felt I should). Before I get started, this is what my setup consists of: RF-63 Fronts RC-64 Center RS-62 Rears RT-12d Sub Yamaha RX-V3800 Receiver ... the rest is irrelevant at this point. My...

  • Re: Is there anywhere I can buy the BASH HC1011 chip?

Isn't it interesting that I am having the same issue that can be fixed by pressure and twisting. I have fixed similar issues to this one by re-soldering the joints of parts on a problem board. I haven't tried with these speakers yet and I don't know if I should. I might just go ahead and...

  • Promedia 5.1 busted... pls help.

All of a sudden they went out with a funny noise. Now I can turn them on and off, the numbers on the volume move but I only get a whistle out of them which doesn't get louder or lower with volume settings... the high pitch whistle also seems to pulsate and if I wait several seconds there is a different...

  • Re: ProMedia Ultra 5.1 completely dead

Five minutes after posting this complaint I got a note from Elliot saying he was sending my amp today and provided a tracking number. I've edited out the details and will report back on repair after I receive it. I also had a failing Promedia Ultra 5.1 sub and based on recommendations in this message...
