  2. My x11i's came in... very nice. they are so incredibly light and comfortable it's like wearing a cotton ball in your ears... only lighter. Sonically they seem to be EXTREMELY detailed and defined... I think I could see some folks saying that perhaps they are slightly thin, but I don't see it that way, and while my image ones are fatter in the lower register, the x11's will go very deep (down to under 10hz) it's just a different delivery of deep sound... tight... crisp and detailed. that is all...

  4. Happy Thanksgiving to all! Just think, we just got done with seeing slutty Halloween costumes in every bar at the end of October and now it won't be long before December and Christmas is upon us and we start to see the 'naughty elf' costumes and we witness the many 'poor choices' that will be made with co-workers during the various office holiday parties..... Given that many of us own 'vintage' speakers and 'vintage' audio gear, here is a little 'vintage sexy' look at the Thanksgiving holiday.

  11. Thanks jweber! duder1982, doubt my (read: her) mind will be changed on these. That being said...someone should buy your 53's and some of my components...Almost all the pieces needed for completion are right here!

  12. Some here get carried away with concern when all these things are discussed. There are some good points here to consider if you perceive a problem. However, ALWAYS remember: If you don't hear a problem, YOU DON'T HAVE ONE. Keeping that in mind can save you a lot of money... Dave

  13. I have some rigid acoustic insulation that I plan to build my panels out of and stacked several in the corner opposite the sub last night to see what a bass trap there would do. 6" thick 4' wide and floor to ceiling on the part of the wall that sticks out into the room near the foosball table. Back left corner where Sub is front right. It killed my bass. Not completely gone, but at lease a 30% decrease. Apparently I am living on positive reinforcement and that is why my sub seems to put out so much. Not what I was hoping for...

  14. While we're giving him a list of tools, lets add clamps (the more the merrier) they will also keep the boards from moving when installing pocket screws and a compressor with a crown stapler/finish nailer is something you'll never regret having and while you're making a list a small impact driver will cause you to forget you have a drill for driving screws. Heck, if you're going to make a list, might as well make it a long one; table saw, palm, orbital and belt sander, hvlp turbine sprayer, drill press, dolly's, HD ball bearing lazy susan support, respirator, a big work shop......................................................... it's a really deep rabbit hole my friend so either jump in or just go around it. If you have any money left, then you might want to start buying Klipsch speakers, so you can have hi-fidelity in every room in the house and garage.

  15. You couldn't make that statement if you used them for HT. I'll bet they sound awesome for 2 ch though. I'm pretty sure this is the 2 channel forum so HT has zero to do with it. I gave that mess up years ago. All it took was one get together with a bunch of grown men obsessing over an animated fish on the TV screen to make me realize it was just plain silly

  16. I don't need to read all the posts to see the intent.... you have no business posting in this thread at all. I wonder why we can no longer have technical discussions on this forum without somebody getting offended. That used to be the fun part of this forum for me. Now, just does not seem worth it.
