  2. Freud 6" super dado set. You will spend a few bucks but I can tell you that this set does a fine job. I have run hundreds of feet with this set and the dado's are still very clean. I would not suggest going with a larger set based on the table saw you will be using and assuming that you will be making minor depth dado cuts. With regards to blades in general CMT blade do a fantastic job and I can generally pick them up for less than the Freud blades without sacrificing anything. I've used a ton of different blades over the years and these have become my go to blades for everything.

  3. That's the thing you can't really go by brand, each brand has duds and possibly some really good models. The only thing Bosch I have is a Jig saw, it's by far the best Jigsaw I have ever had, it's a few years old and is great, powerful and accurate and works like it is new. I read every review and compare everything in it's price range before buying any tool. http://www.newwoodworker.com/reviews/b1590rvu.html I got lucky with a plainer, my neighbor was selling a old 12" foley-Belsaw planer, weighs hundreds of pounds and built to last, he didn't like his new Grizzly as much as the old one, but I did end up with his like new Grizzly joiner. The only thing is both pieces are really big and so heavy we made a metal carriage for each so they can be rolled around, they will both outlast me guaranteed.

  4. Bondo sticks to wood better than it sticks to anything else. This is from over 15 years of working with it every day. As long as it's clean and dry it sticks. I myself have 4 la Scala industrials that look like they were drug behind a truck. I plan on taking the box around the box approach this next year when I redo them. Only plan on covering top bottom and sides and leaving the original back and front exposed.

  5. I actually have 2 XW500D subs. Both are around a 8-9/10. I would sell one for $400 plus shipping if that works. Let me know.

  6. I like the idea of the exterior wrapping with wood myself. The case stiffening for bass resonance, the heavier speaker also helps with acoustics. The exterior is fresh and new looking. I bet it would look fantastic using oak, but that would be pretty costly. The 9mm Baltic Birch idea would be less costly and work well, IMO.

  7. Take it apart and have a look for anything obvious. Here is a good pic of what you are looking at: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo303/BSam1961/Klipsch_Forum/ClearRSW15.jpg&imgrefurl=http://s386.photobucket.com/user/BSam1961/media/Klipsch_Forum/ClearRSW15.jpg.html&h=600&w=800&sz=206&tbnid=YumYvcPyCxUzsM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=120&zoom=1&usg=__Y8ex4zMgYiKRgA2cIVvtsgNLa_Y=&docid=enuCx_2evx67PM&sa=X&ei=J0aiUrqQJIb4oATqkIGoDg&ved=0CDcQ9QEwBA I know nothing about this sub, but you should be able to get a replacement amp (BASH amp or similar) at Partsexpress if it is worth fixing and not just replacing the whole subwoofer.

  8. I actually have dtel's wife as a Facebook friend. They've had a rough year and needed to spend a bunch of time loving on the people in their lives. She also runs an embroidery business (clothing, bags, etc) and seems to be quite busy with that.

  9. I know Tommyboy was in the military. As far as I know, his last post was right before he was deployed back in August 2009. I hope the unthinkable did not happen. Hope not too....maybe TB will check in. Bluesboy moved to the west coast near Seattle. I hear Spongeworthy had a house fire (not hurt) just property damage. Hey Duke....are you still out there? does anyone know his name or service that he is in? Perhaps, there is an active duty or reserve forum member that is in the same service and can find out if tommyboy is still deployed. as far as i know, each service has a locater, which you can find out the current duty station of a military member. As best I remember he is an Air Force pararigger

  11. Glad you got it figured out. Now fix the cross overs and look out. If they are hooked to AVR what do you use for other channels and make sure fronts set to large . No sub??? Rick
