  1. I remember when Coytee was planning a jube fest at his place. I said that bluesboy and I were going to attend and OB responded "Tar if you and bluesboy will be there I'll make it somehow.....maybe hitch a ride with jacksonbart." I'm going to have to go buy a "rolling rock" to raise in his honor. What a huge personality!

  2. Didn't want to take over ajoker's thread on his Old Sckol Dual thread. I want to give thanks to Ronw from here on the forum for making the drawing for me. I was then able to cut out the pattern and then cut out a new base for my Bozak cabinet for this Dual 1019. I was having some problems with the auto function, so I sent my Dual to fixmydual.com, BIll is awesome to work with. At first I was worried as I didn't hear from him for about week, turns out my email was junking his. So when I finally called him, he had no problem expiditing the job to get this back to me before this weekend. Will here it is Wensday, which I spoke to him Monday. I am now listening to this wonderful machine. I had it fitted with a Shure V 15 type 2, and does it sound fantastic. I can't compare this cart with my type 3 at that is a different player all together( I guess I could set it up on this player) but I have no need to. I will be getting a 78 rpm cart for this so I can listen to my aunt's 78s or at least she can when she is over. The pre amp is Tubes4hifi.com Vacuum Tube Audio sp6/ph6 combo which can all so be used as a drop in replacement for the Dynaco PAS-3, Roy as well is a outstanding guy to work with. Power amp is a McIntosh MC2505, which next will get sent out for refurbishing. It works but I want it to work like it is suppose to. Last the speakers, Ok, OK they are not Klipsch. But Dave's Drift recipe, these are a very nice sound speaker, I am all so running a TTLS from Bill Fitzmaurice powered by a Crown comtech 200. But don't worry as I am having a little listening party this weekend with Bliss from the forum stopping by, and we might move the Heresies down stairs and see how they sound with this setup. Very great sounding system, I recommend the table to anyone on the fence as you will not be disappointed.

  3. The Steve Winwood track alone is worth the price of admission on that one.

  4. A stock Lascala sounds leaner than an RF-7 because it can't dig near as deep. Same goes for a Heresy. Strong mids and highs, lows that leave something to be desired. Disclaimer, I own all 3 models mentioned and like them all. When you give a one word answer to how something sounds and it's not positive, it COULD steer someone away. Thin and compressed are words I normally associate with digital audio or output of certain receivers. It's also possible to have a synergy issue between components. It happens more often than you think.

  7. Do you still own your first camera? Here is mine, given to me by an uncle in 1962 he was a pro photographer and a mountaineer. A couple of years later I bought my first Rolleiflex TLR. That old camera still takes a picture every now and then, and still not a bad camera.

  10. Your right Ben, every time I hear a stones song I think of him, especially Wild Horses. Yep. Same here. Put on Hot Rocks. Then as my mp3 player had started before the x10 in da ears backed up. To the last song. Wild Horses. I think I heard a familiar yet unkown voice laughing... RIP Rob.

  12. If you're looking for a bumping system, this is what you want. The Klipsch speakers are amazing and you can't go wrong with the Yamaha receiver. If you have the space for the towers, you'll love this set up for music, movies, or gaming. link (The grey horn and deep port says version 1)

  18. Here is a close up of horn support and a photo of the top hat adjusted to one side. Hope this helps.

  19. Do you have any other pics of it so I can see how it is supported from the front? Just trying to see what options there are for connecting the horn to the bass bin. Ellis you may have seen this. These bass bins were built from 1" MDF not a cut down LS. The horn support is not attached to the bass bin allowing me to reposition the top hat as needed. Altec 511B horns, 902 drivers, Beyma tweets. "old school".... A pivoting pistol grip support is attached to the hole in the Altec flange allowing a little height adjustment to the mid and tweets.

  20. The wood for the Bozak cab appears to be a birch, for now its just a piece of MDF that the table is sitting on. Once I get time I will glue a piece of 1/4" birch to it to make it look nicer and stain the raw wood. ajoker, I can try this weekend with my camera, for some reason when I did with my phone they came out really small.

  21. Since many Klipsch enthusiasts are also lovers of tubes, I want to relay my experience in getting my treasured Grundig 3060a reparied. The radio is in my avatar and is a 1956 7 tube radio. It belonged to my grandfather. A year ago it stopped working and I tried to find a tech in the DC area. After a bad experience with a TV repair shop near Annapolis, I found the radio repair guy, John O'Brien from Potomac, MD. John has a great web site that you can find my googling radio repair guy. Over the last 12 years John has done over 600 tube radios. He took on my complex German radio when many would not touch it. He replaced the capacitors and did some excellent trouble shooting in the radio and audio amplifier sections. He replaced the Selenium rectifier and managed to clean out the very complex push button system. The result is amazing. The radio has great sensitivity and selectivity. The good news for DC area tube lovers is that he also works on tube separates as well as radios. I spent a year trying to get this radio repaired locally without the risk of shipping. I highly recommend John O'Brien as a true gentleman and expert technician. Sincerely Rich
