I called him about a week ago, drove over to Monroe, purchased them for $400. They are as rough outwardly as they look in the picture but play beautifully! I plan to utilize them in my shop. They're far too ugly to take in the house.2 points

Just spreading the word in case my Klipsch brethren might know someone: I need a couple of heavy airframe structures mechanics with A&P license, a ground support equipment mechanic (AGE in Air Force lingo) and a tool room clerk in Corpus Christi, TX. Besides experience you must be able to obtain a Dept of Defense secret clearance and a Dept of Homeland Security life time background investigation to qualify.1 point

Fedex tracking indicates my package was delivered this evening. It wasn't delivered here or at the neighbors either apparently. Been on hold now for 20+ minutes at 1 800 GO FEDEX. Anybody else done this routine. What a pain in my butt.1 point

Just got home from work. Saw this thread and figured I'd reply. We had them tied in good, they weren't going anywhere. Plenty of room in those old Crown Vic's. You could hide a bunch of dead bodies in there . I loved the way they sounded, but needed the space back. Hard to displace my Chorus II's. The wires on the tweeters is plenty big enough, not much power going through them. You might want to clean and tighten the spades. Glad you like them. I'm happy with the deal. Bill1 point

Followup: This morning I decided to go have a look around. I drove down the driveway and sure enough somebody had put the package on top of the mailbox overnight. It had been opened, contents removed, items were then put back in the box. I guess whoever actually received this package decided that they didn't really want it and finished the delivery job? Here is a Youtube video on the "package" that we had ordered.1 point

Thanks for the suggestions, Sancho; the white paper tags were on the back of both but in scratched and faded (unreadable) condition. I did find the number 12R150 and 12R159 engraved into the cabinets, along the inside edge of the back. Tiger, my wife asked me to check and see if my life insurance was paid up before I made the trip. The seller looked at lot like the room but was reasonably pleasant; said he had used them in a club for years.1 point

Nice score, I have a similar looking pair. Did you get him to throw in the VCR? Glad to see that you are alive, his place looked looked like a serial killer's den.1 point

Nice job!! Are the tweeters soldered? If so, take 'em out, solder a replacement & put back. If however, they are working, I wouldn't worry about them but, that's just me.1 point

That looks like a pair I gave to my son's fraternity. I know it's not the same pair, because they dropped one of them off the back of a pickup and threw it away. Boy was my son pissed! I had just installed an almost new K-43 in it. It may be rough on the outside, but it would be perfect for a place like a frat or garage, etc.1 point

That's an amazing trunk! What is that a MB E class? I just keep staring at those monster LS in there and just can't believe you fit a pair in a trunk! Nice going, and nice speakers.1 point

I would not do that again; but Bill strapped it in securely & my Air Force training allowed me to verify; meantime, I want a receiver hitch for my car.1 point

How about sealing your door with magnetic freezer gaskets. Or firmly compressed rubber gaskets. I don't know what they are called but have seen thick, firm, black gaskets with self adhesive on them that could be used inside the wall and have speakers placed firmly against such gaskets for a seal. I hope you are not planning on using drywall for shelves. I would not trust it to hold stereo gear. If you feel you must have drywall shelves I would recommend using plywood under it. That's just me though. If you know your design will hold, go for it. John1 point

What I hate to see is people with plants, drinks, equipment, decorations or other marring object on the top of nice cabinets. Those would make 'perfect' beaters to let one's son drag to parties.1 point

He's still out there. Check the 13th post in this thread. http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=1411691 point

I don't think he's been concerned about the finish on those for quite some time. I know, I think someone in a serious voice should say the speakers look like they are in "perfect condision" and say that they are concerned that keeping the VCR might put a blemish in the finish.1 point

That room looks like the kind of place that you will walk in to and never walk out of. more things - How much for the VCR? He should not stack equipment on the top of the speaker, it could make a mark or blemish in the finish. I would ask about this when calling.1 point

That is exactly what I did with mine. Movies, Football, and Gaming. All needed to be great. Constant Width screen with electric masking top/bottom fit the bill nicely for me. To me a scope screen is a great fit only if you don't watch much TV or game.1 point
