  1. Found some excellent condition Belle's (4) on CL locally. Original owner purchased new in 82-83, all original. My first listening experience with these in his garage. He powered them for me with a vintage Pioneer receiver and they sound fantastic. Looking forward to bringing these back so spec for an even greater experience......sorry for the crappy iPhone pics Running these now in 2 channel from the Oppo and wow, incredible sound.

  4. i'm going on a limb here, but i am betting that the belles will beat the rf-7ii and the just destroy the rc-64ii. Yeah, a taste of the heritage and nothing else will fill the gap from here on out. Well done on the score Taz.

  7. Got an email from Klipsch about the new Klipsch Store. Got some pretty sweet items in there. Nice job on the store website Chad. Looks like they have some new Apparel but none of them are available for purchase. I like the real wood iPhone cases.

  8. I'm looking for a pair of Heresy II cabinets. I would settle for one if that all I can get. I got a heck of a deal today on a pair of Klipsch Heresy II speakers. I picked them up for thirty buck! Yeah, I said thirty bucks. I still can believe it. The only problem is that one of the cabinets has some water damage to the bottom. Other then that the speakers sound awesome. I took them straight home and replaced my design acoustics PS-10a's with them. If I can't find cabinets I was wondering if it would effect the quality of the sound if I built my own cabinets and the veneered them with curly maple that I have already? Any tips or leads would be greatly appreciated.

  12. Thanks.......Well only about 40 miles round trip for me but I would have driven much further. Looks like you did some major mileage for yours and I bet you have zero regrets! Thanks Bill! I prefer to think of Youthman as the Tasdom of the south. Some things are better left unsaid. Let's just say the price was definitely right.

  13. You found 4 Belles locally , that's just plain cheatin' ! Back in my day we had to freight our first pair of Belles 2,600 miles . Then make a solo 1,200 mile round trip for a single one . Then make a 900 mile round trip for the final pair . You kids these days have it way too easy . Awesome Congrats !

  19. Thanks Marvel. I would love to get the dimensions for that box. I wish these ones were in better shape but the one is hit. I'm pretty good with building and restoring things. I work for an antique shop and we get stuff all the time that needs fixing or rebuilding. I do a lot of wood working to. So I don't think building new cabinets would be all that bad. I just want them to look and sound good.

  21. Those don't look to be in bad shape at all. Yours were made in 1988. You can see the dating format here: http://home.earthlink.net/~ivol/klipsch_cornwall/klipsch_date_codes.htm If you decide to build new cabinets, we can post the dimensions for the Klipsch Tangent 400. It uses the exact same parts as the Heresy, but is taller and ported. You will get lower and more solid bass from them in the Tangent sized cab. It will also raise the mid horn and tweeter horn closer to ear level while sitting down, also improving what you hear. And welcome to the forums! Bruce

  27. Thank you very much. I couldn't believe it when I seen them. I found them on a yard sale site for our little town. A lady that owns a little resale shop post stuff in there all the time. I seen them and message her to see what brand they were because the picture was really bad. She said she didn't know but they were old and heavy. I told her I would come In today and test them to see if I wanted them. I didn't even bother to test them when I seen what they were. I could give her my credit card fast enough. Lol

  29. There is no question that the climate for business has significantly improved over he past several years, but not for the reasons that have been discussed thus far and, depending on your point of view, perhaps not in the best interests of the 99%: 1. The composition of the Supreme Court has shifted from a liberal activist court to a pro-business, conservative Court. One need only look at the Court's recent decision in Citizens United v Federal Election Commission for proof. Who would have believed that corporations are "persons" for purposes of free speech (read as funding political corruption and buying politicians). In one of the most disingenuous or naïve lines in any SCOTUS decision the Court held, "We now conclude that independent expenditures, including those made by corporations, do not give rise to corruption or the appearance of corruption." Enter the Koch Brothers who raised more than $400 million in the 2011 - 2012 election cycle to push legislation and buy politicians who would increase their wealth. Does anyone think what is good for the Koch brothers is good for America (minus the 1%)? 2. Labor Unions and the middle class have been decimated - I have spent my entire life involved in labor relations. I have represented employees (as I do now), and represented corporations while they offshored jobs to third-world countries (until I couldn't look in the mirror any longer). Whether you liked labor unions or not, you cannot argue that they helped build a middle class who could afford to buy the things that business (including small businesses) made. With the destruction of he middle class, who is going to buy homes, cars, Klipschorns, etc.? (Ans: the Chinese). We have stalled the inevitable collapse by the housing bubble (loans to those who did not have the income to buy those houses but could speculate as long as the bubble continued to grow), virtually free money now (0% interest to banks to make 3% loans), a fed that continues to pump liquidity into a system that cannot hope to retire that debt. As a result of the destruction of the middle class by offshoring manufacturing, labor costs have declined and job opportunities for the majority of Americans that allowed them to buy homes, send their kids to college, and retire with dignity are disappearing. How many of us believe that things will be better for our kids, as a group, than they were for us? However, the climate for business is vastly improved at the same time that the disparity between the top 1% and the rest of America widens at an exponential pace. Good time for business. 3. Regulatory agencies are crippled - The EPA, NLRB, EEOC, Anti-trust Division of the Justice Department, and countless other watchdog agencies have had their budgets slashed by a dysfunctional Congress to the point that they cannot function. You may not like the EPA, but think back 30 years when rivers were on fire and you couldn't breath in Los Angles. The last time I was in China people were walking around with masks because the air was so bad. Do we want to follow that path?Think about the tobacco companies that lied to us about the effects of cigarettes. Can we trust them?. I see clients every day that have been fired because they are "too old" and because of a horrible decision by the Supreme Court have no way protect themselves. If you think age discrimination is not rampant, you are living in a dream world. The EEOC has neither the staff, nor the political will, to stand up to corporations any longer. Until last year you had protection if your were fired or disciplined for asserting your rights under employment laws. Enter our pro-business friends on the Supreme Court. As a result of a recent decision you no longer have this protection...at least not in a way you could ever win in court. But it is good for business. Lastly, in response to the comment about truck drivers - My father was a truck driver and his father was a truck driver. Prior to deregulation of the trucking industry you could work hard (my dad worked 60 to 70 hours a week) and provide for your family. We lived in a neighborhood with engineers, accountants, and yes, factory workers. We were all the same in terms of our security and our standard of living. No more. An owner operator scrapes by and every time the cost of fuel goes up he wonders if he can go on. But shipping costs are lower so it is better for business. Is it good for America? So the question is not whether things are better for business, they clearly are better than they have been since the 1920's. The question is whether things are better for Americans

  30. OK after ½ mile walk to a meeting and some reflection. I will be keeping the K401 unless a Fastlaneaudio la Scala horns drop from the sky. I’ve heard them and a truly worthwhile upgrade but this is a garage/PA rig. If I were upgrading a Stock La Scala ALK cornscalawal crossover would be the absolute1st thing… That way I could dial my sound in. Dave’s HF horn and new driver would be next and followed by a new mid horn. I would then cut the tophat off… shorten it and have some cool LS monsters. Perhaps it’s upgrade-it is, or realization that sound great now… but I will call it good unless someone will do the work for me, (so not happening). Dave any desire to install your mid and HF horns and cut my top-hats down?... I supsect it will be silence I hear from now on. :-) As an aside. the D250X HD is a pretty incredible driver. Im not sure if Dave us using it with his Radial horn but it is a sweet driver regardless of price... the price is just the bonus.

  38. Thanks for the kind words guys, very much appreciated. Thanks mach-1 for posting the video, I haven't seen it in years and it brought back some great memories. I'm sorry for not getting on the forum very often and I don't post much either. I kinda keep a low profile but nobody loves talking klipsch speakers more than I do. You can ask twistedcrankcammer or dtel. I've been a klipsch fanatic since 1976. If anybody would like to chat with me about my collection of klipsch speakers I'd love to hear from you. My cell number is 337 298-4773 Give me a call sometime mach-1, I'd love to talk klipsch with you and answer any questions you have, that is provided I know the answers Kevin Harmon

  39. I don't know if folks like all my pictures . I usually open two windows, I open and copy on one page then place the cursor and paste on the other one. Your website made it easy. The other method I use are instructions from inmate Boxx on use of Photobucket. I have two accounts there and don't use up the Klipsch forum bite limit. Just open, copy, place and paste. This a fun forum, some other forums I use, you can't smile or post pix. If you want I can post pix tips to your PM? So the Cornscala if set up with the official K400 and driver, that combo is about 23 inches long. Your finished cabinet has a shallow top hat, does the horn sit out back? What motor boards do you supply for all the possible combinations? You said you like pix. A nice finish takes way longer than the actual build. The ones in the pic are my 2 way system with an eliptrac and B&C DE85TN. I think they are 16" deep. The ones Im building are ~24 long and will use a K401. I ordered a pair for a customer, but klipsch goofed up shipping during there where house inventory system change over. The customer went with a different horn... I called klipsch frustrated and the horns became a free gift... Klipsch has outstanding customer service... always has from my experiences. So with some free horns the PA rig idea was born.
