  1. Have any of you guys in cattle country heard anything about this? It certainly would not be surprising if it is really true: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/04/01/raw-meat-sales.aspx?e_cid=20140401Z1_DNL_art_1&utm_source=dnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art1&utm_campaign=20140401Z1&et_cid=DM43653&et_rid=472886920 Maynard Just noticed at the bottom of the article that it says, "happy April Fool's day." I don't know if that is just a general statement or if Mercola has developed a sense of humor!

  2. Recently I was surfing the forums and I saw mention of a Nelson Pass design, First Watt amplifier. Naturally I opened my big amateur advise giving mouth and said. "I have always wanted to build one of those" Almost instantly I received a PM from duder1982 that said "I have a set of the Pass F5 boards I am not going to use. I will give them to you if you start a thread about your build." I replied "yeah, sure, cool, awesome...." So here I am fulfilling my obligation, what a fun journey. Thanks duder, I love it. For the chassis I stepped up and purchased the premium pre drilled chassis from DIY Audio. In the mean time I stuffed the board with the available parts I had on hand, and ordered the JFets. The power supply I ordered from Antec, what a beast. The capacitor board I ordered from EBay. The engraving of the face plate I did in house, quite the learning experience, and what a mess. Dave

  4. It was hard to believe anybody wouldnt had noticed the farmhouse thread...nobody xept maybe 50 people crawl through this part of the forum in a weeks time. Its actually maybe getting a bit more traffic not much more though im noticing as a forum member after the great new renovations(in the forum). I dont believe eth2 was calling any lie. I even pm'd him and said i wondered the same as he was. Amy you are awsome. This place wouldnt be half it is now if it were not for you caring enough to take your time to provide us with this wonderful place. I know for myself i frequent different areas of this forum for days then not and to another section for months and back then and so on to something else and so on. We need a PWKLIPSCH pilgram migration. I wish amy was there so i could see one of these absolutely off the chain klipsch stadiums. That things worth as much as a new h3. That may be all we need at a gathering is one of those. I seriously appreciate everything that goes into this place> Klipsch is truly a legend in sound. It must live long with Pauls spirit leading the way. Blessings to all. Please have a great sunny day! Its even warming up now in northern indiana, or at least i had to turn the heat down inside.

  6. Ever since ssh conceived this gathering I engulfed myself in attending. As i explained i was unable to be there. If there were 2 people at a klipsch event I would still demand myself attending if invited. Looks as though klipsch corporation would be involved if they were in contact with followers of the event. I may be too enveloped in my drive and emotional attachment with klipsch considering the lows i have been through getting ripped off buying nib thousands of dollars only to be depressed by the performance of other brands/models. Knowing now the klipsch factory is off limits results in me a variety of unusual thoughts. I have spent thousands on nib klipsch as well although many of us buy klipsch used and modify as we prefer. I cannot remember the previous gathering rsvp although have not been involved with klipsch and the forum only in the past 4 years, about 2 of them being a member. Anyhow today with the way many individuals live they have not time let alone the fact they are internet only participants to the glory of the PWKlipsch movement. With texts and internet and countless other negative contributes to such great events the pilgrimage of the days i have only heard of are apparently behind us. It is most unfortunate if this is true. It tames the klipsch fire i have inside of me. I presume to this point the gathering in this day in time appears to be on a screen right in front of us every time we log on. Praying its an illusion. The enjoyment is still able to be had. I pray nest time i can be there. Bless you all and thank you for sharing. Lets keep trying. We need more events! Please

  7. Guys: this is an ad in the Garage Sale section - let's skip the off-topic stuff so the OP can do his sale. If you do not like the price, then it is simple ... don't buy it.

  8. Not the whole thing, but just one channel. Got a friend with a basement setup consisting of one '59 Khorn and two other non-nondescript speakers he uses for god knows what. Upstairs he's got Fortes, but he's running them through a separate amp. A fellow Klipscher indeed. A few months ago his 70's era ss receiver bit the dust, so I offered him an older Onkyo AV receiver a customer had given me. Problem is, no mono switch for the Khorn, which, not surprisingly, is the way he really likes to listen to it. So I'm wondering if I wired the two sides of the "B Channel" together would I be producing a true mono signal. It would probably be dropping down from 8 to 4ohms but I hardly think that matters for his occasional listening. So what say yee?

  10. Kevin Harmon gave me copies of his different visits with PWK on DVD, but it is good and proper to see them here again! It is a shame that Paul is no longer with us and all those that will miss out on ever meeting him, but it is nice to have these glimpses into what the man was really like. Roger

  13. As I've stated numerous times before, I do not read all posts. In fact, I usually only read things brought to my attention by one of you. As a result, I learned about this event exactly 3 days before it took place. The plant no longer gives tours, that's true. However, I spoke with Roy last week to see if something could be worked out for this gathering, and he told me he would've been happy to help but was out of town. We did not hold a pilgrimage last year because we had about 10 people RSVP. If there is actual interest again, we would love to hold another one. Paul's legacy is very much alive in the marketing department as well as engineering. But the marketing department is solely based in Indianapolis and it's quite difficult to plan anything in Arkansas from here with 3 days notice. I apologize if you feel we let you down. It sounds like a fun weekend anyway.

  15. Yeah I know, I can be a real jerk. Sorry Fritz. I'm getting needlessly defensive because for some idiotic reason I feel like I need to defend my use of one method over the other. Dave's right, it should just be investigative fun.

  17. It's easier on the eyes because it's right. Okay, let's try it again. One picture is the bridged circuit and the other is the JBL method. The larger meter is showing the capacitance. I have two .10uF capacitors connected in series. The capacitors are charged, and capacitance is stable.

Great time, and thanks for making me feel so welcome even though I wasn't a member of the forum and not really all that educated on stereo equipment. pmsummer invited me to tag along, and as I had vacation days to burn and love a good road trip, how could I refuse? It was my honor to join you gentlemen (and Ron).

  25. There is the KMC(?) line of speakers that are like by some here, that have heard them. They may be military, but dicey on recall. Some info in archives or even now. So brought that up to say, it has to be qualified as, some may have been local(?) PX, and wherever. Have not delved into it here actually as not a everyday dicussion. The KMC, I wonder about. I am not the first by far to have spoken on the line T line. So, needs more info...

  36. News just in: After I test all three, all three will be for sale. This news comes from me showing the wife the back of the units, she saw the switch, what's that for ? (Bridged/Stereo), well dear if you have two amps you can double the power, so how much power she ask, well dear almost 500watts at 4 ohms, but mark she say's, you already have the cops here with your 70watts!......she is of course right, im wanting, but NOT thinking, so sell them all I will just as soon as I check them out. you guys will be the first to know, but let me make sure everything works on all of them before you guys start crawling all over this, don't want to sell a nonfunctioning amp(s). OK? just relax and give me tonight and morning to run them.........

  39. There are slim pickins for surplus stores (electronic) in NorCal, compared to LA Calif. Did a little driving today and visited one of my old store owners, his son was working the store, and said dad was at the warehouse. Wait, you have a warehouse ? oh man, I ask the kid to call dad and see if I could visit him there. Sure was the reply and bring some beer. I told the wife this "visit" was not going to be pretty, I could be there hours, she was good with it. After an hour of amazing finds, I wanted many things, but retiring in the within the next 21 days, I held back, owner was cool with my interest, said anything I want "we would work it out".....cool. about that time the wife calls out to me, Hey Babe, he's got what I think is speakers back here. off I go. OMG, um yep, those are indeed speakers! Frazier's ? I believe, OMG. should have brought my scotch, I needed a shot.

  41. On Ebay I use a guy that calls his company "Primeamp" out of Kowloon HongKong, all my tube amps come from him, Direct copies of Mcintosh, fisher, and others, and he backs them up. to this date iv purchased 6 tube amps, and a set of Mono Blocks for the wife. could not be happier. Which was your favorite amp of Primeamps? Have you ever had any of them bench evaluated? Nice looking stuff. Oh brother, I don't think iv ever been ask that before, um, all of them, since I always seem to find some kind of killer speaker first and then figure the wattage they handle then kind of take it from there, does that make sense? And no bench test as of yet, that would be interesting though.

  43. I'm going to try that malt now. I've been listening to the youtube on my Promedia 5.1, and am very happy. I am heading upstairs right now to pour some Scapa. edit: I'm going to have to pass of the Lagavulin for now. I just found out the shipping alone is $49.14. I will see if it is carried at my local ABC store. They do have quite an extensive offering. BevMo and TotalWine here in Calif, Lagavulin is . as they say 'Peaty' to the taste, $60 to $80 per bottle is a good price. I tell everyone I hand a shot to, "Remember standing around a campfire burning Oak ? yeah, well your about to drink it. Update, just last night the wife came into the cave, between us we killed half bottle, jumping around youtube videos and of course cranking it. it seemed to get louder with every two drinks. im sure my neighbors heard Ricky Nelson like they never heard it before.
