  4. When I bought my pair of Corncsalas, they came with 2 pair of crossovers. The AA's I'm selling and a pair of B2's. I sent the B2's to Dean for a recap and battery mod so the AA's are for sale. Of note, I changed the squawker cap and moved a wire on the autoformer at Deand suggestion but it's reversible if you like. No, I did not keep the old caps but they're a couple of dollars at Parts Express. I will pay shipping in the contental US and eat Pay Pal fees. Cost is $50.00. Thanks for looking, Carl.

  9. How about we start taking more of a political bully approach. We are going to start twisting you arm as you know if you don't move to the dark side of the Heritage line up, your not a true member of this forum.

  12. Putting off breaking out the pressure washer and the 32' ladder. Anyone want to talk me out of it? Cheers Gents

  13. Not trying to talk you ink getting rid of the 83s but, as much ad I lived them I find my thx kl650s much much more detailed than the 83s. The thx speakers aren't bright whatsoever though and I find them very neutral I'd deeply consider 3 lascalas if you are getting that much more detail. I know I loved my 83s but I wouldn't swap back and like my more detailed speakers as well. You could always grab the 3rd lascala from billy if need be.

  18. You could do like we are going to do... Make the whole wall with AT screen material and then see how big of a picture you like viewing and mask the AT screen wall with black acoustically transparent material. I figure it is better to go big now rather than later decide I want more and have to buy another screen. It is much cheaper to mod the masking panels to a smaller size if you want to go bigger.

  19. Good idea. I only have about 5ft from front of the wall to the front of my chairs. Would just have to do some measuring to make sure it would "open". I don't think I could go entirely wall to wall though.... According to the Calculator Pro at projectorcentral.com, if my throw distance is 15', the max I can achieve is a 138" diagonal (currently a 103") which would be 10.5' wide (currently 8' wide). My room is 13' wide. Just not sure the 1200 lumens will cut it. I can see moving to LaScalas is about to get expensive quick.

  20. You wouldn't need to build a false wall if you make the whole wall a screen. The screen can be hung by the ceiling that swings up. So basely you lift the screen from the bottom like a brief case but all the way up. When i did mine i thought about getting a fixed screen (being they cost way less). And thats how i was going to set it up if i did go that way. If you haven't already look at some of the AT builds with a fixed frame. Some open like a door and some just come off all together. I like the idea to open it like a car hood myself.

  21. One of my biggest concerns with your front wall is how deep is it, and how far away is from your front row. We may not have much wiggle room, but if your false wall is deep enough it might not be a problem. I would just hate your to reconstruct and find out your front row is now to close to the speakers and scree.

  23. Shipping would be a problem ? I have some play money coming up and just wondering. Mark - I think shipping would be cost prohibitive - these are very big horns - I believe 38" diameter. They are also pretty heavy (unlike the oris horns which are amazingly light). Perhaps you can get in touch with crate and freight - I'll be happy to accommodate in any way I can.

  25. I have been kicking around the idea, good or bad, of checking out my older Yamaha AVR with my still new to me KG5.5's With my 1980 45 wpc NEC aut int., I have as much bass as the source material provides, which sometime is quite alot. While at the same time hearing the Chorus hooked up to the NEC unit, in my present avatar. Only by checking with another unit, as we have suggested, will you have some idea as to what may be happening...IMLO LOL, no pressure...

  30. The forte II will dig down to 32HZ. I had a Velodyne sub for many years, and I left the crossover set at large and about 40HZ or less. Even then I felt it was keeping the forte II from really reaching their potential. I ended up ditching the sub and run just 2.0 for music and video. I'm thinking you will find that the favorable listening position for video will be small and for audio large. Best regards, John

  31. I had about 30 minutes before work this morning and decided to do some quick A/B Comparison using a scene from The Book of Eli where they destroy the house. I've always been impressed with the detail of this scene and was curious how the LaScalas compared. From this first initial test, to my ears, the LaScalas were much brighter and more detailed than the 83's. Dialog also was more prominent. I did not use an SPL meter to make sure both A/B were at the same volume but probably will do that during my next test to try and make it as fair of a comparison as possible. Honestly, I'm very impressed with the sound of the LaScalas. Did Youthman just say that out loud? I never would have thought I would have uttered those words. I even did a very quick A/B using the 83's as mains and switching between a single LaScala for a center and the RC-64. Again, the LaScala seemed to be more pronounced and detailed than the RC-64. Again, not a totally fair comparison since the RC-64 is 8ft in the air angled downwards towards the listening area while the LaScala is on the floor straight in front of me. I'll likely have to bring the RC-64 down and place it on top of the LaScala to get a more fair comparison as well as level match them. The force is strong with this one....

  32. Hey all Just wanted to provide an update: purchased a Fisher 500c receiver today. About to hook up the Heresy speakers but am wondering what ohm's I should run them at. The Fisher has 16ohm/8ohm/4ohm options. Should I run the Heresies at 8ohm? Thanks for all your help.

  33. Cross over and volume may be the 2 knobs on the back. Thinking you will able to run from the subwoofer out to the in from Kardon AVR. What model is your Harmon Kardan anyway? Others will assist you! Around 80 hz may be your crossover setting Glad you like your setup and welcome here!

  34. I set all my speakers as large.. Even the La Scalas. ;-) Why? I was told to set all speakers to small to make it easier on your AV and let the subs do what they were meant to do.Try both ways and go with what's best to your ears. No reason not to try. I have tried running lots of different ways and like my fronts set to large. It sounds a bit fuller to my ears. When I run them small even xo at 40hz it still sounds just a tiny bit thinner.

  40. So i take it i can use this switch to use the same pair of speakers from both my home theater amp or my 2 channel amp by the flip of a switch depending if i want to use my theater amp on the same pair of speakers I can also switch it to use the same speakers on my seperate 2 channel amp in stereo? Thank you for a correct answer Yup I've set it up that way for a few customers in the past. Works great. I'm sure the 12v trigger version works fine also. Holy cow iv been wanting one of them my whole life (for about 4-5months) im serious. thank you all for help. very appreciated!

  41. But why, what are the ashamed of or wanting to hide it don't make sense ? However, it is all very interesting.... I can only imagine its the BS they told their children over the past 100 years, I fkd that up. When I confronted as many as I could, they had NO anser, because I have documented proof of the Lineage and they have nothing. Black Sheep is pretty cool, oh yeah, my cousin Deb who paid for the test, she is pissed too, have not had contact in years with her or anyone else, they don't even tell me when someone dies! Yes, im a poor, poor outcast thrown in the the dregs of the world with no one to call family, Now ask me if I give a flyin fk. Im quite happy living the truth than live by the lie. And on a side note: The Payne family was quite happy to find me, and have been invited to gatherings through out the US and Dublin, I like my "New" family better......
