I will be updating a WinISD database and attaching it to this post. I will also be editing this post to include pointers to pages much like the Klipsch Crossovers thread. Please keep new posts related to this thread topic. Unzip the included files into your "This PC > Documents > WinISD > drivers" folder to use them in WinISD PS: I have also included my collection of Dayton Audio drivers in the Dayton Drivers file below. It goes in the same place as the Klipsch files. Dayton Drivers.zip Klipsch WinISD Driver Database v2.1.zip

  2. In my travels i came across Foam Factory which has a ton of acoustical foam. A lot of looks to be fairly priced. For instance these foam wedges: http://www.foambymail.com/MIW/monitor-isolation-wedge.html I bought the auralex versions of these and spent like 4X the cost. I know a lot in here like doing foam shtuff so i hope this helps!! I haven't bought anything from here so i can't speak from first hand experience but it looks legit to me.

  4. Vintage Eighties model with huge sound stage and clarity. Must hear to believe, heavy oak veneer cabinets and grilles intact. Minor dings and scratches that come with age, they need very little TLC. Speakers/horns and passive radiators are MINT! The serial numbers are sequential. 88254057 & 8824058. 5. From CL posting: I never thought I would do this, but after refurbishing a pair quad 57, I've decided to sell my much beloved cornwalls. These might be the best sounding cornwalls on the planet. These are the rare vertical horn cornwalls with crites cast frame woofer upgrade, ct 125 tweeter upgrade, and reworked crossover. The previous owner also added some dampening around the mid quawker and a little bracing as well. All cabling was upgraded along with the binding post. I won't go into much detail about how they sound except for the fact I haven't heard any modern speaker under 10k that could touch them. I thought these would be lifers for me. But then came the quads and I'm hooked. I just can't justify keeping these because of their size now. They are in good shape cosmetically with no chips or pulled veneer. I'm asking 1200. http://bham.craigslist.org/ele/4406323709.html No affiliation. Look very nice.

  6. Before i buy anymore speakers I would like to do just that build an anechoic chamber. Ya know...I really appreciate all the knowledge of this forum and would indeed like to build my own speakers. Its a pipedream although for the best results you must indeed use an anechoic chamber. It would be nice to get a gang together to buy this stuff to build the chamber and send the parts/pieces around to each to test certain design/s. For klipsch to even share the fact they use a chamber such as what they have is astonishing as well as the fact it is used and provides the best results possible. Guaranteed other manufacturers have chambers they do not share the facts of having one for their use. That is a very good price though....wholesale...there is or was a guy near Indianapolis who had access to this material in excess and for a great amount of cu. ft. his prices were $100 and some less for multiple types and variations in amount...A lot for the money...I never have contacted him and still wonder if he is around...he at one point in time and still may have his treatment for sale on clist...amazing prices for boxes and boxes... I also seen a guy not far from me on clist with actual egg holders the fiber type for free....A good 400sq ft full or more stacked from floor to ceiling a month or so ago...not sure how well it would perform although it seemed ugly and I have no room for such an amount at tis time nor a room to make such a chamber. It is a goal of mine to have a chamber very siple in design although very useful and accurate. 1 thing at a time I guess for now lol

  7. I agree with Beeker and Derrick. The prices on this site are far lower than any I've seen. I like the acoustic broadband foam. A guy could make his own anechoic chamber. 32 square feet of it is about $100. For a small room, say 10'X12'X8' (592 sf), the cost to do a whole room including floors and ceiling would be less than $2,000.

  8. LCR stands for Left/Center/Right. It is OK to lay it horizontal, but the horn axis is 60 degrees that way instead of the 90 degrees when stood up.

  9. Why don't some people at least clean up an item they're trying to sell? At least take it out of the shed and blow the dust off. That poor speaker.

  11. Hello to all new and old Klipschers , have not posted in ages. My system is now an all Palladium (mains, center and rear) with a massive TC Sounds LMS-Ultra wall of 16 drivers up front driven by 64KW of Crown iTech 8000 and QSC PowerLight PL380amps. Life has changed alot, one passion just took more space audio. Be posting more soon and some pictures. Sold my RF-7's, RC7 center and RF5 and RB5's, sold all my RSW10/12 and 15 subs , for some JL Audio Fathom F113's(4x). Love my Klipsch Palladium with Bryston 7B SST monoblocks (5x). I have to say Klipsch should release a folded horn loaded sub for home use, to back the larger Palladium mains in larger rooms.

  12. Local sale on these! They are in fair shape. Mostly scratches, the bases have a bit more wear, mostly on base sides and not very visible from the front. I believe they were made in 1986, finished in walnut and have the AB crossover. They have been in put away in my shop for awhile going unused, I brought them down, spent a few minutes cleanning them up a little. I'm minutes off I-5. $1300 Here are a few photos of one of them, If anyone has questions or interest for more photos let me know!

  14. I recently received a new pair of Status headphones as a warranty replacement for my Image One II headphones (cracks forming at the hinges). So far I'm very happy with the Status headphones. Unfortunately, I snagged the iPod cable on a door jam and broke the jack. I have the non-iPod cable as a backup, but I'd like to order a replacement cable and I've not been able to find out where/how to do that easily. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

  16. Ha you are right. In mild defense of the Cornwall the do an ok job of pounding hard down to where they can. They are likely ok down to 45Hz or so before they start to roll. If you want the lowest possible response in the smallest possible cabinet volume you will need to use a driver with a Qts of 0.33 or so that's very close to the ideal. Sorry about the paragraphs of info, I tried to cut and paste the lists from the Klipsch page but the lists got turned into one long paragraph. Must have something to do with the site here I don't know. If you search at the Klipsch forum you can find info on most all their speakers.. Best regards Moray James.

  20. Tim, Save your money and use the modern Sovtek or EH gold pin. They are made on the exact same factory line in the exact same way as the military surplus tube. To me and many others they sound identical. If there is a differnce its extremely small...

Waiting for your hard drive to find something sucks. Here is a chart to determine best babg for your buck. Passmark link

  28. The thing that kills me is USB plugs. What simple **** designed those? They won't go in upside down, and half the time they don't go in right side up because you don't have them perfectly lined up. Then you flilp them over again because you think they are upside down. Stupid! Hate those things. And to think, it has been the major connection method for everything from peripherals for decades. How in the heck did we ever land on the moon???

  30. When using crimp terminals I never crimp over the plastic covers if they are used. I always remove the plastic and crimp on just the metal and use multiple crimps to form a nice tight and well shaped crimp, not just squashed. Similar to this . The crimp terminals with a separate crimp for insulation like in this photo are nice also. If I use plastic covers I remove them and slide them on the wire first then slide them back after the crimp is made. Also many of the plastic covered type crimp terminals are very cheap and flimsy, always look at the quality.
