Morning gang, first pot-is-a-brewin. Spent the entire day yesterday component shopping/ideas and learning crossover design, active, bi-amping, tri-amping. Breaking away from the norm of everything we think is normal design/pricing for said design. Amazing the components that can be found, throughout the world of audio, I barley scratched the surface, every crossover we have seen, iv found the parts for, here and there. In the cave, silence all day, wife had her khorns cranked, (cannot hear them out here) so no nap in the house. Beer, Coronas/lime, maduros, choc chip cookies.4 points

Hope all you dads had a good day, never did much, family all came over smoked/grilled some burgers and dogs and pretty much sat around with everybody out in the bar most of the day. Hours of time hanging in the hammocks talking with a little American honey to sip on. It's hard to have a bad time with over 3/4 of the day grilling and laying in a hammock listening to music.4 points

Sounds like you guys had a good day Lady friend took me out to breakfast since I am now Jake's dad. She also bought Jake a kiddy pool and after going to Sears for an air hose adaptor we pumped it up and put about 8"of water in it. Jake crawled in and stretched out in the water for a few minutes. Seems the critter's neck is too big for most collars. Looking for one about 29-31" around. Went to Whole Foods and got the butcher to cut up a couple of large bones that kept him entertained for quite some time. Later lady friend went to spend some time with her daughter so I grilled a couple of chuck eyes and shared a few bites with the critter. Such is life in the slow lane. Cheers Gents3 points

It's different when your father isn't around for this day. Last year was my first father-less fathers day. It puts things in perspective. On the other side of the coin, my kids made it special for me today. Happy fathers day to the rest of you guys!3 points

Taurus Judge - a pistol that fires 410 shotgun shells. I've had doorbells go sour twice. In one instance it just buzzed and the other it rang constantly. Odd that it should actually cycle as you've described. My brother once had an intruder breaking in through a sliding door. He had enough presence of mind to 'flick his Bic lighter' as though it was a weapon and the intruder bolted.2 points

First cup in, getting ready for the office and back to the daily grind. Dtel that sounds like a wonderful day, I need to find a way to incorporate a hammock into backyard. Yes minermark, there is so much out there to play with, they can get overwhelming, but I am sure you will come up with something.2 points

Good job on picking the wife, well done. Maby she picked you but either way she likes music and speakers, I like her already and I don't know her. I got lucky with the wife liking music and speakers also, from stories I have read here were already ahead of the game, that species is not all like that for sure. dtel, It took me few tries and a lot of money before finding the right wifey2 points

So the wife fires up breakfast, chatting after the meal, she kind of drops the hint of she does not wish me on Two wheels anymore. Just when I get ready to fire back the normal "Guy Response" she pulled me in to her Pc, and showed me these! Shopped and looked at these a few years back, picked up my Dog for less than half of what these critters cost, and have been happy w/Dog. She said sell the dam thing and throw the money toward the V8 trike......required about .02 seconds of thought. so im shopping. Good wife. 427 Ci @550+Hp2 points

Well "Racedude" the one thing you can count on in your state as well as mine, Anything Klipsch is there, for sale all the time. just check the CL anytime and you will see more Klipsch listed than any other state, exception only to Calif. 38 million people here, but Florida has the retirement sector.2 points

For your first build, it doesn't get any easier than a Cinema F-20. It will go as low as you'll need in your application and go high enough to blend with your speakers. The driver isn't the most expensive thing out there either. It's a great sub the cut your DIY teeth on. It's MUCH easier than any of the BFM subs to build, not as many panels or angles.1 point

JWC is the person who told me about those amps, Thank You for that and much more. He suggested the D-75's which I tried two of and are still using them today and feel no need to change. I have to say if you ever have the chance to meet him do yourself a favor and meet him. You can look at all my post and see I don't just say things like that, but JC is one of the smartest people I have ever met and couldn't be nicer. I know others who know him well would say the same thing, this is no BS. I hope he don't read this, but it's true. Dtel. Thanks so much for the props. I can reflect the same with you and your family. You just can't meet nicer folks. cheers jc1 point

I like my 30's as is. And .. I've been fortunate that I haven't had the cabinet probs some folks have had. One early reviewer called them the best rock 'n roll speaker ever and I tend to agree. They still get a lot of HT action in our house. If I wanted to do that much modding I think I'd just get another set of speakers more to my liking. Hope you are happy with the result, though.1 point

Welcome. This is a great place to be. Like the idea of setting aside time with your spouse. We tend to go on "streaks" where we listen all the time and then it tails off for a while. We do HT every weekend, however. Good to have you aboard. Chuck1 point

91 is what they are calling for today, much better, I hope, that 100 crap might as well be 120. Sucking down the Joe today, Playing with the new EAW's wired then straight and played with them a little. The Bass in these bad boys should give the HT guy's an orgasm, and they better be checking that salesbaron website on the Bay. That guy could be the anser to many peoples problems and finds here. Like a candy store for people in the audio world, and when you can dicker with the price, that is a goldmine.1 point

Went into the house earlier, she now has a day at home to crank her Celtic tunes, Khorns sounded good, that was three hours ago, I just went back in and something is happening that I have not heard before, the Bass seems to have come in, the room has a slight thump/rumble to it. I checked her mono blocks, found they were cranked all the way, she saw me checking and said only ONE THING, dear I think it sounds good and I wonder how much better it would sound with more power.......1 point

Cool now I can spend your money on amps Your wife sounds like a keeper, which amps is she currently using. I saw a couple good deals on some decent amps today another alternative is to bi-amp if she is happy with the mids and highs, I would bi-amp its best of both worlds Music Angles, mono blocks, Dual KT88s @ 45Wpc, and just about two hours after I posted she was talking about more power, I went back in the house and this time around she said, she was really happy, she was playing Deir Straights, and said "yeah, I think I really like Khorns"1 point

Is the "wall of sound" actually assembled and being used somewhere? I saw the Dead many times with portions of it (that big center array over the drum kit) in '79/'80. ..............So where is it? If it's at your house, your rig is bigger than mine.1 point
