  2. Nice table. Do you plan on using this table outside? Yes it will eventually make its way to the back deck so I can drink coffee out there and enjoy the view.

  3. CEC Carl L the new mod here on the forum gave me my avatar when I joined 2 years ago now. I had a tarantula(tarantula represented soundstream car audio to me and meant something to me due to the tarantula amplifier and all the other killer soundstream audio I used in my teen years) as an avatar and everybody said it was freaky so I switched it. My last name is beeker. Through the years I raced 1/8 scale rc cars and on the forums I always used(I think its actually spelled beaker) beakers pic with my name. Anyhow the first time I put beaker/beeker on as an avatar I remember my ex wife and I laughing to death about the way he looked. Now days on this forum(one of the only forums I use these days) iv gotten quite a few pm's mentioning how beaker/beeker was their favorite muppet and they always looked forward to the muppets just to see him. Iv actually had to dig up old videos of him to understand him a bit more in the whole beeker perspective cause he was just a couple years before my time. He is a hoot lol I remember running around from high school through college people wanting or wondering about meeting me with my name. Im actually just as unusual as the muppets beeker lol if you meet me you wont have any idea what im talking about haha cheers

  4. The 64ii sound great with them imo. But I bet a 3rd 7 would be the sh.t. Sadly not an easy fit for most systems.

  8. I agree here is what I am using, it looks nice. Sound wise I couldn't tell you, but for the cost and fun making them they work great. http://diyaudioprojects.com/Power/Low-Inductance-DIY-Speaker-Cables/ You should be able to get these supplies easily anywhere.

  9. That was my first exposure to disillusionment. I watched practically religiously and that woman never, I mean never, saw me in that mirror. From an early age I knew that things were not quite right. I grew to hate her for it. I would lay serious money she was not a Raiders fan.

  10. I drive my rf-63 with a emotiva xpa-5. I have dual subs but don't use them for music because the rf-63 simply has plenty of thump without them. I do believe any speakers sound better with a quality external amp.

  18. I have heard the 7's and 7 II's. Slight difference due to different xo points. Both are fine speakers and unless doing a direct A/B comparison in the same room, it would be difficult to pick one over the other. At high volume the original 7 may be shrill to some in the HF. A 20 min. modification and a $2.00 resistor will correct most of that. I have the 7's and really like them.

  19. I have heard many modern receivers like Pioneer, denon, HK, onkyo; although non have been the flagship model or super high end and they all sound ok at best. Power rating are somehow over rated, i just dont like how they sound once volume knob passes half way, poor build quality, they sound thin, not as detailed, to me. If you get your self a recapped marantz, sansui, pioneer (just to name a few) i think they offer superior sonics and build quality. I have a NOS valve restored fisher 500c and this thing sounds jaw dropping good. You can get your self one of these fisher on ebay say for 400-500 on ebay, send it to Craig at NOS valve for like another ~500 (depending on what you want done to it) have it restored and with fairly efficient speakers i think VERY hard to beat. Same for these other SS receivers. Well worth the research and little work done to find your self a good tech, if unit has not been restored yet. These are my 2 cents. Alex

  20. The HP 2000 must have been the current "flagship" model, rated at 120 wpc. I found a "sold" listing for an HP 1000 (60 wpc) that was sold for parts at $150 +shipping. There must surely be some kind of value in my unit? This thing is BEAST however and shipping is going to be brutal on the wallet. My bathroom scale measured 44 pounds. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251624921307?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

  21. Klipsh SWV Subwoofer FOR #40 Absolutely NO AFFILIATION lol The description tells the story For sale is a Klipsh SWV Subwoofer. The speaker works great but does cut occasionally, when it does that I normally move it around or hit the top lightly and it begins to work again. This is a great sub woofer when it is working and I'm selling it for a great price. Cash only http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/ele/4634011411.html

  23. Hey Chuck--if you see your lady friend again and she wants to know if you’re a hippie ... I buy stuff from this place called The Hippie Shop. I recently had stuff delivered to my office. I’m one of those guys that has to open something immediately upon receipt…so i did (clothes and a wallet). In the bottom of the box were two peace sign lollipops. Gave one to this gal at work and told her, “I shop at The Hippie Shop, so i can't guarantee that these aren’t laced with something.” She smiled and said, “we can only hope.” So order something online and you’ll get some peace sign lollipops---they’re good ice breakers.

  24. Some speakers can be clustered. Is it ideal? No, but neither is not having enough capability in the center channel for whatever reason. Does it work in a real application? Yes. As mentioned first, some pairs can be clustered if need be....with negligible effects. Can this be done with the RC3-II? Not in the horizontal plane. It's a D'Appolito. I think Beeker's got the right idea adjusting levels.

  26. In all fairness, has any other speaker manufacturer come up with a "revolutionary" speaker recently? Not to say that it can't be done, but speakers rarely hit that revolutionary level. Slight improvements seem to be more realistic expectations. Regardless, I believe what Amy said in that there will be some exciting news. I don't think she would say that if it were not the case. I'm remaining optimistic on this one.

  37. Looking at your avatar, if that were a pine tree, the puppy would be stuck there. Funny you said that. Just opened a card and it showed a couple dogs looking at another dog stuck to a fire hydrant while hosing on it, and said 'Wow, and I thought getting your tongue stuck to metal was bad'.

  39. Our Grandson, standing by the Klipsch museum in Hope, also sitting on the door to the Anechoic chamber. This was in 2010, he is 14 now. He has been to three pilgrimages and two klipsch tours of the plant, one of our Granddaughters has been to one Pilgrimage also. They all listen to music, whether they want to or not but they love it. My daughter came inside and got me the other day and said come see quick, Rylee who is 8 was sitting outside singing "get up stand up, stand up for your rights" Her bigger sister Allie 13 loves Bob Marley and reggae music, don't know where they got that from ? All of our kids and now there kids have grown up with music since they were born, I don't care if they get into audio as long as they get into music.

  42. I know you hear it. They do grow so fast. Its awesome to see time done well. Time with our kids is the finest choice possible. Kids are just the best. Regardless how we look at it they are the better and more improved us. Or at least that's my theory. Great topic. If I could figure it out id post a video of my kid in a play. She is hilarious. She was recently the restaraunt owner in footloose semi locally and had the crowd laughing histerically. Every day its something else or something new with kids.

  47. Oh man, I had forgotten that! What a PITB it was to put thick grease on the top and bottom, line up those stupid little ball bearings, then try to squeeze everything together! The balls would squirt out, and then you had to start all over again! Those were NOT good memories!
