I was updating the diaphragms in my KLF-30s and found one of the mid drivers had slipped and pinched the coil. Couldn't come up with a way to realign and glue it. Moray James offered his spare and a diaphragm. He also introduced me to dynamat. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful folks on this forum and I think many will agree that Moray James exemplifies that. Outstanding!

We got to go fishing this morning and had a blast catching Striped Bass on spoons at a lake near the house. Pictured are me and my son Auston with two of the fish we caught. The largest being about 15 lbs. Who loves to fish here?

Rainy here today and going to get in the 20s the next couple of days Just made a large pot of chili (without beans) using half ground beef and half ground turkey. May have to try some during the Panthers/Seahawks game at 1:00. My bud bluesboy who now lives in Washington state is a Seahawk fan and of course I like the Panthers. He has had to adjust to Sunday morning football due to the time difference. No time to smoke ribs prior to a 10:00 am game at his place LF and I are in the early stages of thinking about building a cabin in a development called Heartwood near Boone and just into Tennessee. An old friend of mine is the developer. 5 acre lots. Lot of interesting plans on line. This would of course mean kicking up the relationship a notch or two I'll keep you posted. Some bass from one of our tanks out at the ranch in TX. Killer day fishing! Rooster fish from Costa Rica fishing trip, got into some Marlin's that day too. A bonida and a trigger fish from an Atlantic Reef fishing trip in Bermuda. Trigger fish fight like hell!

That's what we call a toad around here. Our state record is 10 lbs 14 ounces, so we don't get anything like that. This was my biggest bass ever 8 lbs 12 ounces.

I spoted him through the window Robby the Robot..... He was in this toy store...I have heard about this toy store and he was there.... So I figured let me check him out and get a pic of him....he was cool... now he's not the "real" Robby just a replica..... but was cool... MKP :-)

I've often thought this as well. At least a "thanks" would suffice. It's amazing looking at the members list, and seeing how many start a profile and never post. I guess that's better than some that become a member just to sell something. ….that they "found" cruising the alerts section BEFORE joining. Note: There were quite a few Lascalas on CL about 2 weeks back, and even some in the black dress OP mentioned. PM's to OP were unanswered. Due to the "one & done", and no serial numbers, I see no reason to assist further - (add) with this incident.

I just looked up Heartwood and there sure seems to be a lot of great views. Wish you best on what you decide.

Moray James is a fine example of the many helpful, kind, generous people on this forum. Too many members to even begin naming have done such kind things for dtel and I! We have been the recipients of so many kind gestures, including being gifted two brand new receivers, Hersey IIs, Harmon Kardon receiver and on and on!! The HK receiver was actually a wedding vow renewal gift to power the Cornwall III speakers we won while attending a Klipsch Pilgrimage in Hope, AR. The greatest gift we have received are the lifelong friendships we have made as a direct result of being members of this forum. While the material gifts are appreciated and cherished, those friendships are the most cherished. One and done. It's interesting how often someone seeks advice from this forum and never again posts. Perhaps we need to change toothpastes or improve our hygiene. Our collective wisdom is always spot on, so one would think at least a single reply would be forthcoming.

Maybe not...we never know why certain things happen the way they do but Shaun, his family as well as I believe God can take bad things and bring good things from them. Shaun is now able to spend precious time every day with his wife and two daughters. Through this, he has had the opportunity to spend some very wonderful times with his Dad and friends as they have rallied by his side to complete this project. He "should" have died....but he didn't. 1 in 10 people survive the type of stroke he had, yet he not only lived through 3 of them, he isn't a vegetable, he isn't paralyzed, and he can still bathe, feed, and for the most part, live a pretty normal life. He does have some challenges. His balance is sometimes off. He isn't able to drive. It's difficult for him to be in a crowd because it's difficult for him to focus on one conversation when a lot of other things are happening. He can no longer participate in the "active" things that he loved to do (ie jump off a 60' cliff into 40' of water, wakeboarding, snowboarding etc). He wasn't able to go skydiving with me on my 40th birthday. But Shaun doesn't focus on what he can't do....he embraces and enjoys what he can do. We talk very frankly about his condition and we both agree he can either get depressed and cry about it or laugh about it. We choose to laugh about it (trust me there is a lot of humorous things that happen as a result of the strokes). He's truly an incredible friend and one of the most selfless persons I know. We don't have to feel sorry for him, he's still living and breathing and enjoying the life he has been given. There still is a plan and a purpose for his life...it just has some new challenges.

Top notch there Tarheel with LF. Now that I was up in area of the Smokeys and such, I really dig on the place, especially when I was there in the summertime, with the cool nights on a mountain versus damn humidity on wheels down here. Mark, I am almost positive your apple pie moonshine is closer to the real article. Last I tried it the top was swigged and I got a psychic high off of it. Thanks for the pics Gary, and the many others who contribute to the cause. Speaking of which, when in an ABC Liquor store up in the mountains, I could not begin to believe all the flavors of shine these days. My first recollection of shine adventure was with Alabama shine, which was very good and mellow enough with the recc. chaser, a beer. Awhile later I was turned on to what I think was N. Florida shine. Very good as well, and soon though, I was higher than a Georgia pine and quite liberated with my tongue, saying about whatever I wanted. About like what sodium pentathol must be like(truth serum). This evening, I plan to have another 6 pack of Stella, as I must be going through a phase with the stuff. I find it excellent, with no downside other than it tends to go quickly. Need to get a bottle of Schnapps in the house for such times, for a little topper off. Much more that I could say but for now, I will let it stand as is. Now after a couple or three, I may be back. Coffee still tasting good. You dudes AND gals make me feel like family, even if I do not post as much as in recent past. Cheers then... Oh BTW, wanted to stop in Gatlinburg for a shine sample or 2 but, the gals were with us and we went for lunch at some semi-famous restaurant higher up, the name of which escapes me. Looked for all the world like a semi-street party down the main road through Gatlinburg. So much to see and do. Maybe next time!

After being let down, it's easy to see why anyone would be reluctant to help, especially someone on their first post. However, I am willing to bet that most of the regular members on this forum won't change their ethics or character because of one and dones.

Good morning- Nice photo USNRET. Thanks for sharing it. The sound of halyards slapping against aluminum masts triggers a Palovian response of nostalgia for the time spent sailing in my youth. A flagpole can produce the same sensation. The odd thing is that none of the small boats I raced had aluminum spars. Halyards hitting wood just doesn't evoke the same response. But, time spent around sailboats inevitably means the clang of halyards against aluminum. Sounds and smells have a way of triggering pleasant memories.

Ok I know that picture looks fishy, it was almost dark, cold and I just took 2 pics in a hurry. He estimated it to be about 6-7 pounds, I thought a little more but he has more experience than me with bass, it was nice This is the other picture, Kevin has a video somewhere after it was caught and him releasing it. I use to fish every weekend, saltwater, mostly for Speckle Trout and Redfish, mostly in Delacroix island, Shell beach, Hopedale, Point la hache, and a little in Venice, all in South Louisiana. Good evening all.... Gary.....nice pics, looks like the tv install went well.....good job my man... Had to go into the shop for about an hour or so....finished up some work for the used car guys... Me and BOSS were just locking up when this old Honda Accord rolled up in the lot....My buddy that runs the local junk yard called me about this car at the end of last year...He said he was going to tow it in and have me work on it. The car belongs to a friend of his and has been in a garage for the last 15+ years. It's rust free and in really great shape. Well he was right this thing is in great shape....it's a blast from the past....it's been years since I worked on something this old....I still have special Honda tools for those old CVCC engines.... This should be fun.....1979 Honda Accord....and this one is a Hondamatic modle....it's a auto trans but you have to start in 1st gear then just shift up to 2nd....yea man....can't wait to jump into this.... Live from Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis and his jazz players, streaming to my laptop, into a new DAC through the Khorns ;0) Sounding great, and there are 450 of us watching right now... Thanks guys.............. It was a fun and quick project actually... Ceptor, I have white wire loom which enclosed the black HDMI and for the AC, added a brand new white extension cable... All is neatly threaded through the cable holder on the mount with extra to fully extend and also fold back when needed. I will simply run the cables together straight down into the audio rack... I will look into enclosing them with channeling at some point to complete the job.. After the concert, there was an hour break, then a whole NEW audience filled the first floor of the concert hall and different musicians and conductor entered the stage.. That was beginning at 10pm. Berlin time..........after a while, spotted a watch on one of the French Horn players, and sure enough, it was 10:25pm. by that time.. I took the time to make the final adjustments, diminish or shut off any 'enhancements'.... It was set to 'cool' color temp from the factory. Got used to it at first, but ended up being too strong in the blue tones and lighting they had... Found the 'natural' mode, and that really did the trick and took the blue cast off the skin tones. Happy with it now. For the ULTRA HD and the new HDCP (new spec. HDMI) inputs, I will need a bluray player or watch the included Netflix app. that uses this new high res technology... All for now...... Time to make a nice from scratch mushroom risotto for dinner....... .....Gary

Finally pulled the trigger on a DAC. Ordered today - expected later in the week.

Ha! I was tearing up writing it. Anyone that knows me knows that's from the heart. There just aren't enough words!!! Sometimes less is more!!! Morning all..... Working on 2nd cup.....just chillin watching a movie.....not a whole lot planned other than going up to moms a do more stuff.....always more stuff..... Looks like I had a double post with the Accord.....opppps.... Yea Chuck.....take that relationship up a notch......the cabin sounds awsome my man...very cool... It's been a lot easer for me to load pics on the forum....I figured how to use my tablet/scan tool....I can take a pic with the tablet and upload them from my gallery...I'm always learning new things about this scanner....it's bad a$$.... Very nice, all sons should have days like that, it's some of the things he will never forget. Some nice looking fish everyone posted, makes me want to fish more. It has always been fun, even the small ones.

That is the right product for Duratex, but you will need the quart to do two LS inside and out as two coats will be needed. Wears well but does give an industrial look. Thin with a little water to tone that down. Good instructions on PE for different finish looks. I like the roller it comes with but I would spring for an additional 4" version for the exterior. Less work, less "seams" on the paint job. Jimjimbo did some that turned out very nice. I don't have very good pics, but here are a couple before and after adding trim.

I acknowledge this will sound sexist and/or cliched, but being found to be not PC won't deter me. After our morning coffee, I asked my bride of 32 years if she'd like to go out for breakfast. Her responses were, "I would have to get ready; where would we go; I'll make pancakes." I should have stopped at pancakes. But no, I wanted to spare her the effort to prepare breakfast and clean up afterward. I assured her she looked fine for public viewing. I reminded her of the dozens of suitable breakfast places within a ten minute radius. Why is it a man can throw on clothes and be out the door in seconds, whereas a woman needs preparations suitable for a mission to Mars? To compromise, being ever the epicurean, I offered to go to McD's for a couple of Big Breakfasts to go. Before you suggest it, me preparing breakfast was not an option. I was prepared to toil over a hot steering wheel, but not to prepare a meal and clean up. To go through the McD's drive through, one need barely get dressed. I was on my way to the Golden Arches within seconds. After placing my order, I got in line behind a woman in a BMW suv (apparently too large for her to handle) attempting to parallel park it next to the payment window. Eventually, she got close enough and then proceeded to strike the car's door against the building. Minutes passed, Dialogue was taking place between driver and cashier. The driver handed her phone to the cashier. The cashier could be seen entering data on the phone's screen. This went on for some time. Apparently the woman was trying to pay with bit coins, a "speed" pass or a similar form of "convenient" technology with which she was not yet fluent. By this time, a line had formed behind me. A driver in line was heard to suggest, "Perhaps it would be better to experiment inside, rather than in the drive through at a fast food restaurant." I've paraphrased the suggestion, as this is a family forum. The woman must have taken the hint, as then actual US currency appeared to be exchanged. She pulled forward. By now my order had been bagged for quite some time. I could have been home by now, but for the entertainment unfolding before me. The cashier apologized for the delay. I reminded her it wasn't her fault, gave her exact change and pulled away, only to come upon the BMW stopped smack in the way. The driver looked up and pulled out of the way. Nothing had prevented her from stopping elsewhere so as to not block traffic. Perhaps "fast food" restaurants with drive though lanes need to designate a cash only lane, as done on toll roads.
