  1. Of course....he says I'm right and no one wants to quote his words. I see how it is. Seriously, thank you all. It's been a long process. Lesson learned....always follow your gut instinct and always thank God for good friends. We are truly blessed to be a part of this forum and to have made such good friends. Christy

  2. Update, since there is new news. And Christy told me I was chicken sheet to not let people here know what's going on....Christy was not happy from the beginning after reading what this medicine does. What happened after having a biopsy done, and being prescribed a certain cancer medicine. A friend, Kevin Harmon had questions about the biopsy and medicine, we answered all we knew and he said he would ask some doctor friends of his which he did. He also said to send JC a message and ask what he thinks. Jc asked friends of his as did kevin and all of them came back saying "why this medicine"? So this was like 3-4 different doctors, including Oncologist, Surgeons and other doctors who know about what I have and and the medicine prescribed. All of them said this medicine is for someone who has multiple spots of this cancer and definitely not for just one spot. Well a couple of the doctors recommended to us a doctor who has a great reputation 45 minutes from us, her opinion matched the other 4 doctors. So we just got back from seeing her and supposedly it has been removed, which is what seems to be normal treatment for this, we go back in a couple of months for her to check it. Not the medicine which has some bad side affects like the worst, making any other possible cancer cells become aggressive, with lesser affects like losing hair and feeling sick of the stomach all the time and a few others. So it turns out that two forum members helped me avoid a rough medicine and hopefully be done with this. I doubt they will read this but I just wanted to say Thank you to both Kevin and JC, and as soon as I see them in person I will make sure they know how much I really appreciate them taking their time and asking questions to the others that specialize in this. Come to find out the first doctor I went to is not a board certified Dermatologist, and prescribes this medicine more than any other in the region. We never think to check credentials, this doctor has 6 different offices so we thought everything was ok, not really what happened. Just for a note the medicine was going to be free through this doctor (somehow) but normal cost is $75,000 for 4 months and 4 other doctors said it's not right for my situation at all. So I told everyone here, as to not be chicken sheet as my wife called me, she said they are your friends, you talk with them everyday, I got called a few names for being quite, so there it is.

  9. Just bought some brand new RF7s and a RC64 center to match. I'm gonna get the reference premiere surrounds as soon as the budget allows... But as for these speakers, they're riduclous. Just the right kind of ridiculous, too. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk

  10. Kentucky. Kentucky is a border state to West Virginia which should give them the edge. +++ Yeah this was one of my"locks of the night." Wrong again. Because of my trivial rant the other day about how the announcers continued to mis-pronounce "Xavier" the wrong way every other time, I couldn't help but notice they finally got it right every single time. Someone other than me must have noticed because the word got out and they corrected their mistake. There is no "X" in Zavier!

  12. Goes into the category of "too much poise." +++ WVU lost just the way I predicted. Close game at the end, couldn't make free throws, did not have a "go to" shooter. Zags got a great 3-pointer late to win the game. I'm gonna be sick.

  14. Maby a puppy but I would vote for a human first if it's necessary at all , but it wouldn't matter if you meant to offend, we just won't listen, probably don't half the time anyway, see the forum is kind of like a spouse.

  17. Still have kinks...but... they seem to be bumps in the road and not full out road blocks. Had the Danley hooked into the system when it was 2-channel. Every now & then it played something. Wife actually said something one day to the effect of "You need to get rid of that...why did you even get that....you never use it...." Fast forward...replace preamp with AVR, plug XLR into sub-out into Crown K2 into Danley... Last night, I put on the Blue Man Group DVD. It played along and the bass output was a whole notch higher...and then we hit some song (forget which) but it had some nasty (I mean nasty in a good way) bass content and she really freaked out... The picture on the wall was swaying (according to her), the (what I believe to be antique) porcelain dogs were "about to fall off", (then she grabs me by the shirt and pulls me outside and says "LISTEN!!" (while pointing through a window....but actually, she was pointing AT the window) "That window was vibrating like "this" (do the two handed pump up in the air....not that I know how a window can do that, but it's what she said and demonstrated) "and it was getting ready to shatter!" Each one of these is of course bringing out a slightly larger & larger smile in me....as this was my intent... not to break the glass mind you....but to feel it. So NOW, instead of saying "you should get rid of it because I never use it...." NOW, I have to get rid of it because it's going to cause the house to cave in... I can't win. I must however say.... this is the first time I've been able to flex it a bit and "OMG" it's unreal. I guess it will never happen but it would have been downright pulverizing to have the second one fired up. Though I "get it" with regard to their size.... I'm surprised and near shocked the one for sale in the Garage Section is still there. These really are beasts!! I have to go now.... I have to hunt more of her things that I can setup in the room to smash with sonic assaults.....

  25. Understood, but I gave you one. A guy has to stick with his hometown team. I have only seen NC play once this year but I do know Butler has a huge task ahead of them. Now if Blue III was allowed into the arena the mojo would be on Butlers side. #FreeBlue3

  26. Keep in mind that he stated "in my area"...which means he can do a local pickup instead of needing to pay for shipping...or needing to drive a long way to get them...Shipping can run another 100 bucks to way more than that...and...driving a long distance to get them can be as costly or more than the shipping costs. Also, "in my area" means that he can go look at them/listen to them prior to the purchase commitment. Sometimes it is just BETTER all the way around to suck up the extra item-cost of a local purchase item than it is to wait for a lower price elsewhere.

  29. Well I'm a Tarheel fan now. I'd like to see my conference champ Kansas make it into the finals where I expect North Carolina to be waiting. If NC can make it out of that brutal south bracket I don't see the other semi winner stopping them.

  31. After today at work I would love a cocktail. Wife is taking a computer class at the local community college and the daughter is at a track meet. I am on standby to pick up said youngster with no scheduled time to collect her. Wife is due out of class in 5 minutes, if no word from kiddo soon I am popping the top and assigning driver duty to the bride. It's Thursday with 60+ hours already in this week and working thru the weekend. Sure is handy to be salaried.

  37. I was having some coffee with an old friend this morning and he mentioned needing to haul a bunch of crud out of his storage unit to the thrift store. Long story short, He gave me a Jamo 7.2 center channel speaker, a Denon AVR-1312 (with remote but missing the volume knob), and a KSW-10! A little rough around the edges, but it all works !

  42. Note that the tractrix horns provided by Klipsch are not "tractrix horns" per se. They are modified tractrix horns. That means that they're designed for a very special set of properties. Note that none of the above profiles that were posted are the same as the Klipsch modified tractrix profile. All frequencies handled by the horn/driver of the two different horn designs (exponential vs. modified tractrix) are not affected by the same amount. Generally, the lower the frequency, the more audible will be the difference, although the modified tractrix horns also have a wider coverage angle at high frequencies, which will also affect the overall sound. There is math involved and a little physics, but specifically the modified tractrix horn will sound more neutral and have a more consistent coverage angle vs. frequency. It will sound better from a wider variety of listening azimuths and elevations than the exponential--eliminating the "head in a vise" stuff. You can move around your room a great deal more and still hear the same timbre/soundstage. The most notable differences have been the exponential midrange horns of the Klipsch Heritage series vs. the modified tractrix horns--the K-510 and the K-402, and the other modified tractrix designs on the Forte II, Chorus II, Quartet, etc. Other Klipsch loudspeakers now use modified tractrix like the K-510 and the K-402, only typically much smaller and crossed over usually at a higher frequency. Many of these "home theater" loudspeakers have 90x90 degree coverage angles, instead of the 90 x 60 degree coverage of the K-510 and K-402. Chris
