  1. This is in a neighborhood with Million dollar homes. Seem to have read that Ford wheels are especially prone to this sort of theft.

  3. I like that one, but my favorite is a toss up between Demons and Wizards...and Sweet Freedom.....AND their LIVE album "Uriah Heep Live"...a double disc album....surprisingly good for a live recording in those days! I have always really loved "Stealin" from Sweet Freedom...it reminds me of my old Paratrooper days...young, single and CAREFULLY playing the field...LOL!

  19. Well kind of both, going back to Hope to work on the museum, Volunteer of course. The bad part, about 7 hours each way, the good part is we will be with friends until Sunday when we leave. That would be nothing for a truck driver or someone who drives alot for work, but it seems the older I get the less I like to drive/ride. But your right, being with my wife and going to be with friends makes it easier. It probably wouldn't feel so bad but just a few days ago we drove to 5 hours to North Louisiana to watch our youngest daughter graduate and walk across the stage, our last of 3 girls to graduate from college, she is going to be a teacher for special ed kids. Now we have to go back the same route but 2 hours further, I'm not complaining but I do love to be home.

  20. A given room and gear can only equal so much perfection. Proper integration of mains and subs= This is an image of perfection and unity. This should sound good and be slightly different in multiple setups. Since there is no one perfect time alignment, this represents the best that can be achieved in X room with Y gear and Z correction(EQ and room TX, ect.) with multiple subs. The circle represents the HT and good bass. The spike are the negative aspect of the calibrations and HT due to being close to walls, suck outs from door or hallway open, asymmetry and what ever else in the room that prevents the perfect response. Unless you are in an anechoic chamber or free field with no wind or atmospheric changes, you for the most part are dealing with this diagram. Even the work by Harman and Geddes has to be taken into perspective and the room that their findings are based one type of room or a room built for good acoustical sound. Horn subs are no exception. Sound wave physics still applies. They bring their own deck of cards to the table. Just decide which deck you would rather play with. The game is the same, the expertise in setup may not be? This is an excellent topic and not easily answered in a few post and should generate good discussion. Ask more questions, refute any point that you don't agree with. This is how we all learn. Also post some graph for teaching purpose and to be educational. The subwoofer bassband is something we all can bend to our will with the right knowledge.

  21. Is it a good 'On the Road Again' or necessity driven? Being on the road for vacation, fun, is one thing, but being on the road for work, well, kind of wears me out. So many times I wished that the family was with me on my ventures. It would change the whole dynamic of the drive. If you're traveling for fun, hats off to you. If it's necessity driven, well, more power to you, it's a grind.

  23. With 8 subs I can understand why you have them set at 100 hz. Most of us will be lucky to set our mains at 80, or slightly lower, to achieve good reproduction. Your setup is sort of an anomaly compared to most. I would believe that the RF-7 III would best my KG 5.5's on a few levels. Better sonic quality over years of design, height as far as driver, axis response, and better horn design. Let's face it the RF-7 runs two active 10's versus two 8's with a larger cabinet design. The RF-7 is designed to envelope you in sound, the RP-280F is to me, a great front runner in a smaller room with HT considerations. Don't get me wrong, the RF-7 will work just as well with movies/music but for me it would be a big difference with music. My vote is for the RF-7.

  24. Yes, and Thank You both. Leaving in the AM to go back up there and do some work. Volunteer of course, Kevin H and us are going to change out the sump pump in the basement for a new model, the old pump is very old and does not always cut on, not good. It's all cement down there including the ceiling and nothing is stored, the idea is to get it to stay dry so some things can be stored down there. Once it is safe from water a dehumidifier will be added to get the humidity where it should be to use the 1500 sf space, doubling the museum. It's an old military building and all the cement is over a foot thick. Overall the museum is in great shape, probably because it was built 76 years ago by the military and is an extremely tough building, built like a bomb shelter. It's just alot of little things like with any building but we are very lucky to have such a place, any other construction would probably be falling down by now. This is what the ceiling in the basement looks like, it's why I said built like a bomb shelter.

  25. Nothing better than being home alone with your gear. Oddly, without all of the 'noise' your system sounds better. Plus, I can get on it with out being yelled at. The neighbors aren't happy when this happens. Oh well, let freedom ring, or resonate, which is what I prefer.

  26. Checking tire pressures should not be the last thing you do, it should be the first thing you do in the AM. All tire pressures are recommended at a 'Cold' rating. Best to check them in the AM when they're not warmed up. PSI will increase with heat, driving, so setting PSI when they're warm is a No-No. Believe me, it matters. I drive a ton, so forgive me for throwing a little 'Mom' at you. Just trying to keep you safe. Love, Mom.

  28. Well, at least they tried to get it up off the rotors. Thieves with a conscience, I don't think so. Leverage was their need to pilfer. Actually, kind of angers me, I hate thieves. My family was robbed 4 times in Nipomo, CA back in the day. We lived on 10 acres in a single wide mobile home, prime for the pickin'. Nothing like coming home and finding all of your stuff ransacked. You just feel dirty.

  30. I agree with this. According to Geddes, we must excite as many room modes as possible in order to smooth out the bass, especially for more than 1 seat.

  36. RP-250C at the minimum. The aluminum tweeter will sound funny with the titanium's in the RB-51. Plus the 25C is not timbre matched at all with the RB-51's. I'd also consider an RC-52, or 62 - but I'd highly recommend scratching the R-25C off the list.

  38. Tried the Jubes with various amps this month. The Yamaha P7000S amp sounded decent but the highs sounded a bit muffled. With the Crown XLI 3500 the mids and highs sounded muddy and downright terrible. With the Qsc RMX 5050a the highs sounded compressed and not very clear. With the Wyred 4 sound SX1000 monoblocks the lower mids and upper bass sounded excellent. However the highs were a bit rolled off with the Wyred4Sound amps. I received my Lab Gruppen IPD2400 amp on Tuesday. Item description says it is a bridged class d amp and not a switching mode class d. Fans on the amp are dead silent while in use. The clarity in the highs and mids is astonishing in my opinion. This is a very big deal for me because I was a staunch Class D hater for many years. However I can't deny what my ears are telling me. The highs are now crystal clear and the midrange definition is razor sharp. This is the distinguished sound I have been searching for over the last ten years. This is the sound I thought I would hear when I purchased my Jubilees however I was originally disappointed. Not anymore. I am exponentially ecstatic with the performance of these speakers now. I intend to keep them until I am six feet under. The clarity and powerful vocal reproduction from the 510 HF and 402 MF horns is amazing. I can clearly hear whispers in movies while Im in the backyard reading a book. Vocals during songs are razor sharp, clear, and powerful. These speakers can easily overpower a room with mids and treble. Their room coverage is excellent. I can sit anywhere within a 20ft wide space on and off axis and the music sounds the same. No need for toe in. No need to sit in a sweet spot. The entire room IS the sweet spot. I normally do not appreciate movie watching without a center speaker. However these speakers put out the best phantom center imaging I've heard. Room coverage is so good I might forgo buying a center speaker altogether. Im still scratching my head about the Jubilee bass bins though. With some songs, the Jube bass bins sound powerful, precise, ultra clean, and prominent. However with other songs the bass sounds like I am knocking on a thin wall with my knuckles. I am really not concerned with low bass at this time since I will be purchasing a large sub in a few months so the Jube bass bins are not a major concern for me. I will be crossing them over at 60hz once I get a sub. Overall, I just can't state enough how happy I am with this purchase. I think about them all day at work and can't wait to get home to play soul stirring songs on my playlists every evening. These speakers move me emotionally on a daily basis. And that is the hallmark of a wonderful speaker in my opinion. I would put my money on them vs. every speaker I've ever auditioned. Love their spectacular sound!
