Purchase the most economical drone you can find and turn it into a kamikaze drone5 points
-
Leaning away from the audio realm, I have to air my disdain for drones with cameras on them. Tonight, I'm in the backyard with one of my daughters and a drone comes flying above our yard, but not over our yard. We live at the back corner of an elementary schoolyard. The drone was over the schoolyard, not over my property, yet it hovers, rotates to where I can see the lens aiming at me, and holds it's position. The operator repeats this scenario a couple of more times. At this point, I want to kick somebody's a**. I want to remove the drone's ability to fly via Remington. Don't own one, but I'd buy one for this purpose. Ultimately, in my eyes, my privacy has been violated. I know we're in the age of cameras everywhere, but when is it too much? If there were drones flying around with no cameras, I'd have no issue. Every generation loses more of their civil liberties. It's OK to them because it's what they know. Remember to teach what patriotism and freedom mean. Crucial. OK, I feel better now. Back to the music. All hail Klipsch.....3 points

I remember they were not set up properly in our store and I'm sure we were using either Lafayette or realistic receivers hooked up to them. I believe they belonged to the owner because they weren't for sale. DIY speakers and CB radio were our main selling thrust.1 point

the electro motor was installed: the tailstock was painted and installed: we also built some of there rollers for wire tensioner: the tailstock feeder screw parts are also installed and the pneumatic jack is in its place: mechanical part of the project is almost completed. the wire tensioner is yet to be built. you can see how tailstock feeder works in action:1 point

Absolutely, drones are always in season. If you lived closer I would come over and do it myself for you. Great target practice..... Best regards, John1 point

To be fair, you're almost always tracked the second you hit a website. Google's done it for years with Chrome, and it did so before that any time you used their search engine to locate a website. Every website, including Klipsch, collects some data - but I'm sure you already knew that. It's been that way since...ever. The animal welfare website I maintain for the rescue my mom operates collects a good amount of data too prior to collecting personal info (that the user opts to do). We generally know what state they're in, what browser and OS they're using, if it's a phone - which one, who their ISP is - which then provides us generic demographics like age, language, and in some cases income. Then again, we don't use that...but it's what the monitors collect. As for ads...to be fair, I'd rather have ads that might be for something useful coming up, rather than something totally pointless. I mean, come on...haven't you noticed more Klipsch ads on websites and fewer Bose ones lately?1 point

wvu80 , I have the same avr as you and we tried it on my sons belles and they sounded bad, we tried 4 or 5 different avr"s and they all sounded the same. When we tried the old sony intergrated amp the belles were awesome and if I remeber right they only had 25 watts per channel1 point

Hi Wvu80 , see if you can borrow a 2 channel stereo from some one . It doesnt have to be tubes , im running a pioneer sx 780 that my son got me for christmas. But dont do it if your not planning on buying one because you will regret listening to it1 point

Your instinct to offer $500 instead of $650 for Forte was a good one. You are in the right price range for that model. I track Heritage prices so If I can help you with pricing I can send you my spread sheet. (offer is open to all Forum members, btw.) If you need pricing for KG's, RFx etc there are others here with a better feel for their value than me.1 point

From ad: 2 Beautiful to listen to and beautiful to see Klipsch Heresy Speakers 22 1/2" High 15 1/2" Wide 13 1/4" Deep HWO = Heresy Walnut Oiled Each speaker has it's own serial number Excellent Condition $400 for the pair. 847-593-2141 https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/for/6177020382.html No affiliation. Looks like a good deal. They are from the same year, 1976 (so laser tags) but not consecutive (I never hear the difference myself).1 point

This is related to other auditory phenomena such as the McGurk Effect. Sight can affect hearing by influencing the perception of auditory input. It is, however, an illusion.1 point

My experience... I sealed my Klipschorns to the wall with pipe insulation. That added noticeable low-end bass. The most notable improvement was when I went from powering them with a Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver to powering them with two Emotiva XPA-1L monoblocks and SLAM!!! Say what you want about equipment, but 75-95 db of music with the monoblocks had much more bass! More volume had ridiculous bass! The monoblocks are now on my LaScalas and I'm hearing bass I'd never heard from my LaScalas without a sub.1 point

Thanks Billy if it comes to that I'll definitely take you up on the offer .1 point

one of the tapping screw treads broke in a hole of this part so we decided to throw it away and mill a new one. it was a symmetrical part and we could sweep it 180 degree and drill the holes on the other side but we just decides to build a new one and it's gonna be a one-time-built machine: and the new one we milled this time no Iron but 7075 Aluminum: and we just put togheter this jigsaw puzzle to see how it looks like after painting. we didn't paint machines surfaces so we will always remember how accurate it was built! a machined surface speaks very loud to a machinist: this week the machine will be assembled. we are gonna work on the PLC and HMI and electric parts next week. this knitter lady should be working about ten days from now. I hope so...1 point

Good idea to try the st-70 since you already have it. I still say its the AVR.....A 24 watt 1970s HK430 should not trounce all over 110 watt INTEGRA AVR.....Set the equalizer on your avr manually and I bet it will help..... I think that's the reason a lot of times people don't like heritage line......If you can hear a pair of HERITAGE on a HK430,630,730 you will be amazed I think1 point

yes sure! sometimes you need to hold the piece with one hand and the welding torch with another hand and close your eyes for a gentle connection to hold the piece in place. you don't have to look at the ark directly it's so harmful to the ye1 point

OK, here are the standard questions.....(and probably more to follow) 1. What kind of room are you working with? Dimensions, ceiling height, rugs, furniture? 2. Type of music you listen to, and level you listen 3. Your other components. Amps, preamps, source, turntable? 4. Vinyl, CD, streaming, etc? 5. Your budget Any other info. Photos of the room.....1 point

Reading the above, it is fairly clear that this is an issue of room acoustics and geometry. Please stop spending your money to change the electronics or components on the K-Horns. Some of us would be in a better position to advise if we had some specifics about what the problems are. If at all possible do you have a friend with a setup to use REW or some of the other acoustic measurement systems. This is not a quick measure and does require some time and effort, however it provides valuable and specific information that would eliminate the guesswork. Without some measurements, you will probably just get a bunch advice about "beeswax capacitors" and the "need for tube equipment" (not that you won't get that advice anyway). Good luck, -Tom1 point

We only took the driving tour, it was raining off and on and the humidity was worse than normal. Rain then sun then steam repeatedly, plus we had to get back to Kevin's about 30 minutes away because people were coming over that evening and we need to smoke some pork loins for that night. We only stayed a few hours, one reason for wanting to go back, missed some of the videos along the tour and in the museum and we never tried the little restaurant either.1 point

Ok, so I decided to dive in warm turkey (as contrasted to cold turkey) Last night & this morning, I took my Peach apart and cleaned/lubed the pots on the front face. I've not yet plugged it back into system so have no idea if the scratchiness is gone. Decided since I was on a roll, go ahead & pull one of the Crown's out... my biggest offender happens to be the left front channel. Out it came & tossed it (gently) on the desk. Pulled up the service manual (not that I can read all of it) however, I could read where to short "T1" to "resistor 3" or something like that. Found them on the circuit panel... instructions warn that the little resistor might get warm to the touch as it bleeds down the energy (didn't happen & I shorted it a couple times to make sure I got it) None the less... pulled apart, cleaned twice...lubed...put back. I have to say, though I had to pull the front panel off and remove the board with the controls on it, overall it was very VERY easy. Now, I can hear the space between the instruments, the image has widened at least two-fold.... the micro detail is well....very micro! Cymbals sound like they're full of sheen & shimmer... flutes just float in the air... OK, so all the bold stuff is hype.... I will say, it works as advertised! All the scratches & fade outs are now gone. Sound comes on linear from zero to max loudness. Now I have two more to go... They'll go much faster now that I know how. You can see the little board that the two pots and LED's are on. They are JUST too big to come out by only taking the lid off. I had to also loosen the entire face plate and wiggle it back a bit.1 point
