Thanks for all the advice guys. I knew that an opinionated bunch like yourselves wouldn’t let me down. If i gave the impression that i was complaining about my life then i did a lousy job at communicating. I’m SO very blessed that i can’t even count all my blessings. Seriously. Like Richie said, two life-changing events happening at the same time. I’ve learnt one thing about myself thus far ... i was way more fast-paced than i realized ... and i was pretty laid back for a SoCal guy. Los Angeles, Hollywood, my old haunts in the OC are visible every time i turn on the television. I get an email or text from a friend asking how the music is coming along and i can’t just meet up for lunch and discuss it. Nothing that anyone else hasn’t experienced when they’ve moved far away. For reasons that I won’t bore you with, I’ve bounced around a lot of places in my life and always wanted a place to call home. That crazy madness of SoCal is where i lived the longest and is the closest thing that i have to a “home.” Yes, i was burnt out. Yes, I wanted the change and Yes, now i have the change. When i told a friend that i was moving he asked “why there?” I said, “because it’s not here.” And he said, “yeah; but, when you get there, you’ll still be there.” He knew me well, he knew I was trying to escape, So maybe this seclusion will turn out for the best. I’ve got a lot of projects that are unfinished and I have to learn to start liking myself again. Thank God that at least there is a Del Taco up here!5 points

Don't really see a problem here, you must be doing what you want, which is nothing, If not do something. It might not be a funk, it's just the freedom of not being required to do anything you don't want to, a little scarey at first but you will get use to it, you're still very new at it. Then you can start doing things you want to, just because you can, you have no one to answer to. You can't possibly expect to be making a change this big and not feel like something's a little off, IT IS OFF, it's nothing like you have done for years in a place completely different. But positive changes, by normal standards anyway, give it time, something you now have to spare. Relax3 points

As corny as it sounds, I am most inspired by the love of a very fine woman.3 points

But how does the 250 slightly reputable receiver sound at all levels ? I guess you were just simplifying it for Us idiots . Let me try and explain from an idiots point of view. I could hit you with a fly swatter but a hammer would be more fun3 points

I am traveling to Clarksville TN to hook up with a fellow forum member (cstrau) I met at this years Pilgrimage. Clarksville is home to Austin Peay University. Austin Peay State University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy has an observatory with a 20-inch Ritchey-Chretien telescope, featuring the same optical design as NASA’s Hubble Telescope NASA has already contacted APSU about setting up a live feed at the University’s observatory to give viewers across the country an opportunity to see the eclipse. The center of the eclipse, with maximum totality of darkness, is actually about 20 miles north of the University, but that location will only remain dark for about 10 more seconds than Clarksville. Its the three day weekend of my Birthday and its going to be a party.2 points

@Full Range That's a neat site, not seen it before. They call shims wedges and it gets a little wordy but in laymans terms it lays it out more complete than I've bothered to look for in a while.2 points

Good setup can make a lacklustre sound come alive again I love how this guide is presented - have a read and follow instructions when you change carts http://www.soundfountain.com/amb/ttadjust.html2 points

It's a new-ish one that AudioTechnica put out last year. AT-LP5. It's half-assed at best, glad I did not pay the retail price for it. Tried an AT150MLX on it and that was a fail. Got another cartridge that I just have not made the time to put on it. Nothing like my Yamaha P50 ? with the s/n ratio around 70 db that I just flat wore out.2 points

Sorry, I can't hear anymore, my speakers tend to drown out the sound of most idiots...what did you all just say?2 points

I guess I've been going about this all wrong. I shouldn't have built the UMAX 15 flat pack and coupled it with an INUKE 3000DSP to grab the low end. Apparently, I could have built a .25 cu. ft. box and ran a wicked 4" driver to hit 20 and below. I am an idiot. But my old 5.5's aren't 4 ft. tall, so, does that mean I'm not an idiot? But, the RF 7's that I want are over 4'. So, I'm an idiot again. I'm so confused. I guess Summ's the word.2 points

Thanks JohnJ. I'm a regular old guy that's put up with a lot of $hit. It's all in the attitude. I try to reject things that affect my happiness. BigStew is in a funk but he's a tuff guy. I was just trying to motivate him by telling him how bad things can be. We all should count our blessings more often. Keith2 points

I don't know what to say. Only what I listened to. Heard them in the Klipsch listening room in Hope. I should think that they would give them a fair shot in a demo. ???2 points

@BigStewMan Saw that all of these good folks have offered varying kinds of wisdom, genuinely hoping to help. I hope today is better. I'll offer from a different angle. Ever had a reset losing yourself inside a movie? If I didn't have the bucks for a road trip or another half at the time it was actually therapeutic. How `bout a whimsical, off the cuff, incredible music throughout, stacked with good actors & actresses movie. I don't even think there is one cuss-word in it. "Moonrise Kingdom" is the name of it. @T2K you're a f'n trooper, hat's off to ya. Good Luck. Your "Customer Service" flying right over his head reminded me of this flic.2 points

I don't think that you tried hard enough (to blow your Klipsch speakers)! Just crank up your "250 slightly reputable receiver" to distortion and play your "happy music loud" until you bottom out your "4 inch coppers" and shred the voice coils....you'd likely be doing your neighborhood a favor2 points

You clearly have a passion for playing guitar. Have you ever thought of teaching someone to play? I bet there are adults or kids in your area that would love to learn. Teaching and passing on knowledge is an incredible gift. Also allows you to meet new people in a new city.2 points

"Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo.....now don't tell me I've nothing to do" Steve you could bop over here to the east coast and visit awhile. I could introduce you to grits and collards. What is that physics principle "a body at rest tends to stay at rest.....a body in motion tends to stay in motion. Seriously it sounds like a case of situational depression. Exercise is a good alternative to medication. And no I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn express last night if you're wondering. You have my number.....call if you want. We can chat!2 points
