  1. These wrecks are essentially graveyards. Sacred and honoured. The notion of them being disturbed without due consideration is troubling. It is nothing short of grave-robbing. God bless their souls.

  2. Lots of miles. One owner (mid-twenties female going back and forth to college in north Texas) got her Masters and a job near the Canadian border so an AWD for her. Serviced every 3,000 miles with records. New tires and the interior is spotless. Flaws? Front and back bumpers' clear coat peeling. We bought it for $9k. Searches show about 15-18K with fewer miles. The boy is stoked.

  3. OK @Full Range I was being facetious! It's hard to tell when reading a statement. You're conversing with a long time Rush fan here. Loved Rush since before Permanent Waves came out and that was the first of a half dozen times I've seen them. Did not know that "Working Man" was them until after I heard "Trees" when it started playing on the same radio station. Imagine that; radio stations actually played music that had reasonable composition to it back then. Love Rush, but we've had the Stanley Cup for a while on the south side of the border now.

  7. Have a 4 Seasons album and some other's from that era and before. Find it interesting you at your age then, can enjoy music from awhile ago. You might want to come over sometime to Spinning Vinyl thread. See some gems over there that I am familiar with but have never heard. Anyway enjoy man, I mean Ceptorman...

  8. True Love Ways is the only one I noticed. I think that's a terrific song. I'm a huge Holly fan. I think he's the best American rocker ever. Some of his musical techniques were revolutionary at the time. He sure accomplished a lot in his short career.

  9. I like that first line. I really don't feel like I'm 54, and I don't think i look it either. I did re-marry 5 years ago, she's 11 years younger, and has 2 teenage daughters. I like to think they're keeping me young. Even though I'm currently searching for a medical prognoses, I actually feel good. I'm not on any meds, all my numbers are very good. I'm not a coffee drinker, and I don't crave caffeine. I might drink a Sprite once a week. I never cared for the taste of coffee, but will admit I tried a couple flavored coffees and they did taste good.

  11. Well if you can't remember, I can't help you with it, I lost many years myself. It's like you wake up and your old, "most of the time" I don't feel as old as I look. Had to do the math since I don't go to the reunions, about 42 for me, I went to 1. Never went back, same clowns I remembered, all boys school and I kept up with the ones I was friends with anyway.

  16. the navy should install some sort of device to alert them should the wreckage ever be moved. The Chinese have already desecrated several WWll vessles for cheap scrap iron in the recent past. Not their navy or sailors, they don't and never gave a crap but we already knew that. That's a lot of free steel and other valuable scrap metals and copper wire. These people are not our friends or our allies they are simply people who do business and who are willing to put up with us to take our money past that there never was anything. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/08/asia/world-war-two-ships-battle-of-java-sea/ http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/16/asia/indonesia-ww2-ship-wrecks-disappear/ https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/239699-world-war-ii-warships-submarines-stolen-off-ocean-floor

  22. Three decades ago I was the envy of my friends when I had four Bose 901s. I even hung them from chains at both ends of the living room. Good times listening to music videos on Sony Beta tapes. But I realized I was missing bass, then I wondered where the treble was. I realized there was no magic in those 901s, that 9 midrange drivers only produced midrange sound. So next came 2 LaScalas, 5 Heresys, an Academy, and finally 1967 Khorns. My ears were the persuasion to Buy Other Sound Equipment.

  26. Not for me, it's the taste. When we go out of town for a week sometimes I never drink coffee, and it had me curious why I didn't have a problem going to 0 caffeine. So I tried decaffeinated coffee and had no problem, until one daughter stayed for a week and asked what was wrong with the coffee, she drank twice as much as usual and was missing the caffeine.

  32. modern version of the "track" despite having only 170bhp/184ft in stock form, it's relatively easy to bolt on a stage 1 ECU tune and get to 230whp/270ft... add a factory turbo upgrade from the 2.0l engine and get to 302hp/325ft, with AWD this thing launches like a mofo.

  33. I believe that members kept on leaving The second album was a commercial failure and Colombia dropped the band They were preparing for a third album when that happend and it never eventuated Some time later the master tapes were stolen and a bootleg album was released followed in 1994 by a record company release I believe that they still tour

  35. Thank you. Nothing against Buddy Holly, but he died in 1959, when most of this group was ten. The playlist is not intended to entertain a wide age group; it's intended to remind those who were in high school from 1964 - 1967 of the music from that specific time period. With the exception of two songs, The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Runaway, the songs are from that narrow time period. The task was to distill the music to a nearly manageable 218 songs. That period included the beginning of the "British Invasion" by the likes of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Zombies, Yardbirds, Dave Clark Five, et al. There was no place, as well as no need, for the great music of Buddy Holly, and other greats before or after that narrow period. The Lion Sleeps Tonight was included at the specific request of my friend, and Runaway was included by me because Del Shannon is from Coopersville, Michigan, and one of his hits, Keep Searchin', was from the narrow time window, plus, I like it. I frequently enjoy Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, and other musicians from before 1964 or after 1967, but that wasn't the assignment.

  37. Tomorrow I travel to Frankenmuth to again provide music for a 50th HS reunion. After my own 50th a few weeks ago (see post linked below), I'm not making the mistake of dragging La Scalas to this one. My DIY boombox and my son's Faux-Pro Heresys will be more than sufficient for everything from background music to loud and clear dance music. A pdf of the playlist is attached. playlist_pp_1-3.pdf playlist_pp_4-5.pdf

  38. Absolutely. With variety you gain experience. I've heard Focals & Martin Logans and both had me scratching my head as they were to analytical when it came to speech. Words pronounced perfectly which had me asking myself "who talks like that?" Much like today's razor sharp tv. Nothing in nature looks that bladed. But some speakers have gotten to a point of such quickness it's become clinical. But who am I kidding even when I give praises of my Wharfedales Denton's upon listening to music. The artist & instruments aren't supposed to sound "rich, laid back, warm". Live music is hardly ever warm & rich or laid back. Some music, sure. But not a majority of them. With Klipsch, they allowed the artist to simply breath whenever they would sing. Uncolored. Same with musical instruments. Be it in an orchestra or live venue I hear reverberation. A mixing of instruments with the surrounding elements. Good or bad this is what Klipsch gives you effortlessly. I'll stay with my Klipsch Belle's for the foreseeable future . I'll tweak them here & there and will have to as components wear but they will always be Klipsch in my heart.

  43. Summer ContemplationI Mowed the lawn today, and after doing so I sat down and had a couple of nice cold beers. The day was really quite beautiful, and the brew facilitated some deep thinking on various subjects. After a period of meditation, I thought about the age old question:Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts? Women have always maintained that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts.Well, after another beer, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with the answer to that question:Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby. The reasoning behind my conclusion is as follows:A couple of years or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child."But NEVER will you hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."

  44. 'Bless me Father, for I have sinned.I have been with a loose girl'.The priest asks, 'Is that you, little Joey Pagano ?'Yes, Father, it is.''And who was the girl you were with?''I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation'."Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or laterso you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?'I cannot say.''Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?''I'll never tell.''Was it Nina Capelli?''I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.''Was it Cathy Piriano?''My lips are sealed.''Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?''Please, Father, I cannot tell you.'The priest sighs in frustration.'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself.'Joey walks back to his pew,and his friend Franco slides over and whispers,'What'd you get?''Four months vacation and five good leads

  45. I was in Costco, pushing my shopping cart around, when I collided with a young guy also pushing a cart.I said to the young guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."The young guy said, "That's OK. It's just a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate. Then I said, "Well, maybe we can help each other. What does your wife look like?"The young guy said "Well, she is 24 years old, tall, with long blond hair, green eyes, long legs, big boobs and she's wearing tight white shorts, a halter top and no bra. What does your wife look like?"I said, "Doesn't matter. Let's look for yours."

  46. A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington , DC.Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls down the window and asks, "What's going on?" "Terrorists have kidnapped Congress, and they're asking for a $100million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them all in gasoline andset them on fire. We are going from car to car, collecting donations.""How much is everyone giving, on average?" the driver asks. The man replies, "Roughly a gallon".
