  2. When you look at "high end" loudspeakers from other manufacturers, Jubs really aren't that big, and are much, much less obtrusive than those other monsters, since they fit into the corners of the room: Chris

  3. Was going to post this before @Trentster5172 chimed in: I went to Pocatello Idaho to hear a dialed in pair in a home environment. I was on the way back home from my trip to Wyoming for the solar eclipse. Of course I heard the pair at Rodney's this past April but Rodney's clubhouse is far from a home environment And yea I dug'em. I'm saving up my pennies. Better half was with me, she says when(if) we get a pair of these something has to go. Negotiations continue. Just hope when my funds are available they're still the best speaker Klipsch never made. Also they're going to have to be "dolled up" somehow, but that's just me.

  4. Cory you definitely have my business for future purchases if it happens to be something you sell. Out of all the audio guys I've bought from you are the most honest, helpful, and likable! Oh and you give the best deals too!

  5. I'm glad to see a person like you supporting them Cory...! Thanks, miketn Very true, and not just the Jubilees, the whole klipsch line. At a time when you can not find any or very few real audio stores and even fewer people you can trust to steer you in the right direction if you had no idea what you need, there are very few like Cory. He rarely if ever even says he's a dealer, but is recommended by many just because of how he is. He will give you good advice, can be trusted and it seems to be more interested in what's best for the customer over a sale or commision. This is rare these days. He would have had the same reputation back when there were many audio stores, just because of how he does business. Been watching him since he got into this, and only talked with him at Pilgrimages, but I keep up with what he is doing from reports from facebook, customers, Roy and good words from people up the chain at Klipsch, he's doing it right, how it should be done. This makes him stand out, maby not popular with other dealers but if that's the case, they can only blame themselves. And no Cory, I'm not kissing up, it's the facts, and I am not the only person noticing.

  6. Ya know... my interpretation of that is it's an honest heart-felt opinion.... (and frankly, true) That said, there was once a day when giving an honest felt opinion like that, would have brought on an attack by some others. Ironically, most of those doing the attacking back then did so without never having heard the Jubilee's. It's kind of nice seeing you be able to say that without a bunch of crap being thrown at you.

  9. They're absolutely desire able as far as I'm concerned. My biggest problem is room. I have one room and one room only that could be used for these or K-horns. The problem is that's where I have my HT. I've put so much time, effort and money into getting it just right and it's virtually perfect. I'd end up replacing the front 3 speakers AND the cabinet all the gear is in. The price of admission for me would be much more than the speakers themselves. I'd also need money for the divorce lawyer.

  11. If the phone lines\cable tv lines\elec. lines can be buried, and they are, there's no reason why you can't bury your SAT line. Wrap up any connections best way you know how to waterproof them, and bury the damn line. I hate those lazy installers that just wanna route the line the quickest way they know how. It's all part of the FREE installation that you're not going to complain about. Personally, I made the guy run it through the soffit area nearest the dish, and down the walls. I wasn't about to let Joe Dirt drill a hole through my exterior wall. He complained, up until the time I told I'm I'd tip him if he did a clean job.

  12. Klipschorns. See Chris A's post. Plant some bushes, trees outside the bay window at various distances, and park the car somewhere else?? If you can't park it somewhere else, build a rustic country garage to match the house, and plant bushes in front of it. Think of the outside world visible from the bay window as a painting ... paint away. The tin ceiling may actually contribute some nice, complex reverberation. Give it a try. You are fortunate to have a high ceiling, and that the livest part is in the back. High ceilings are good with Khorns. Your room proportions may actually fit within Bolt's polygon, a good thing. Few do. Since your room is long and wide and high enough, I can see the future .... a projector on a high rear shelf ... a retractable acoustically transparent screen (Seymour) that comes down in front of the bay window , extending from Khorn to Khorn ... a small but excellent center speaker mounted just above the window, in the center, of course ... since you wouldn't want to waste your projection bulb (even if rated at 3,000 hours) on the TV news or Jeopardy, a TV that rises up out of the floor ...

  14. Thanks again. That site has a lot of helpful info, especially the Halo Top ice cream I do like herbs, so does my wife. Ginko is growing in popularity, I think we will get some. My last 2 visits to my therapist had her doing ocular exercises. I do have a weakened Vestibular nerve, but some of her findings has her concerned about my eyes. She says since my vest nerve is weak, and my eyes are called upon to help with balance, but my eyes aren't responding like she wants. I don't have a spinning sensation, things move in my vision. I'm also seeing a Neurologist, he has been talking about 3 past concussions I had, and was knocked out in 1 of them. I think I'm just getting old. One good thing I've found out, according to my ENT doctor, I have exceptional hearing for a 54 year old. I've been wearing ear plugs for decades for any activity that produces excessive sounds. I even wear ear plugs while wearing a full face helmet.

  18. It is a terrible feeling, especially not knowing when that feeling will hit me. Sometimes while driving, I just have to park somewhere safe and ride it out. What really sucks is having one of the finest bikes Honda has ever made sitting in my garage, and knowing I better not ride it

  22. I think I know who Jim is referring to. This gentleman has or has had just about every Heritage and Pro speaker made (Including the 600's and MCM's) He had a set of Jubs when I visited and I wanted to hear them but he did not have them set up which is when I found out he did not "love them" , he will probably never say it on the forum but he did mention it in person. FWIW I did hear Claudes K402's and his Danley DTS10's I was blown away by both . I have since acquired a Danley and I have a spare set of MWM's that are waiting for some K402's. I would love to hear some Jubs and I'm pretty sure I would love them but there are 2 forum members I know that don't love them. 1 owns a pair and 1 doesn't.

  24. One thing I noticed is Klipsch does not "badge" the cinema line. It would be cool if they at least said Klipsch on them. I think the Jubs are still better looking than all those large freaky speakers Chris A posted.

  25. The following is an opinion from someone who has not owned the speakers you have. I think "yes" to using the RP260F as rears. They will not play the same content as the L/C/R and timbre matching is not important in RR and RL as long as they are quality speakers as your RP260F obviously are. I don't run Atmos but I have read from others that the 4 presence speakers sounds much better than two, so I think you are on the right track here as well. I don't know anything about the CDT speakers. You have a great setup. Making the additions you are talking about should complete your first-class system nicely.

  26. If there's any question, just put them in PVC electrical conduit. That will allow you to re-pull in the future as well or add wire.

  27. You can audition Jubilees at my place too - I'm happy to do it if you get near Salt Lake / Southeast Idaho. @babadono was the first to stop by and I think he was digging them. Regarding them being the Holy Grail of Klipsch speakers... I just haven't heard anything better. Every Klipsch speaker I've owned I always wanted more. I've owned and sold lots of pairs. These are the first "keepers." Anyone that has sold them that I know of needed cash, had medical problems or some sort of personal issue (divorce, etc.). I am not aware of anyone that has sold them to move on to something better. And that's why they will have a special permanent place in my home.

  32. I hate blocking windows, regardless of the view. As long as the Klipschorns don't extend beyond the wall termination toward the bay window or if you want the K's bad enough, then get them. Otherwise I think it will look odd. Or I'd choose a speaker that either sits below the window sill (probably bookshelf speakers on stands, combined with a subwoofer tucked into the corner), or will tuck into that narrow wall on each side of the bay window. Sometimes you have to compromise and work with the layout you have. Probably not the answer you want to hear, but food for thought.

  36. That's nice for you to go to all of those, especially when you're supplying the sounds. Nine years ago my Dad went to his 60th HS reunion. I don't know if they're planning a 70th or not, there were only 6 or 7 at his 60th. He went to grade school in a 1 room schoolhouse, with grades 1-8 all mixed in together.

  37. The truth is boring, I went to two high schools, so that accounts for two of them, #1 & #3. I think my father was in the witness protection program. I went to reunion #3 for 2 years (9th-10th) and reunion #1 for two years (11th-12th). I've stayed in contact with people from both schools. The school from which I did not graduate (#3) invited me to the reunion before the music issue surfaced. The #2 reunion was that of a college friend. It was his request, more than a year ago, for a playlist of the best songs from 64-67 that precipitated the whole project. Once I had that playlist compiled, the organizers of reunions #1 & #3 asked for music support also.

Not more than a few minutes ago the dog had a fit hearing a big noise outside Well we get lots of Australian bush turkeys here I had the camera handy from the orchid photos and took some photos from a short distance First the bird was on the inside branches Then moved up to the top canopy On the last photo you will see the Turkey in relation to how large the tree in size, and you may also see a jumbo jet flying across the sky

  42. ‘Wussificiation’ of America: Is it real? 1. The Business World Doesn’t Give A Damn About You -Well, duh! -some appearence of a damn might be given if you are a member of a protected class. 2. The Only Safe Place Is Your Home RELATED: The lowering of higher education -Pretty much... assuming your home was safe. 3. There’s No Such Thing As “Free” -I don't expect "FREE" but how about not completely outpacing inflation by double year after year after year! Government just makes it worse... Any need based scholarships completely ignore any government loans or pell grants so colleges can automatically raise their prices that much more. It is absolute bullshit that my kids' 4 year degree is going to cost over $200,000. Incredible discipline and hard work was rewarded... it would suck to be an average student. If that is the case go some place cheaper if you can find it. Maybe look into FEE 4. If You Don’t Want To Be A Victim, Then Don’t Be -Refer to number 1 5. Success Is Hard Work -And businesses are glad to take advantage of technology to help keep you on the clock 24/7. By the way, your smart phone (paid for by you) is now the equivalent to driving your car to work. It is just part of your responsibility. It is the business tether to keep you tied to work all day and night without you even thinking about it and you also get to foot the bill. Your consolation is that you might be able to do your work while sitting in your underwear at home vs. having to go back in. If I'm working, whether at home or work... I am not paying attention to my family except that I am trying to provide. Take a long hard look at what "Success" means! hint... it ain't more stuff (Klipsch collections excepted)! -Researchers say the number of working hours has declined after the industrial revolution but I think as the lines have blurred between home and work the reality is that many people are working more than in a long time. It would be interesting to track my cell phone and computer time for work related activity. -Oh, and try working smarter while working harder. It's the only way your gonna make it. Everybody's story is different... we really need to be careful about making blanket statements about an entire generation. There are awesome as well as awful acting people in every generation... and the rest are somewhere in between.

  43. Any employer who knowingly continues to employ a worker who is not providing fair service and value for their compensation is either a) providing charity, or b) a lousy businessperson. And if the employer doesn't know that the worker is not providing adequate service and value, the employer is still a lousy businessperson who needs to know what's really going on in their business if they ever want to succeed. Let me direct a question to those of you who own or manage a business and have others in your employ: Is there a single person on your payroll who you feel does not provide you with service and value that justifies the money (and benefits, if you offer any) you pay them? If so, then those employees are receiving your charity to one degree or another, and only those employees may have any reason to feel grateful to be employed. All your other employees, the ones who give you adequate (or more than adequate) work in exchange for their wages are fulfilling their business arrangement with you, and therefore, should be no more grateful for their employment than you should be for having them in your employ.

  44. May I suggest that the mids at USNA are not wussified and after their service commitment they will fit right into any high-pressure position in the private sector that they can land. They will accept responsibility and take care of business. They will not wilt under pressure. That goes for USMA and USAFA too. But we all know USNA is #1! There are no participation trophies given at any of these institutions. No hurt feelings reports will be filed.

  45. 1HOHDude, Thanks for the bump. Yes, they are sweet sounding, I was in a weird phase a couple years ago. I went a little crazy with ALK network upgrades to my cornwalls and fortes. Then I did this component install in a set of klipschorns and these belles. Since that time I've moved and can't lay them all out together as I had. I'm keeping the klipschorns and fortes. The cornwalls are gone and now the belles need a loving home. Plus trying to move two pair of HII's upgraded with the OEM package to HIII's. I guess I had too many and couldn't see the forest for the trees. Enjoy, Gregg

  46. I'd also recommend Terry DeWick (Dewick Repairs) in Knoxville,TN. He's busy (90 day backlog) and on vacation 'til September but does excellent work and is quite reasonable. http://www.mcintoshaudio.com/dewick_repairs.htm A few years ago, the rectifier on my Scott 222c finally died so I took the opportunity to send it and a 350B tuner to Terry for a checkup and some upgrades. He got rid of the often problematic selenium cap and beefed up the power supply considerably, replaced the out of spec resistors and caps, added premium caps in the signal path and gain stage and modified the amp to use EL-84M tubes instead of the more expensive 7189's. The only other thing I wish I had him do was to move the bias points and adjustment screws to the top of the chassis so I could more easily access and adjust the bias (which I've never had to adjust but its a PITA to check!). He discussed my options, made the repairs, brought both pieces back to spec and shipped 'em back to me for just under $300 total, including a new set of Russian EL-84M tubes. Everything has worked like a charm since and I'm delighted with his work.
