Well some cables and cocktails Spending the empty house time rebuilding the home network. Ubiquiti gateway, 16 port switch, Cloud Key and access points. Learning is a good thing but I am slow. Terminating new cat6 cables to custom lengths is a PIA. Darn good thing the wifey is at her Mom's for month as this mess would not pass for more than a few minutes....might be days.6 points

Good Saturday to all... What a great weekend this is gonna be... weather wise... Got a few friends coming over this evening for a back yard fire. But not just any fire..... a Disk Fire!! That's right a Disk Fire... what is a disk fire you say???? I am proclaiming my self inventor of this "Disk Fire". It came too me a few weeks back when I built the 1st one. I got a small Oak tree taken down that was next to the house. The tree was dead big time... The tree guys left the wood for me. It had a maybe a 10" dia. at the base. So again not real big. So it just came to me... what if I cut the the logs into disks about two inches thick or so..... stack the disks into a circle for the base and just work my way up... making it smaller as I go up... like a cone shape. The inside of this cone is hollow so I filled up the inside with all the sawdust from the disks I cut up. I put some other wood inside also. Once complete I soaked the top with lighter fluid and set it on fire. It took alittle while for it to get going.... but once it did it burned great... as it burns the disks just fall into the center and burn. My friends that came over that night were quite impressed with this Disk Fire. I'll put some pics up later of the Disk Fire.... gotta get out and start cutting some disks.... the tree that i had taken down is gone. So last week I took the old Ford down the road next to the shop into the woods and cut down a few old dead trees. Later... MKP :-)4 points

Yes man, PCB clear water with sandy bottom. Mexico Beach grassy bottom and dark mostly. We have gone there off season for just the view and Nan picks up some shells, walking, eating seafood and just puttering around the area. The Cape mentioned is off shore not far away. Usually in the past would go around Thanksgiving and stay for the weekend or so. Nice wave sound action, nice for some sleep. Need to go back soon. Meanwhile her brother is at Shands in Gainesville where I just got back from leaving her there for a couple of days. Motels around about there booked by FHP to the max. Guess they and guard on hand in case of major trouble with the events taking place similar to Charlottesville. Shands hospital and others in area providing decent care and cutting edge technology for the seriously ill, as has been they case for many years.Tired but unwinding here. Cheers and for sure, St. George!4 points

Currently I have 2 sets of speakers in the media room. Fortes (w/upgraded crossovers & diaphrams) for music and RP280s for movies. The 280s are great for both so I will sell the Quartets and move the Fortes into the game room for TV and music.3 points

That’s right ... don’t worry Gary, I wouldn’t waste perfectly good ketchup on lousy food (which i doubt would be the case in your kitchen). If i use ketchup, consider it my seal of approval.3 points

i have complete trust in you Gary. I do hope that one day it will happen. By the way, at what age does “old” start? I was in traffic school. Eight hours of sitting next to this attractive 24 year old gal. At the end of class, while we’re waiting for our paperwork to be signed, she asks me, “Where do you get your style--I like it?” I asked her what she meant. She said, “Most old guys .... oh, i mean guys older than me...” I said, “too late, you already called me old."3 points

so that isn’t you on MSNBC? I agree with that statement more than i disagree. The things that people try to justify are mind boggling; however, those things can’t be defended when we apply OUR worldview to THEIR opinion. We’re not going to get anywhere if we do that. People shouldn't change their worldview just because someone is eloquent or has a higher degree. Ok, some may; but, I’m hoping most people aren’t making such a drastic change in their thinking all because “this guy on the internet said ....” That’s why i mentioned once in that section that once was and is no more, that i’m very intrigued with “why” people believe what they do. That is where we start understanding how/why a person forms the opinions that they do.There is also where, if we believe there is a flaw in their argument, we will most likely be able to successfully address it. Most people don’t challenge their own beliefs; perhaps they’re scared to ... i don’t know. I do find that most are quick to be defensive when challenged. If i think you are wrong, I’m totally satisfied if i can at least get you to re-examine why you believe what you do. It’s not my job to change your mind. Some do honest self-examination and decide that they were right all along; others are willing to accept that they’ve came to wrong conclusions, whether the result of personal bias or being provided false information. To me, THAT is a critical flaw; when a person simply won’t challenge themselves. I do it all the time because i have this sick fear of being self-deceived, that compels me to continuously ask myself “why do i believe that.” Being human, we all have our pet peeves. For me, it drives me nuts when someone presents their speculation as fact. For instance, if President X would have taken action Y then we would have this result instead of that result. Merely speculation .... it sure would be fun if there was a crystal ball that would show us all the “what ifs;” but, as far as i know one doesn’t exist. I love speculation--it’s fun; but, we should admit when we're just speculating. Lastly, i think some just like to be difficult. It’s entertaining to them. Fairly easy to identify those and it’s a waste of time dealing with them.3 points

I'm so fast, I took and ate the pebble while you were thinking about reacting. I react without thinking. Beginners do not try this at home as serious ramifications if wrong headed... BTW, took Chuck's top down while he did not react. Was quick. Bottoms down, I mean up...3 points

Hi Neil ... my family was in Pismo Beach one summer in the 80s. My Uncle, brother, and I went to the store next to the motel for some supplies. Typical Portugee men, we bought french bread, monterey jack cheese, beer & wine -- that’s a fine meal for us. The cashier isn’t paying attention to us and starts ringing up the purchase. She doesn’t even look at us. When she grabs the booze, she says, “I need to see ID.” My brother & I tell my uncle to show his ... he was born in 1908. She looks at his drivers license, them looks up for the first time and says, “oh, i’m sorry.” She was rather embarrassed.2 points

That's funny Steve. It reminds me of a story my brother tells. He was in a grocery checkout line behind a woman buying wine. The young male cashier asked to see some ID. After a few seconds of rummaging through her purse, the cashier said, "That's OK, I got a better look." The woman scowled at the cashier who was clueless regarding his faux pas.2 points

UPS delivered the headphones today huge box very well packaged and protected. The storage box is very nice, heavy wood, two drawers one for the headphones and one for the included stand, very nice cables (2 included one long one short) and paperwork etc. The headphones look excellent in person, well made and very high quality that stands out. The headphones themselves are light and comfortable to wear. I have only done a little listening so far and they sound very good. These aren't my pics but are completely accurate, I may add my own photos later.2 points

Technically still counts for Vinyl thread since the Belle is off and Khorns on for Vinyl. I have a switch box between tubes and solid state gear, khorns always in play. Tubes for vinyl obviously. Here is the SS gear....no redeeming value for vinyl thread sorry. There are Heresy X 4 for surrounds and backs. Some big Klipsch reference sub too. I need a go fund me page for a new projector....circa 2004.2 points
