  1. Every time I visit the Arizona memorial I am deeply moved. It is impossible not to be. The F-22 raptors will be doing a flyover today as part of the remembrance ceremony.

  3. Good Thursday everyone! On cup #2 of Java this morning - I was introduced last night to a new bourbon I thought I'd share (if it hasn't been already - may be old hat for some). A friend recommended Knob Creek Single Barrel reserve, it's wonderful. It is quite smooth and I really enjoyed the flavor. If you haven't tried it - I give it a thumbs up. Remember, I'm not even a whiskey enthusiast - so take this amateurs amateur opinion with two grains of salt. :-) Little man continues to heal - and get way more active - no issues so far! Have a great day!

  4. Pearl Harbor was just ONE of the attacks on that SOLAR morning. Philippines were also attacked that same SOLAR morning (just on the other side of the international date-line)....as were territories under control of our (after that day) allies, such as Malaya/Singapore, Hong Kong, and many more attacks...all on the same SOLAR morning! As the sun rose across the Pacific Ocean that morning, the attacks happened! Pearl Harbor was just the most eastward of those attacks! God rest the souls of those who perished on that "...day which will live in infamy"!

  5. Wow! It's amazing how time flies and so few people remember the impetus to motivate Americans to unite go to war....I can't thank enough all of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and those that love them who have fought for our country. That said, I also feel Americans should consider what causes those wars and unite in preventing them.

  6. Saw the resurrected Yes thread yesterday and pulled out Fragile. Then realized I have not played it in years. It was astounding on my rebuilt rig I think my Forte IIIs might have broken in finally. The upper ranges have opened up and resemble the airiness (looks funny spelled out) of the big Heritage speakers now. I've got to get Close to the Edge replaced and I might have all that I need from them. Some of the older LPs have sound that blows the regular cds away!

  9. We must have caught them on the same tour. I saw them in the round in 1979 on the Tormato Tour. I was always intrigued with that stage. A few years ago, Rick Wakeman told me that he liked that stage; but, he liked the rotating stage for their Union tour even more (it was bigger). They put on a really good show.

  13. Just giving everyone a heads up that a member on here named Dan Dawson just tried to run a scam on me. He said that someone he knows has some CF-4's I'm looking for and provided an email address to his friend Gulley. I contacted Gulley who sent me pictures of the speakers. The price was cheap and wanted me to wire the money. I messaged Dan to see if he could vouch for this Gulley, and he did (likely the same person). Well low and behold, a quick reverse google of the images revealed they were from a post in 2015. Fair warning! Don't be scammed by this piece of shit!

  15. My father was a West Point graduate and he taught me so many valuable things in regard to his experience as an officer and a liaison... One of the most important was put yourself in the other person's shoes to gain their perspective. It doesn't mean you have to agree with them but at least you should understand what motivates them.

  16. You guys with your quick-to-judge pitchfork mentalities. Maybe Caroline Gulley is just a very well rounded and highly connected individual that happens to have all of the items we need? Geeze..

  20. He almost got me. Just a good reminder to only purchase using PayPal if not meeting in person. Also, reverse googling is your friend. Hopefully putting him on blast will prevent someone else from getting scammed. Of course, he will probably change his name and just keep on doing it. It's a shame there are pieces of shit like this guy out there, but is certainly a reality! Be careful out there folks!

  24. I need to explain a little, the Heresy's went where the grills are in this pic, later covered with a net (it's that kind of place) then miscellaneous thing were put in and around the net for decoration, now you don't even notice them. Not for everyone but they show no signs of any problems after 3 years.

  26. Just an idea; before you try jason's suggestion, practice with some metal window screen. You might even spray the window screen black and find out after wrapping it over the grill that it doesn't look half bad. I see speakerworks.com sells custom steel grilles. Put some catnip behind the grille and watch the cat go nuts. Personally, I'd just get a dog...

  28. One of the reasons we like it here, cost of living is low. 2452 sf not counting porches and 5.75 acres, appraised at 175 about 10-15 years ago.

  33. Good idea's Jason. Thanks again for Duracrest lead as well. BTW, Ralph said he has been supplying the "cloth" for all Klipsch models since the introduction of the original forte in 1985 Best regards. John

  34. Bring one of the risers in to determine if the grille cloth choice is the right one, sometimes it looks great on the roll or with certain wood tones and not so much with others. I would buy the badges if they are available, determine after the grilles are done witch badge looks best.

  36. So I called Duracrest Fabrics a few minuets ago and spoke with Ralph Fortino, president of the company. What a great guy! Completely unpretentious. Said he could re-do my forte II grill covers with current lambswool fabric on forte III for just $100.00 after the 1st of the year. That is material, labor, etc. Also stated he has current Heritage grill cover badges for $20.00 each. Just a hop, skip and a jump to factory in Elk Grove Village, IL. So, should I stick with original badges which are perfect, or go with new? Decisions, decisions! Best regards, John

  37. I will always stick with LCR, once I got the third RF seven instead of RC 64 and heard the dynamic difference in music and home theater it’s the only way to go. But Definitely hard to accommodate.

  39. I just took delivery of my new Heresy lll in Cherry finish..... the fit and finish, veneer matching and overall eye appeal is higher than expected. I haven't really spent much time listening but they sound great so far. These little guys rock, the bass isnt the deepest but it has really good pitch definition and with my REL 305 it's awesome...... a bass guitar sounds like a bass guitar , a kick drum has kick.

  40. Nicely done! I've also made my way into heritage with industrial Heresies, mine are KP-201. I probably created a similar story for someone else when I got them, I happened to see the listing within an hour or two of when it went up and contacted right away. The guy had them for $200, I didn't even bother trying to get him to go lower. When I got there the next day (wasn't letting that one sit) he told me he'd heard from a few other people by then, including a guy visiting from Texas (I live in NJ) who wanted to take them back with him. I wondered on the drive back if I really needed to spend $200 on more speakers, I had already gone from F20 to RP-280F. They're my favorite speakers now though, I don't think I'll ever get rid of them.

  41. Ok. Scratched the itch finally. Forte II. Yes I overpaid I figure, +/- $200 is not worth agonizing over. If it was a problem, then I shouldn't be shopping in this ball park anyway. These are forever kind of speakers. Especially when I invest time/effort in recapping the xo's and whatever else can be done (Crites maybe?). Whatever the case. I have them, now in the office. They are too big for the office. Hence, they are perfect for the office Will take my time getting to know them. First through them was Miles Davis, Kind of Blue (vinyl). Very enjoyable to say the least. I do get the sense they want to be cranked louder, and want more space to stretch into.

  43. Every time I see images of what happened, it sends a chill thru me. It is amazing the severely crippled US forces were able to mount a comeback. Back then, it was not possible to mobilize help and reinforcement quickly. My hat is off to those brave men and women
