  1. More goat kids (Thursday actually). Two does and a buck this time. Much better health than the last ones and looks like they're going to thrive..

  6. I can visualize that being you less the one hundred. However what I can't, I won't, visualize is the above being you less the one hundred "In A Sarong". To have the wind blowing open your sarong in that motorized contraption is far more than I am in for. You might reconsider attending Hope if that is your conveyance. Men in sarongs in southern Arky is - well - its different.

  10. Stopped going to barber shops when a teenager. Found and usually kept beauticians and trained them about my hair.. Had one shag type cut in 72 in Kansas City,Ka. Looked like a hoople and was far easier to manage. Even had a straightener put in one time for some reason. Fast forward to for the last oh, 25 years, a DIY'er with the help of women.(I trust women with my hair). LF at times past was always willing to help with the length and the ever growing neck hair. Lately, she has been falling down on the job so, looks like the only way I can get my neck hair done is to grow it out long and put it in my tail. BTW, the ponytail is my secret to the "bob" cut. Just one cut across just below the hairband and I am good to go, for abit anyway. And, since my move to Tally for a short while, got back into some beard, goatee, stache and those other below the lower lip V hair styles I first remember seeing on Zappa and, in Texas. So, have not mastered the mirror cut from the front to back but, guess LF is fed up with the hair thing. Time to give her a verbal haircut.(kidding) LOLOL

  11. Thanks billybob. Been listening to some vinyl (Tom Waits-One From The Heart) great recording and then a Randy Travis album. One CD Keb Mo-Keep It Simple. Sounding good even with 90% hearing in one ear. Always seems strange that I turn the volume to "9" on the CD player and to "20" on the phono. Different output I guess

  13. eh??? I WORKED IN THE BACK-END OF A BOWLING ALLEY FOR 25 YEARS. [except for these tree crickets that never quit] my hearing is better than the wife's. or she is better at selective deafness. Grand came over this AM wanting PaBill to make breakfast. Asked her what she wanted. PANCAKES! She helped. Mixed the batter and pouring. I had her telling when to turn them, too ... with some prompting. Wasn't gonna let her try her hand at flipping cakes, yet. She 3 and a half. Bad enough I had her in proximity to a hot griddle to pour. I moved the pan to her for that.

  15. I remember you having a bad cold a while back, has it been 3 months already. Geeze time flies. I'd like to get a hearing test just to know what has been lost due to age/abuse. My dad worked for the automotive industry for 35 years always in GM plants. His high frequency hearing is terrible. I don't think I'm that bad but like everything else it goes with age if nothing else. Take longer to bounce back from injuries and sickness. Hopefully you still have room to improve.

  16. I started getting those offers at 50, it's been a couple years now. Buying a car in that price range, a Toyota or a Honda is hard to beat.

  17. I spent a bunch of time on three roof yesterday. Several weeks ago I cut the cable and went to an antenna. I bought a chimney mount kit and installed a Clearstream antenna that I bought years sgo. The signal goes into the attic to an amplifier and then to 4 separate drops in the house. I was having issues with pixelization and weak signal. Yesterday I switched to a Yagi antenna with a pre amp at the antenna. I took the amplifier out of the attic and put a 4 way splitter in its place. Problem solved. More stations and now no loss of signal. Picture is amazing.

  18. Good to see my bud Keith McGowan post last night. He use to go by screen name Spongeworthy and he and Don (bluesboy) are the only two forum members I have met in person. Keith posted asking for recommendations for a turn table. I have been in an audio lull for a while after having a slight hearing loss in one ear but am now motivated to spin a disc or two. I have always enjoyed threads about TTs and R2Rs. I guess they require more user interaction with the music. Now if bluesboy would drop us a line..........

  21. Good evening Paul and friends here in Vinyl Spinning! I am sorry that I have not posted much lately, been sick and finally after nearly two weeks, starting to feel a bit better and even the VINO is tasting good once again! Tonight, I unveiled a new organ recording which I am STILL listening to at the moment... Paul, tomorrow night is the concert from 'The Musical Box' at the local theater.... So, I am really excited about that and will bring my new camera to capture HD video in stereo sound along with still photography as well.... This will be a new experience for me and I am going totally open minded to take it all in and enjoy it.... I may just share some photos here since I know you are a BIG Genesis fan I have a brand new LP that just arrived from my guys over at Sound Stage Direct and I will put that up right here once it is opened and playing....

  26. Two gables on my roof are 9/12. About 10 years ago I laddered up on the roof on the back of the house that isn't quite as steep. I walked the ridge to where I needed to replace a vent cap and stepped over the edge. My last move before sliding off the roof was to catch the ridge with my left hand. Haven't been back up there. 33. Hope it continues to improve for you Chuck. About 20 years ago I started wearing ear plugs. I used them while operating a lawn mower, chain saw, weed eater, any kind of saw, at work, even while riding a motorcycle with a full face helmet on. Two years ago I had my hearing tested, and it's well above average for someone my age. Glad I wore the plugs for all those years.

  34. I remember spongeowrthy, that name always cracked me up. I could not figure out what you meant yesterday. I kept rereading the posts looking for his name. Saw some later messages today and it all made sense. Sorry to hear (pun intended) about your ear problems. Hopefully nothing permanent. I agree about interacting with medium. Never been a R2R guy always intrigued. I do enjoy the whole ritual with LPs.

  35. that's one I can relate to, in spades. I had things [at the bowling alley] I could do scooting around on my butt, on the floor. Just don't make me have to get up and move suddenly. "Sudden" takes a while, now. When I wear my sarong, I feel like I should "accessorize". A big cane knife or an AK. I only wear the sarong around "town". We have folks in leather breech clouts. It's pretty modest. But I do have my "Sunday Go To Meetin" bib overalls. I can blend in pretty well. You won't know I'm crazy until you talk to me.

  40. End of the story part II Interestingly (for me), I opened the mail the other day and had a check from the county clerk (or justice...something like that) None the less, amount was for $150. I had no clue what it was for, then remembered the saw saga.... I called the courthouse to ask and yes indeed, it was my reimbursement (even though it's about $30 short) Still.... I have my saw and most of my cash back and a good redneck story to tell!!! On the check was the perp's name (something like on the memo line). I had specifically told the detective I didn't want to know the perp's name because if he was ever found floating in the lake, I didn't want any chance of someone suspecting me. I hope he knows how to swim.

  41. Two pumps on a barber chair is high enough for me

  42. Your right it is definitely much cheaper but it takes all the fun and excitement out of the job. I actually like being high, not that one but yes. A long time ago I did electrical work and had to climb everything from telephone poles to 600' towers and I loved the feeling. I still like the feeling but realize what can happen to my old azz and much more careful now, but it's still a rush to up in the air, no towers anymore for me. My wife, her knees start to shake if she gets past the first rung on any ladder.

  43. Which I why I hire out the high wire work - a couple hundred bucks is Much cheaper monetarily and physically than falling from a ladder, roof, etc. A big reason I stopped putting up lights at Christmas - bah freakin' humbug ?!?
