  1. Yep....I drove 1055 miles for one of Carl's slushies. Great job by Christy and Elden to keep my attendance a secret. A fun time for sure. Factory tour starts at 7:30am!

  14. I purchased my Klipsch wireless 5.1 system in December, might have been November. Just after I got it, when I turned it on, the control center or Hub would do its boot up, and then occasionally go to full volume. The first time it happened, whatever signal it was pushing through the HDMI temporarily knocked something out of my TV and messed up the display. First and foremost, it was loud, very, very loud. Then the TV would not display right like it got struck by lightning or something. After unplugging and replugging in the TV, it worked fine. This happened again, but nothing happened to the TV. From that point forward, I always ensure everything is off, TV, Blu-Ray, or other, so we don't get our ears blasted. Klipsch's first response was to ensure the firmware was updated. I don't know if it was or wasn't, but following the steps provided, the firmware was updated after that. This is the video I sent Klipsch: https://youtu.be/bH2QRIxQot0. The Hub went full volume a few more times and Klipsch sent me out a new Hub. I think I used the system a few times without incident before I left the country for a few months. I got back a few weeks ago and have used the system two or three times. Today, the volume went to full volume after its start up. I am the only person in the house who uses it and I would not have left on full volume when I was finished using it two days ago. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thank you, Frank

  16. If it were me I would frame the fireplace with a couple of MCM 1900 stacks and move the 904's to the back of the room and you could make the wife happy happy happy that no more 904's were brought in.

  18. another great video. just remember to remove the inside dust liner in the grill cover before painting. it attaches back in nicely. I picked up a trigger adapter from home depot that snaps onto the spray can top. makes a huge difference. I recommend it highly.

  19. Besides the good story and that particular scene, the bohemian (Hollywood) heavyweights in this flick is incredible. Pachino, DeNiro, Sizemore, Voight, Trejo, Fitchner, Haysbert, Rollins ... Heck, I'll just paste the link: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113277/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm

  20. I picked up a near mint Oppo 83 player with two calibration discs, remote power cord and manual for $86 and a Klipsch SW-15 ii for $22 that needed repair in the rear passive. Both were excellent experiences. I do know however a buyer from the Emotiva site that won a pair of RF-7 ii and they arrived nearly destroyed from lack of shipping care. For something this large I would only bid if I were local....which would work out since these are local pick up only.....lol! Tim

  21. My couple of experiences with EBTH is the bidders are fairly sophisticated, meaning they lay off until the last day. In this 7 day auction there is only one bid for $1 and there are four days to go. About a year ago I was looking on EBTH for a couple pair of La Scala's close by that were up to $400 with a couple days to go. Both pairs sold for over $1600, a price over the $1250 usual used price. My guess is these will go for fair market value or better.

  22. This has been for sale various times on Craigslist in Nashville and no luck selling. I am betting they need work since they are still up for sale. $600 max for sure since I think it is almost certain there is trouble there.

  23. Use appropriate voltage and current rated wire for the internal AC and DC. All twisted pairs. IEC inlet with solid ground connection to the enclosure. All exposed metal parts must have continuity to that ground connection. Small signal can be cat5 etc or tephlon covered silver 22-24 gauge or anything fancy like that. The speaker output can be anything. Oxygen free copper speaker wire will work.

  26. Decent size room. Nice chunk to spend, many options. I agree totally. Bang for the buck is usually better with the used market. Okay, let's start there. Rear ported(ports or passive woofer) are not in my suggestions because of little room behind speakers. Some compliant suggestions in no particular order. Many others to choose from but these are what came to mind. 1)Triple Heresys(I, II, or III) 2)Triple Cornwalls(I, II, or III) 3)Triple RB-75's 4)Triple Chorus I's I'll let others @Scrappydue, @MetropolisLakeOutfitters suggest some of the pro models that will work also in your space. Where is your location? Bill

  27. This discussion is really meaningless if we cannot know the details. Front end, amplification, cables, room size and placement, etc. Furthermore from your previous post, I am not sure that you have given them sufficient break in time. How many hours on them? Shakey

  28. Nope you're aren't the only one. I think I complained about this in another thread. It's awesome right? It's 4am on a Saturday morning and I get up for my weekly long run, turn on the control unit and boom, max volume, Wakes the whole house up. It does it at other times as well but those are the ones the wife just loves. I did have it to were my Tv and cable box would come on with the control unit but to prevent this from happening I stopped that and now I power on the control unit and after I see it isn't at max volume I then turn on my source. Two years since the last update but I doubt this would fix it. This system is a lemon. Not our units but all of the units. Klipsch promised lifetime updates, "future proof" and even hardware changes if needed. The haven't delivered on any of their promises and won't respond with a solution. I think they are waiting for the HD Wireless to quietly go away.

  34. Kelly, Sorry for your loss. Please be patient with us. Unfortunately, the anonymity of a keyboard brings out the worst in some people who are, probably, genuinely nice in person. A few here fail to understand that perception is reality. If someone finds your behavior annoying, sarcastically suggesting that they’re wrong to find your behavior annoying is . . . well . . . annoying. If you can look past the few boors, this forum is a great resource for sellers of vintage Klipsch products. It’s possible to get a realistic sense of the market, while exposing your sale to a large group of knowledgeable interested Klipsch enthusiasts. The thread below is an illustration of someone I tried to help who grew weary of the impatience and sarcasm demonstrated by a few. The result was the forum members lost an opportunity to get excellent speakers at a fair price and the seller, due to exasperation, sold them cheap to someone who resold them at a profit. The thread below reflects the process at its best. A local women inherited two 50s vintage Klipschorns from her father. When she told me she’d been offered $800 for the pair by a local dealer, I assured her she could do better than that. The offer of $800 was a fair offer from a retailer who needs to make a profit, but not what she could get selling them herself. With my assistance, and the power of this forum, she sold the speakers to a forum member at a price that was fair to all, and considerably better, for her, than $800. This thread chronicles the collection. I wasn’t able to easily locate the thread documenting the sale. Feel free to send a private message (PM) if you would like to discuss this further. Best wishes with your desire to send your husband’s speakers to a worthy custodian, while getting what they’re genuinely worth.

  35. They look similar to the Heresy HIP (Heresy Industrial Ported) but the woofer and woofer placement is wrong, so is the back panel and the port appears to be too large but its hard to tell for sure. I'd remove the back panels and look at the crossovers and drivers used, may give you some clues.

  36. Guys: This forum is the "Garage Sale". It is meant for buying and selling. The OP can ask whatever price they want, it is none of our business. If you think the price is too high then it is simple - don't buy them. Let's show some respect and courtesy.

  38. Cornwalls for $2650? The average price used in good shape is $800. There is some value added for the veneer job, but the Buyer has to decide how much value is added.

  39. I probably built them...face the rear of one and to your left, follow the rear edge of that side panel up towards its miter-joint. About an inch below the joint if you see the letter "A", then they were built by me.

  40. Probably won't. They're pricey and have been for sale a while. This guy and his son buy speakers, pretty them up and flip them for a decent profit. When these sell, there'll be more.

  42. My 1977 (bought new after college) KCBR Klipschorns were made of Baltic Birch. I had NEVER seen 9 layer, 1/2 inch plywood before. They were impressive, and sounded great, of course. My new (to me) Klipshorn Jubillee Clones, built by HPower, designed by Roy Delgado and Paul Klipsch, are Baltic Birch with veneer and weigh a ton! They also sound fantastic!!

  45. Both of those are beautiful amps. I amp familiar with Music Angel. They have an excellent reputation. I did get a few pic's of the inside of the MC 13 S amp. Maybe one of the tube guru's can comment on what we are looking at.
