  12. Not for Thanksgiving, just to eat plus I freeze it in little 4 oz containers to have something to eat easily without cooking. I cook one about once a week like this, the wife catches them on sale and they are cheaper than chicken, she gets 4-5 at a time. "Kind" of on a diet and I need some kind of protein a few time a day, plus I really like it.

  14. Well, I have a few thoughts. I've worked with countless circuits and applications over 30 years that deal with digital transport, and I can for sure tell you that jitter in delivery of any digital data is a real thing. Some applications are not sensitive to it and some are. My DAC has built-in reclocking and I've never really messed with disabling it. I suppose I should do that to see if I can hear a difference. That presupposes that the input stream has a ratty clock to begin with and correction is even necessary. It would be nice if manufacturers would include an input edge to output edge difference indicator of some sort. Without it, you can't really know how much if any correction was done. Assuming, of course, that you can't immediately hear any difference in the audio realm that would make it obvious. Jitter applied to the delivery of audio samples to some DACs would represent a variable time delay in the sample, causing added noise in the analog domain. I say some because some DACs have built-in reclocking. To summarize: I don't think reclocking can hurt anything, and it can help. This is a good reference: https://www.by-rutgers.nl/PDFiles/Audio Jitter.pdf

  15. If you haven't already done so in the past try experimenting. Take the EQ out the equation all together and listen to everything flat for a week or so. When I started to move up to better gear I had to re-learn how to listen to my source material. I was not finding enough difference with my better equipment to justify the money spent. It turned out that the way I had the EQ adjusted that I was killing virtually any gains I got with the better amps, pre amps and speakers etc. I never put the EQ back in the system as it just did more harm than good in my opinion. The speaker placement as mentioned above will have a very real impact on what you hear too. I also have klf-30's and there is no shortage of bass, if yours are lacking then you may need to give them some attention. (Re)Sealing the inside of the cabinets usually makes a big difference, mine did as many others reportedly did too. Look on this forum for updates, upgrades and mods for your klf-30's, there is a fair amount out there.

  16. I like them. Thanks for posting the photos. Klipsch used to license designs to several companies, Electro-Voice and Brociner are two that readily come to mind. In the 70s, I met PWK at a 3 channel demo in Lansing, MI, hosted by the Stereo Shoppe. After the presentation, Mr Klipsch was kind enough to answer questions from a then young enthusiast. I asked why Klipsch no longer licensed its patents to other manufacturers. He replied that an inability to control the end quality, especially with E-V kits, discouraged him from having his name associated with products Klipsch did not build. He then abruptly asked me if I knew what a patrician is. Before I could reply he said, “It’s someone who steps out of the shower to take a leak.” His entourage rolled their eyes.

  18. I like the cain, I think the black looks good because of the color of the back wall which is light, which also makes the cain look different. If the back wall was darker the cain would jump out, kind of how the tv stand and audio cabinet stand out from the back wall. But trust me no one would ask me to decorate. Edit; Either way cool room............got a couple CD's. .

  19. The very best Klipsch for detailed audiophile experience is the better Pro stuff. What Westcoastdrums said is right. Cornwalls, La Scalas and KHorns are great but the better Pro is superior. Don't take my word for it either you deserve to go and find out in person but don't say you weren't warned.

  23. That makes no sense. We have always been economically successful, usually more than somewhat, no matter who is the MIC. As you know, if you have paid attention, the MIC doesn't really have anything much to do with the economy anyway. The flakes are the ones who can't handle the knit ones. Try again.

A unfinished plywood Klipsch cabinet use to cost a small fortune.. If you aren't capable of putting some tung oil on these you don't deserve them..I will do it myself if I am ever where I have these stored again or I find someone with time on their hands..”

  27. So I'd guess that you have a miniDSP 2x4 issue. I recommend turning the input gain down from the preamp, and turning the power amplifier gain up (if you haven't already tried it). I've been told by others that the old 2x4 miniDSPs have very little gain latitude, and it may be that you're driving to the 2x4 into clipping. Apparently, the newer "2x4 HD" version has solved that issue by providing much greater total gain capability than the 2x4 version. It could also be just the opposite issue if you're hearing noise background--your gains through the 2x4 may be too low in that case. I'd also check all of your connections, particularly the RCA (analog) ones, since those are ares where common mode noise can creep in (power line noise). The effect of hearing a lower SPL out the K-510 assembly (assuming you have pretty sensitive taste in timbre) could be as simple as the K-510/K-693 that you're playing with is not mounted in a baffle, so you're losing a dB or two of nearfield re-radiation from the absence of the baffle's proximity to the horn's mouth. 33. It doesn't go all the way around with the metal part of the roof. Porch goes maybe 6 feet and the metal roof maybe 20 feet. Front porch is about 46 feet across and back is 44 feet, I think. My wife has already said she'd be hanging out front in a rocking chair a lot. lol I'm hoping we will be but honestly doubt. Thanks! Walls are painted, all cabinets are in, and most all lights and fixtures are in. Getting ready to start the floor tiling for the rooms that get it and also start laying the LVP floors, too. Still need granite counter tops done and we're going to try and get the front door stained, back french doors painted, and other two exterior doors painted so we can put the handles and locks on everything for appliances to be delivered in next couple of weeks. We're hoping the electricity will be hooked up by this weekend. Getting colder inside and hard to see to do anything...even with LED work lights. We have no neighbors beside us on either side and there's 43 acres behind me that will never be built on (most likely). My closest neighbor is about 400 feet away on another street. I can see them but they aren't "right there". Nice people, though. But it's definitely nice not having neighbors too close to us and if we do have a next door neighbor or across the street, they are more than 10 feet away since we're on 1+ acre lots.

  34. This is a deal people. If I had not picked up a decent Marantz to do the tv sound, I'd be working out shipping right now! Remember the Nakamichi STASIS integrated amps by Nelson Pass? Had one, an SR3A, marvelous and could turn it up to 3pm on the pot and NOT clip. I've got the CXA80 and I'll tell you the similarities are there with the build, timbre, richness and not Yamaha "Clinical" Sound.

  35. I would think it would do well, just make sure the temp goes down to what you would like for slow cooking. I just went to look, the one we use goes down to 150 degrees as the lowest setting, 450 as the highest. It does well as a big crockpot, the wife uses it for a big roast along with potatoes carrots and other things and leaves it to cook all day. To me one important thing is to make sure the pan or inside is removable for cleaning, it helps alot.

  36. I built the Reference 15 3 cuft sealed sub with the HO driver and a Yung plate amp500 watt /bass boost . It's fantastic with my CF-4's, very musical, lots of tactile response without having to crank it up. It blends very well. I recently built a couple of Umax 15's sealed 3 cuft using an Inuke 3000dsp. I have a two Inukes so I might go with one per sub but right now both sound good with the single Inuke. I think the Umax 15 sound is more customizable using the DSP. I don't yet have the DSP figured out but for my money the Reference 15 is the clear winner right now. (this is the Umax 15, Inukes are in silver. Also pictured CF-4, Onk 717 and Emotiva XPA-5. A DIY 15" is on top of the CF-4)

  39. This is such a gross generalization I don't know where to begin. You seem to have an ax to grind for successful companies. So you provide on example of a poorly run company and extrapolate from it that all companies run by CPA or MBA's are somehow out of touch with their customers and discount the importance of a quality product. ..I know several CPA's and MBA's and they are every bit as conscientious about these things as, say, an engineer or market analyst. If a Board of Directors approves a CPA or MBA as COO of a company and he or she does a terrible job then the Board chose the wrong person, that's all. Good lord, I would think the shareholders of MOST companies would want/ expect that a chief operation officer has an MBA. ..Probably half or more of successful large companies are run by someone with at least an MBA

  41. Don't try to sand the black out of the curved piece of the risers, you won't find a pretty veneer. If anything, sand it a little bit, and put a fresh coat off black matte spray paint. Trust me, the black curved piece really looks nice between the risers and the cabinets. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
