  5. A shipment uv @oldtimer hot sauces. Tested most of them on some tamales which were delivered Saturday. The Hawaiian Firecracker were both fruity, full bodied, and possessed of moderate heat. The Red Menace XX and the Yelow Peril were both quite flavorful, but probably not for novices. These are both quite spicy. Had me sweating profusely, and may burn tomorrow. I prefer the flavor of the red over the yellow, but that is just personal preference. I will try the Tropical Tiki at my next meal. Yum 👅 👅 NOTE: There were two more bottles, but they were duplicates uv the hottttt ones.

  16. I am looking to get my first home theater setup. We just built a new house and now I’m beginning to acquire everything needed to have a nice movie experience. This system will be 70% movies and 30% video games. I have purchased, awaiting delivery, a Vizio PQ65-F1 for my display. I just received a Logitech Harmony Elite after getting it on a Cyber Monday deal for $200 on Amazon. My room is a no-ideal layout as the back of the room is open to the dining area and kitchen. I won’t be doing rear surrounds at this time due to having a 2 year old who will wreck them. Therefore, I’m looking to do a 3.1 system, maybe a 3.1.2. I’m wanting the RP 504C as my center. For my front speakers I’m very limited due to our furniture. I’m thinking either dual RP-500M bookshelf speakers or, and this may be weird, but dual RP-500C as L & R speakers. Any negative to doing this? Or ideas what would be better?

  17. I am not looking to make a profit. I will hold onto these and enjoy for the remainder of my lifetime, unless there becomes an emergency need to sell down the road. My wife even liked them....A LOT! Which completely surprised me! Here are some pictures. Please note, I do not have corners (yet). A basement remodel will be in store for me hopefully soon, which will allow placement into corners. Even without corners, they sound absolutely fantastic! Only imperfections pictured below... Peeling veneer, which will be re-attached. It was already coming off a little when I got them, and I have the other piece that broke off that I can put back on. Any suggestions on what I can use to reattach?

  25. As far as 2 year olds, from the time my son could crawl, everything that had anything to do with my A/V gear would "burn!", "hot!", "ouch!". Never once did he ever touch or try to climb any of it. Same goes for electrical outlets, lamps, tables. Welcome to the forum. Bill

  26. I find the risers give such a dated look and much prefer the neater and cleaner look of a Quartet Forte or Chorus all without risers up on a good four post stand placing the centre of the mid horn at your seated ear level. I don't have any pics of my speakers but here is essentially what a Forte without a riser will look on a nice four post stand, these are Harbeth M40 with twelve inch woofers and similar sized cabinet to a Forte.

  27. The Yellow Peril has a flavor which reminds me uv de habanero I grew about seven years back. Not my favorite, but will be used to add heat to pots of chili. The Red Menace is prime. Not an every day sauce, but the flavor Iz "Me Gusta"! It will be reserved for me, when I want the heat. The other three are prime table sauces for all to enjoy, as they combine a bit of heat with zesty, fruity flavor. (And a wide, deep flavor stage and sparkle, bumping, thumping kick, etc.) (Are you being sarcastic?) (No, just normal Nooo Yawk, Italian/Irish) (OK) P.S.S. : The pro version delivers the heat at a much higher level than the heritage.

  28. Cesar, Everything Chris suggest is THE way to go, for your budget. I will help you all the way, ...with the tuning, using the Xilica XP-4080. BUT, If you plan on any future surround system applications...get the xp-8080 like our Klipsch brotha 'Chris A' has ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @Chris A ..your BESSEL tuning BLEW @Maximus89's mind, yesterday, at my Jubilee demo ! Thank you again for all you do !

  32. I must say up front that I've never heard Jubilees. I already had 1990 Khorns which I had modded and enjoyed for years when I went K402 on top recently. I Initially dialed them in with Chris' help going active with a Xilica 4080 and amps I already had driving the Khorn bass bins and BMS 4592 NDs (coaxial) on top as a 3 way. I have never before experienced that great a leap in performance of a system in the same room! The wide open, dynamic, "live" sound of the K402 has to be heard and my Khorn bass bins have never sounded near this good. Together they have a cohesiveness that is addictive. You could go much of the way on this road with about $2200 for the K402/K691/stand set and about $900 for the Xilica. Use 4 lower powered/ lower gain (or adjustable) amp channels that you may already have for a 2 way active setup and prepare to be launched into a new level. Don't shy away from the calibrated mic and REW software needed to dial these blends in for your room. I'll walk you through that part if you like and Chris can help with the Parametric EQ to apply in the Xilica software.

  33. I enjoy this hobby from both the musical as well as technical aspects and have always done this for about 50 years now🙂.... and I have come to the same conclusion that while we desire perfection we must also accept it’s not possible and thus ultimately our systems must allow the music to move us or why bother..??? miketn

  34. Good to know. I sometimes think of Klipsch as a gift waiting for all of us to truly discover (...as you apparently experienced it). Chris

  35. This can be done, I personally would not try to do it using passive crossovers because of the following issues: The Khorn bass bin on-axis frequency response falls off a little too rapidly above 400 Hz to join up with the bottom end of a K-510 horn's on-axis response, i.e., there's a bit of a hole in the spectrum that needs to be closed via boost equalization that is available in DSP crossovers, but not passives. This one factor has stopped a lot of people from trying this using passive crossover technology. The success of using a K-402 on top of a Khorn bass bin is partially due to the overlap in polar coverage with the Khorn bass bin natural response within the crossover interference band by using shallower slope crossover filters, and the K-510 horn really cannot cross at a low enough frequency to mitigate the increased mismatch of polar coverage (i.e., the Khorn's coverage polars are a bit narrow above 450 Hz--which is partially why its on-axis response falls off so rapidly). The Khorn bass bin has a pretty substantial path length difference with the K-510/2" compression driver--even more than a K-400 horn/K-55 driver. This contributes even more to what is termed "timbre issues"--due to increased time misalignment. A DSP crossover can correct this easily, but not a passive. Other than those issues, I think it's possible to do, but it will take some measurements in-room using a calibrated microphone and something like REW, in addition to a DSP crossover. You can talk to Craig about how this works. There isn't a lot of latitude between these horns/drivers in terms of overlapping capability, so it needs to be guided by actual measurements and not just using one's ears, otherwise you'll wind up with a frequency response hole right in the middle of the midrange (400-600 Hz). As far as what you can expect in terms of improvement in sound quality--I think that you'll be extremely pleased, but I'd strongly recommend a fairly good 2" compression driver, and not a K-691 (YMMV). I'd recommend a FaitalPRO HF20AT or possibly a HF2000 (which I've never actually heard before, but I'm told it is the replacement for the HF20AT), or the BMS 4592ND dual diaphragm driver at about same price the FaitalPRO HF2000--if bought from Thomann online from Germany (taking about 3-5 days to ship to your doorstep, in my experience). You will get best performance bi-amping this driver, but it can be passively crossed if it's a real issue tri-amping your arrangement with the BMS driver (i.e, a real three-way configuration). You'll need at least 6 output channels from a DSP crossover to do this (i.e., you'll need two miniDSP 2x4 HDs, for instance, or a Xilica XP4080). Chris

  39. Thanks! If it makes you feel better, by the time I called to tell her I’m coming for them, the woman who posted them gave me the “ahhh...ummm...before you do, my husband is really mad at me for posting the price way too low”. So, once I recovered from the gut punch, and after some correspondence back and forth between her and her husband, who was researching selling prices on eBay, I ended up paying more than double her asking price, which was less than the figure the husband had in mind, but since they initially posted so low, they weren’t going to sell it to me for top dollar. The price was still very fair, so I grabbed them.
