Ok, so I might have a problem, step 1 1. Admitting I have a problem 2. Convincing my wife that I don't have a problem. 3. Hiding my problem from others 4. Being at peace with my problem 5. Understanding that others have the same problem 6. Not buying any more equipment until my projects are complete 7. Ignoring #6, because it was on sale 8. Hating this and other audio forums 9. Secretly, staying on the forums 10. Telling m.y wife and others that I don't do audio forums anymore 11. Hiding a laptop in the closet 12. Not caring if I have a problem or if my wife is mad about my non problem and cranking the tunes up I had no clue how much crap (stuff) I had, until I started putting my test room back together. All of you are a bad influence, and the picture captures about 50% of the pieces and parts I have laying around that have been purchased for various projects. This all started about 10 years ago when I decided to get back into music and purchased a used set of RF7's, joined this forum, went to Hope, met Carl, drank martinis and here I am. Tell your story, you are not alone.6 points

From 2012 during my 'must hear every KG model' madness. I don't have a picture of the shelves with amps, receivers, etc to the right. Probably for good reason. This pic was taken before my wife said, "Why have all this sitting down here? Set up some more systems around the house." She's awesome. Big floorstanders are mostly what I have these days. The buying/selling has slowed down a lot in the last couple years. Been in control of it, I think.4 points

I did the same thing with RF's, RB's and RP's and it's an addiction, but I've learned to control it better. Buying was the easy part, selling them after they were in my possession was tough and I still regret about everything I sold, but the nightmares have stopped. LMAOπ3 points

Not to mention the significant number of women in the world that think Klipsch built these to hold their plants to be admired at eye-level. Wb3 points

Gilda's legacy lives on. I recently lost my best friend to cancer, and Gilda's Club was a fantastic support. I have an enormous amount of love and respect for these folks. They have chapters in many cities. If you need them, be sure to reach out. https://gildasclubnyc.org/our-history-mission/3 points

This and the "one and done" players in basketball. The scholarship monies should be paid back and then some. Maybe the first few paychecks go to the university. Mama is just going to have to wait for her son to buy her that new mansion.2 points

I donβt know how loud youβre listening, but donβt get carried away. Iβve lost count of the number of customers I had that wore hearing aids because of the constant abuse they exposed their ears to. Also, power compression. There is a point at which your speakers donβt really get any louder, but just turn everything into heat and waste amplifier power. The eventual result is driver failure.2 points

It is a bit chilly in this country at the moment, even in Southern Cali, we are having a cold spell. I don't turn on the heat during the night, woke to a bedroom temp of 45 degrees. Perhaps, this pic, which is in rotation on my laptop, will bring a touch of warmth. A little solar flare, that can be up to 2 million degrees in temperature. Taken, not with my iPhone.2 points

I don't see a problem at all... 1. Entire old system shoved in a corner. 2. New PL integrated up and running 3. 81 RB that I've always loved purchased 4. Deang modded networks. 5. Crites tweeters installed. 6. Have a new LONG phillips screwdriver for replacing said tweeters. 7. Picked up a pair of very minty 81 Heresy in OW. 8. Bought a Schiit headphone amp & a pair of Sennheiser 650's. 9. Two adjoining rooms need painted. 10. New Levelor that's now 5 years old laying in box waiting to go up. 11. Found a pair of Marantz electrostatic headphones I knew I had somewhere. Nummy. 12. Have found out how expensive was to have an ex. 13. Intervention needed? 14. Ha... ππ2 points

A lot of members here move their speakers around frequently, leave them out in the rain, haul them to parties. They have to be tough. π¬2 points

In addition to regular YPAO your receiver also has YPAO Volume, Eco Mode, High-Resolution Music Enhancer, etc. Somewhere in the receiver there's a setting that's turned on that's causing what you're hearing.2 points

Local business closing doors after 35 years, Owners kids want nothing to do with it they set stuff out front with a sign. I went in with the wife for the hell of it and she spies approx 1000 Vinyl albums........I ask the sellers how much he says pick out what you want, I said no you misunderstand, How much for all of them..................... A few minutes later all loaded in the van 100.00.....................Much of the Vinyl is stuff I will never listen to but there are a few decent lp...............Most are in VG+ shape except of course the 1 crate with my preferred vinyl they got wet and the covers are all stuck together moldy. I pull out the vinyl and toss the covers and so far approx 50 great classic rock, Motown, funk, from the 60's, 70's & a very Few 80's the vinyl is all cleaning up great and are near mint. Going to buy some plain covers a sleeves keep as players Van Morrison Moondance Played superbly, Crosby Stills & Nash needs another go on the VPI but was still absolutely listenable Got my 100 worth of vinyl out of the wet molded covers, everything else is a bonus, Keep an eye out I will likely be offering up gift packs for shipping costs2 points

I too built a VFET and it is my most favorite that I have built to date. I have never posted pictures on this site, but here are a few. A couple of things to note on my build is that I went dual mono, meaning two separate internal power supplies, two transformers and 4 rectifiers, although it does share one on/off switch it's mono from there. This thing is a beast and weighs in at 42#. You can see how it compares to the single power supply of the Burning Amp build. Joe2 points

A lot of lttle store front shops... tbey make enough to get by. No Walmarts in the Philippines, but there are other large stores and malls. Not in as much direct competition though. The store is usually in the front with the house/sleeping area in back. Just takes a few steps to get to work... Laundry is often out drying... goes good with all the high sulfur diesel exhaust in the air. π2 points

In many respects, America is, for better and for worse, heir to the intellectual revolution of seventeenth-century Europe. What characterized philosophy and science in the early modern period and represented a break from much of what went before is the concern to tailor theories to evidence, not to authority or tradition. Galileo, Descartes, Spinoza, Locke, Newton and others came up with explanations of the cosmos, of the world around them and of human nature and society not by appealing to what earlier thinkers (such as Plato and Aristotle) had said. Nor were they guided primarily by religious dogma. Rather, they took their lead from reason and experience. Whether they proceeded according to the logic of deduction or through the critical collection and analysis of data, what the modern scientific method they developed consists in is the testing of theories according to what reason allows and what empirical evidence supports. A rational person only believes what the evidence warrants him in believing; he does not merely accept things on faith; and when the evidence falsifies his beliefs, he abandons them. It is irrational β stupid β to hold onto beliefs when they are plainly contradicted by the evidence.1 point
