  1. This is for all three of you who aren't on Facebook. Everybody else has probably already seen it 200 times so please just ignore. Almost photoshopped my website out but I talked to two admins and they said it was ok so here it is. If there's any issues please just delete, I'm just proud of it but don't want to ruffle any feathers. Basically I kept seeing all these trucks that were representing everything but home audio so I wanted to do the same thing with Klipsch. The below two were my favorite: example / inspiration 1: example / inspiration 2: So I hooked up with a designer and we came up with this based on design styles that I liked, it's actually a rendering but it almost looks real, this truck doesn't exist. This took several proofs to get to this point, I literally threw away about 75 versions of almost the same thing. Matt Sommers provided feedback on some tweaks and approved this design: I finally got the courage to pull the trigger, found a shop in Nashville called the Wrap Lab who had done multiple Raptors and other high end cars so I was more comfortable with dealing with them than the local guys who admitted that they didn't like stuffing the wrap behind anything, they just cut around stuff, and I saw examples of that and it was just as bad as I suspected, so I drove down and left it for a week. installation: Good thing I stared at that pic for awhile, finally realized that the front fender was messed up so that had to be redone: finished except the door handle was wrong, notice the driver side door handle makes it look like you are seeing double, that part of the L and I was about an inch too high, they had to redo it. first look outside the shop: at a local pond: tailgate closeup: at the warehouse: IT turned out great for the most part. If I were to do it over I would try to avoid the door handles if at all possible but they aren't that big of a deal, we knew going in that would be a challenge. The body panels made a few things appear slightly different than I expected but if I didn't point it out most people would never notice. The Raptor is a wide body truck, those fenders are VERY curvy compared to a normal truck, it messed some things up mostly revolving around my website. The tailgate top is twisted as well and I couldn't do much with it. The inside of the front and rear fender and right above the URL was probably the hardest though. If I ever did another one I'd make sure I got actual 3D renderings to be safe. Paint shops have some very good software that they can use to visualize all the curves, it would be more useful than I expected in situations like this. Here are a couple of renderings that didn't make the cut but were made using this software. This truck doesn't exist either, just blows my mind. Anyway, it was a fun project. It was surprisingly nerve racking to turn over a new truck to people knowing they're going to take a bunch of stuff off of it plus not knowing exactly how it was going to turn out. If I had done it a few times before and had an older vehicle I wouldn't care but yeah that was strange.

  5. I won the $200 gift card from youthmans channel a few months back and upgraded from my Onkyo 805 to the NAD 777 v 3. Right out of the box it was clear, balanced and did great with the highs on my Klipsch and my room. Love the fans at the bottom, runs super cool compared to the Onkyo 805 which could fry an egg. Hardest part of the set up was syncing to my computer to confirm I had the latest firmware...after that, set up was quick. I ran Dirac. Didn’t notice a huge difference because out of the box it sounded great to begin with. Noticed difference instantly from the Onkyo 805 because the NAD got the center and surround channels right from the beginning. So far, awesome purchase. Thought I would share.

  7. Not being a metalurgist nor engineer (but according to my wife I AM a PITA!!) Anyway, I was thinking that the 3/4 section of it is maybe bad steel and the only thing holding it was the shiny part which sheared recently, therefore is shiny. (Trying to use my McGyver skills)

  8. Daydreams are common, your brain just wanders probably more when bored? Hallucinations are a different thing to me, I have never had one. But to be stopped as your walking alone because of something unexpectedly you see right in front of you that you have never seen before and in 5 seconds it's gone. Was it my brain playing tricks on me, who knows, if so why something which I knew nothing about or thought of before. There was a hall about 12' long, 3 doors 2 were closed the kid's bedrooms, one open with the light on, which was the bathroom. It was at night and the bathroom light was shining into the hall through the doorway and lit up most of the hall. As I turned toward the hall is when I saw it, whatever it was took about 3 steps turned to the bathroom and walked in. When it went into the bathroom the light in the hall was somewhat blocked just as it was a real person, after it went in the bathroom the light was back to normal and not blocked. At first, I kind of thought it was one of the kids so I just stood there, after about 2 minutes of thinking about what I saw and hearing no noise from the bathroom I went to look in. It was empty, I turned and opened both of the kid's bedrooms and all three were all asleep. I never took my eyes off the hall and no one came out, it was not one of the kids. I can't explain what it was, but after asking around I have an idea which still makes it no easier to understand. We talked to the owner of the house, we were renting it because we really wanted to live there and the lady would not sell it. It was well over 100 years old and built by her mother and sat on 18 acres surrounded by swamp on three sides with amazing giant trees all around. We liked it because it looked great and very private and about 3 miles from town which was very busy. As we started asking questions we found out many others had had different types of experiences in that house either as a guest or a resident, some refuse to go around that house again, I guess they had a bad experience? We were told to talk to someone at the church that was a couple of miles away, a previous resident had church members over and the head of the church did something to the house, bless it or whatever. We were brought into the kitchen which had a cathedral ceiling and was shown a cross hanging on a door to the attic, were told to not remove it which we had no reason to anyway. A few days later I did get up there to open the door to just look in and it was just empty space, I don't know why, maby it wasn't the smart thing to do but I was curious. The whole thing was just strange but not scary in any way and we loved living there, we only left because the owner would not give us a long term lease or sell and we did not like the insecurity. No one lived there after us and the house was left to go back to nature as the owner described it, she didn't want to tie the house up for her kids if they wanted to sell the property as she was getting old. That's the story, I have no better explanation. No, I was not drinking, smoking or anything else, when this happened, and I do not do pills or anything else........just for the record.

  9. @MC39693 @Mr.2stroke @JefDC I just added an Affinity T8 rear exhaust cooler on top of my unit and it has made a good amount of difference. I also cut out a 17" (width) x 2" (height) hole in the back of the Tv console for the air to be pushed out from instead of just the dinky 2" circle that was originally there to pass wires through. I watched a movie last night with the wife at volume 55, which is loud but not movie theater loud, and the air sensor never got above 85 degrees. Afterwards I could touch the rear top part of the receivers chassis where it was always the hottest, and it was not very hot, before I could barely touch it. So I'm impressed! I set the fan speed to 1 because I could still hear it at 2. Anything above 2 is too noisy for an open cabinet tv console right under the tv and I sit 10 ft away from my TV. Only downside is that I don't know how to make it turn off/on when the receiver turns off/on, I have to do it manually.

  13. Next up Recorded between the making of Are You Experienced and Axis Bold as Love This album is very funky psychedelic rock, that is very free flowing This album with Jimi Hendrix is with Curtis Knight Quote from something I read - When Hendrix signed up with Chas Chandler in the UK, Hendrix seemed to forget that he was already signed to Ed Chaplin in the US. After coming to the US to play at Monterey and subsequently tour with the Monkees, he hooked up with and agreed a jam session with Curtis Knight with whom he had been working with prior to the Experience. The session was supervised by Ed Chaplin. Hendrix agreed to these recordings as he felt some obligation to Knight and Chaplin, but he didn't want his name used on them and this is pretty much ephemeral psychedelia. Artist - Jimi Hendrix with Curtis Knight Title - The Wild One

  14. Very cold, being my first normal martini was from Carl a couple of years ago, I had no idea how cold. It looks foggy because there are hundreds of tiny pieces of ice in it and it lasts for a while like that. This was after a few minutes and drinking a little of it, it didn't taste anything as I expected, much milder considering what's in it. They could be dangerous.

  18. I think a thread that is locked to the top with Klipsch impedance curves would be helpful so if you have them for any klipsch speaker please share. I know this will be helpful to folks powering the speakers with tube amplifiers and especially flea powered. Moderators if you see fit please lock it to the top.

  19. Continuing my online yardsale, selling components and turntbles. See my other ads for speakers: LaScalas https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/182529-wts-designer-la-scalas-birch-and-cane-clean-1750obo/ , KP301s https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/174676-pair-of-kp301-cosmetically-challenged-but-sound-great/ and Tangent 5000s https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/182661-wts-tangent-5000s/ I'll consider shipping at actual cost. I have access to lots of packing material and a loading dock, so no worries about the quality of packaging. First up, I'm parting out a set of KG2s. One tweeter is missing the voicecoil, otherwise appear to be complete. Untested, if there's interest in the parts I'll ohm out the drivers. Second, a few amps, tested and working flawlessly. The boxes have been lost over the years, generally clean cosmetically (dust will be cleaned well before sale.) Amp 1: Parasound HCA-800II. Both A and B speakers tested and working, currently in use driving the speakers I have for sale. $150 Amp 2: Acurus A250. $300 Amp 3: Carver M-4.0t Silver Seven, silver/gray faceplate. $400 - I have used this bridged to drive a home theater sub with great results. Pre/proc: Lexicon DC-1 - $BestOffer - Working, it's currently driving the speakers I have for sale. Remote is a little sketchy - I will try cleaning the battery posts. Integrated 1: Fisher Studio Standard, big HEAVY solid state beastie. Untested, cosmetically clean. $Offers Integrated 2: Placeholder text, I need to pull out and photograph. Also a solid state unit, late 70s early 80s I believe. I also have several turntables for parts or repair: Two Dual 1019, a Thorens TD160, and a Benjamin Miracord - $BestOffers - Pics on request.

  20. This is a 540 PTO shaft off my tractor. Tractor is an International 1066 with dual shafts. Upper shaft is 1000 rpm, this one is 540. Yesterday, noticed it wasn't working. Started digging into it and found this. Clearly I have to get this fixed...but am scratching my head on how a piece of steel that's around 1.375" (1 3/8) inches thick simply snaps.

  21. There are so many variables like room acoustics and treatments, equipment matching source material how loud you listen type of music etc its really hard to say what you'll experience in your space if you get them at a good price try them out and if they're not a right fit for you re-sell them simple as that.

  23. Cory that is one fine Ford! Wouldn't mess with it unless it was for the same reason that you did. The copper adds enough to it to keep the mainly B&W from looking possibly dull. Do you have to be careful with slinging mud up on that stuff? You're a good bit northwest of here so don't know what color the mud is up there..... but if it is close to the copper color that will look good dirty too!

  24. I don't know. I have not yet pulled the PTO unit from the tractor. I was working on removing the speed increaser (15' hydraulic rotary cutter so it has a VERY heavy speed increaser hanging off the PTO to jump the RPM's from 540 to approximately 2,160. It's a 4X increaser) Was all I could do to lift the speed increaser single handedly....but....I'm persistent and it's off. When I got it off, I saw this hanging on the input side of it where this pulled out of the tractor. That's where I am now. I'm told the PTO unit is also VERY heavy so I need to get some help or create something where I can hang it around my neck like I did with the increaser and use my legs to hoist it. Still working on that part.

  27. I rarely drink, in the last year or two except for sometimes at Rodney's, there a bad influence it seems. A couple of weeks ago when we were there I was playing with Rodney's blood pressure machine and after trying it 3 times it said my bp was VERY high. Joe the old guy with the white cowboy hat said here drink this quickly and poured me a few ounces of what he drinks, Devils Cut bourbon so I did and was told wait about 10 minutes and check your bp again. It went down a little so he repeated his prescription. Well, my bp only went down slightly but after about 30 minutes I didn't care anymore. If he was my doctor I might have a serious problem. One day at pilgrimage Carl asked me if I was ready for a martini, it was fairly early in the day and no breakfast or anything to eat, I had to take a break for a little while after drinking it. Before that, the only martini I had ever tried was a chocolate martini and an Apple while on a cruise, which is nothing like a normal one. The Apple was terrible. I think your right, just remember 99 shakes NOT 100 or 98, there are some rules. Chocolate with the apple in the background.

  34. @wvu80 I don't know who posts stuff where, or what other usernames they would have at potential other locations. I doubt that is the case here though. This guy seems like he gets something out from the hoard and usually posts it for sale on CL immediately, then takes pics later. He posted this one 8 days ago. Maybe someone else can advise.

  38. Thrifty or cheap? Is repairing a pair of headphones that cost less than $2 being thrifty or just plain cheap? Whenever I make a substantial purchase from Parts Expess, I throw in a few pairs of the least expensive (cheapest) headphones they offer. Sometimes it gets the order into “free shipping” territory—another homage to Silas Marner and Scrooge. I recommend the practice wholeheartedly. While not hi-fi by any definition, they’re handy for listening to such things as audio books, YouTube videos, etc., when not disturbing others trumps sound quality. There’s always a pair in the consoles of the cars, at bedside and near my Archie Bunker chair. This morning I stepped on the pair by the chair. A little shrink-tubing and the heat gun repaired them. Is it crazy to expend any effort and resources to fix throwaway headphones? The side closest to the heat gun was repaired. Smaller diameter white tubing was stretched over the broken plastic and metal junction, then shrunken to hold things together. Larger diameter black tubing was then shrunken over that. A bit of the White is still visible. I wonder what the warranty is on these things. I’ll call PE to find out. 😏

  41. When I read the released details of the AK6 and AK5 La Scala’s I must have been reading and comprehending two different items. I THOUGHT these latest TOL Heritage models had switched to titanium diaphragms. Not sure that it makes a difference. Wife would not let another pair in the house. She asks why a new pair of H iii are boxed up in the attic. Try to keep her out of the attic.
